Потрясающе выразительные и яркие мелодии Фрэнка. То что Фрэнк делал в связи с Киранидиями и Дюнами мне всегда нравилось больше, чем его позднее творчество...
Recently played it again with MT-32 emulation in DOSBox and boy is that tune amazing this way. I only grew up with the adlib version which still sounded great but once I made the comparison between the two, it's almost like the adlib version was foreign to me now.
I've looked for other recordings of the Roland MT-32 soundtrack, and this one is much more punchy and sharp (and smooth at the same time) than others, for example this one: /watch?v=Aj2aPxygAFM What exact sound card did you use? Was it a Roland MT-32 "compatible", or a genuine Roland MT-32? According to the video description, it would be the latter? Congrats!
Zanthia's swamp is by far the best of all these.

Damn that Roland MT-32 is amazing :)
Zanthia's swamp was always my favorite. I had a roland soundcard back then, so much better than ad-lib.
Which model of Roland card? LAPC-I? SCC-1? etc.

Damn right !! Ir remember me my childhood !!
Thanks for sharing. I wish i could share AWE32 and Roland GS.
Westwood Studios made this? I had no idea...
Roland after Adlib was like water after hot days
I actually think the Adlib versions sound better, more natural and somehow less contrived.
No, MT-32 is an LA synth, not FM. LA is a combination of subtractive synthesis with PCM sound samples. The Adlib is FM only. No PCM samples.
I agree, seems like the Adlib version was the primary one since creators were aware of the fact majority of players won't have MT-32
Thanks for posting these! The mp3 versions I've found have all sounded pretty rough compared to this.Roland MT-32 form.

This sounds so much better then my AWE64 that I played this on 20 years ago.
Do the cliffs in Highmoon resemble the cliffs in the UK?
