Definitely gotta have one of these. Better filtration than a Berkey and costs a lot less.
Only thing I'd improve on is some kind of pre-filter screen for when you fill it to keep sediment out, but that can be easily done with a coffee filter and rubber band.
Country Prepper, that is an excellent point! The more filtration the better! We will have some pre-filters soon that slide over the top of the main opening.
It would be a good idea to recommend people use coffee filters to pre-filter the raw water before putting it into the container ! Simple to do and extends the life of the interior filters. Doing pre-filtering gets major debris out of the raw water. **If you could pre-filter then boil the water before putting it into this container, better yet to insure longer filter life and sanitize the water to the max !
Good review and product, nice to see your spirits high 🙂
Nice weekend weather, Chris. Warm & nearly no wind noise !!!! Yeah !! O-Hi-YA !!
Thanks Chris!
It's like my Geigerrig hydration blatter, but on steroids... I like it.
i love my geigerrigs....
Awesome video. Thanks for the coupon code.
Have not seen one like this one before, I like it . Thanks. Tony
Awesome review and great product! Thanks for the discount. I will be getting one of these for sure!
very cool!! the flow rate on the out end is fast!
You two are insane when you get together.
You nailed it with this one
Thanks for the review Chris, I just ordered one.
PREPAREDMIND101 thank you so much for your review! You have done an excellent job reviewing the many different parts of the Pressurized Jerry Can Water Filter not to mention adding the girl from the ring haha. For anyone that would like the test results they can research out to us and we will happily provide them with that information. Thanks again!
I was looking into this but it seems the carbon filters are a bit tricky to find, is there a way I can get those?
Definitely gonna pick up a hydroblu, its exactly what I've been loking for, thanks!
Adnan Maharaj no problem! You and many others have been giving us feedback over the years and we were finally able to develop the Pressurized Jerry Can.
Looks like a great product!
Aye an actual prepper item. I'll be damned.
+Scott Reece I'm good for 6 more months...
Like your tent review nice brake from the knives.
Like always another great vid with good content with fun added in!
Of course it's always a good idea to boil the water if there's any doubt about the water after filtering. Notice I didn't mention the #s**d 😀
Thank you for all this info. It looks like a very good product, I'm thinking of getting one. I went to see your link for the website, and I saw they sold a few parts in case we need to replace them, but I didn't see the... Tab ... I hope they sold this part in case it broke or leaked...
THANKS FOR THE PROMO CODE
That is awesome!
Nice product. I like it a lot!
Icon and Lifestraw make filtered Jerry can water containers as well.
Your influencer link is much better in this video lol. This is an Awesome filter it cost more than I can afford this holiday season but I think it is something worth saving up for!!!
Wolf Pack Woodcraft it is worth every penny. Water is the most important non-sexy thing about emergency preparedness and the Pressurized Jerry Can makes it sexy!
I would agree 100% how well does this filter work in the winter months??? It would be great to have a filter that was just as quick and easy to use without worrying about freezing and cracking.
Wolf Pack Woodcraft like all water-based products in the winter there is the possibility that they will freeze however if you take measures to avoid freezing the Pressurized Jerry Can will work well.
You have 7 days lol. You 2 are a trip and thanks for the review. I will definitely be checking into these for sure.
cool very cool
I need to find a unit like that for desalination, most are cost prohibitive and expensive to replace the filters and are slow. I'm by the ocean so it's one of the preps I have always wanted to have. In the desert it's practical to have a large container on the vehicle here. But again. Lack of resources. Thanks for the review on this container. Pretty darn nice.
BlackRifle Survival simple make a copper distilling coil and thread the fittings to your metal bottle
Like it. Nice Find.
It's cheaper on the company website (even w/o Chris's discount) than Amazon.
Old School ADHD Chis Tanner, love it!!!! Highly informative and entertaining!!!
This is awesome
very cool , wonder if they will come out with a foot pump attachment ?
Raymond Davison that is a unique idea. We'll to work on that. Thank for the feedback!
Good looking product and review!
Try running coffee through it and see if it comes out water after filtration.
ya know chris even if you where getting money for it you earned it. Ive been watching your channel for years and I never seen/herd you lie to "us" .....always an honest review.
Thanks guys for the review, I was even more convinced about this item after seeing your video. I've used your promo code on their website, awesome! Thanks
I have the hydroblu filtered water bottle, I haven’t had a chance to use it. Luke from TheOutdoorGearReview, has a video on the bottle.
Hey I know this isn’t related to the video at all, but I’ve been a fan of the channel for 2 years and I wanted to know if you would do a review of the Coldsteel OSS fighter.
its awesome!!!
Interesting! Very very interesting!
Thereal111t we are glad that you like it.
You guys are hilarious. Thanks for the video
Most entertaining review of the Hydroblu. (I've watched them all.) I'm ordering one, and extras carbon filters too. I have 3, 6 gallon jerry cans. I plan to fill them from the dirty water supply, let them settle a bit, then put them into the Hydroblu. That should make for some high quality H2O.(The Waterboy starring Adam Sandler) Also, when using the shower adapter, take out(unscrew) the carbon filter for better flow.
I'm concerned about the longevity of that pump. Looks like the weed sprayer pumps I have used which get leaky after a few years. Will it gravity feed?
Thanks Chris. I am very interested in this system. I have a question for HydroBlu, seeings how they are responding to some of the comments. I looked at HydroBlu's website and in the FAQs they claim the the Clear Flow filter will allow you to drink swimming pool water because of the activated charcoal filter. Is it then safe to drink pool water from the Jerry Can filter and even the Sidekick 3-Stage Straw Filter, because of the charcoal filters? I hope they see this and reply. Thanks
Not bad. For the price, I would have liked the .02 filter included. Water filtration is one of those topics that isn't covered in enough detail. The activated charcoal filter may remove some chemical contaminants, but I'm not sure what is filtering the heavy metals they claim. www.cdc.gov/healthywater/pdf/drinking/household_water_treatment.pdf
BTW, the .1 filter falls under microfiltration and the .02 fals under ultrafiltration
www.cdc.gov/healthywater/drinking/home-water-treatment/household_water_treatment.html
Modern Survival Sense you are exactly right that people don't talk enough about water. Our active carbon additionally has ion-exchange micro beads that increase the removal of unwanted contaninates.
Kerosene cans are blue
Chis, how about doing an update video? Thanks.
You forgot to mention that the kicker is $125.00 for this unit !!! You can pick up a back packable Katadyne Hiker Pro for only $60.00.
+SGTPROVO Yeah, that's not the same thing now, is it? And it's $100 with the coupon code.
You guys are hilarious. Good vid
Chris!! Is there anything out there that an individual can get to easily test a water source to find out what's in it so you know what level of filtration you need to do?
Squirrel.....lol....great vid.
I just looked into this more and IT'S NOT BPA FREE. Wtf? That ruins it for me .. asking to have things leach into the water. No good.smh I really wanted one to.
@Anonymous Maximus: online chat with HydroBlu> all products BPA free.
I like it but needs some improvements. 1. A covered spigot to not contaminate your water when filling. 2. A way to fill it without dipping in a water source. Most often collecting dirty water is done from a river, lake, stream, puddle (vs. tap) so being able to easily fill from those sources is a must.
Living Survival thank you for your feedback!
HOW WILL IT FILTER IF THE PUMP GO'S OUT?
Dam it, you did it to me again @ chris Tanner After watching your video I purchased one of these filters and the optional virus filter . Anyway I think it will come in handy to leave in my vehicle for those long term car camping trips where I don’t have to fill it up at home before I go out I can just go down to the lake or river or pond and fill it up
Haha Ghost Girl that genuinely made me laugh! Nice review 👍
Great review. Side question, where did you get that jacket and how much?
Will it work with saltwater?
Doubtful you'd have ''Safe salt water'' You have to do the Water Desalination Processes
John Yearick it will not. Salt generally can only be removed by reverse osmosis or similar processes where the water needs to be separated into its basic elements.
Hi Chris,
If I had one I would probably tie a pad and pen to it to log/record how much water i've used through the filters, so to replace filers at correct intervals near the 250 Gal. mark on activated carbon I think you said.
I wonder if this unit was not used for a while would the filters still be ok as they may dry ect. or if used just every now and then over a course of years would the filtration be compromised, even if they've not reached usage limit (e.g. 250 Gal.).
I also wonder what the shelf storage life of replacement filers are.
Could make something similar from 10 Ltr. Pump up garden/weed hydo sprayer with a Sawyer filter inline through hose, but obviosly not quite the same.
You can buy activated carbon at fish/pet shop.
Like the idea though. Good if water gets cut off at family home ect. N1 Chris Thanks for the vid.
What is the green thing on that dudes neck?
WTF Chris, after watching this video, I got a phone call from an unknown female who whispered; "seven days."
Luiz79 That's our sales associate! She is really persistent (wink) haha
Its a blue container, that means you can filter kerosene thru it as well, lol
Did u test the water that comes out? Or just a visual assessment?
+Gharrett klawitter We drank it.
PREPAREDMIND101 I don’t think he watched the whole video...
PREPAREDMIND101 I realize that. But did u go any further with any kind of tests to see ph,or anything like that. Yes it’s great for a camping/ survival situation but I am asking because u can drink water from a filter and it still be bad. Maybe I should have specified that my interest is using it more than once and awhile. Just cuz it’s filtered or bottled doesn’t mean it’s good, maybe safe but not good.
I wish I would have had a coupon code a couple months ago. I have order a few hundred dollars worth from them in the last couple months
Looks a little tedious to clean out the inside after every use though.
man...don't be knockin gearbest....the captain will be comin' for ya hehehehehe....
Do you have any cool flashlight reviews coming up?
Finally somthing more than the boring knives ! U convinced us to buy becker bk 7 or 9 with the kneck knife for it an now the knives videos are draining plaaaAaz make awsome reviews like this one of useful items 8D
+Anonymous Maximus Boring knives pay the bills. Look at the views on knife videos compared to stuff like this.
PREPAREDMIND101 it is disgusting that youtube demonitizes the most important survival tool of em all.
Guns.
The agenda is getting closer and closer I pray that the people can stop it when it happens
PREPAREDMIND101 the real question is it better than the lifesaver jerry csn ?
Ok...who is Will?
+Nelxon M. .... The other guy whose been on the channel since the beginning?
You guys are drinking out of the bottle like it's poison or bad vodka... which I suppose, is almost the same thing.
Great Hydro Very blu Jerry Can ! #Jessica #TheShed
Tried your code. Said not valid
240weatherby the code is still available. Make sure that you capitalize the PM in PM101.
Is it only good for the Jerry can?
I did capitalize too
The discount is only for the Jerry Can.
I am sorry that it is not working for you as it has worked for others. It would be our suggestion to call in and order as it appears to be a devise issue.
Will once cut his finger instead of his hotdog cuz he color blind and he died
Its not blue its grey with a blue stripe. Are you colour blind steve. LOL
Alan Reader Well said!
No way would I spend 124 dollars on gear that just came out. Plus the size alone to big for most people. Did you here what he said now I don't half to bring cases of bottle water with him now. Do you have any skills in the woods. Or do you just review gear mostly on this channel. I'm new by the videos I've just seen he reviews gear only But I can be wrong.
First!
Great video btw, this is def something to look into to. Thanks for the cool videos
I seen few of the comments you left chirs saying about life straw don't have 02. We'll this 124 dollar water filter don't have it 02 installed you half to buy it. Did you miss that particular part. The guy only left a opinion and nothing else nothing nasty or bad at all. Then you talk down to him. Not cool at all I don't support channels like this one. I will not sub to this channel or support it any more.
How come you guys don't boil that water first and then pour it over a cloth to take out any major debris, then take the water and pour it into your great new water filter pump ???
SGTPROVO boiling is hugely inefficient and fuel/energy intensive. The whole point of a filter is not to have to do that. Typical filters will do thousands of gallons of water. He said this is good for 10,000 gal. That would use a massive amount of fuel.
SGTPROVO you have a good point. When it comes to water treatment the more processes i.e. boiling, filtering, or purify the better. It never hurts to take an extra filtration step. Tracy Reed does have a valid point as well.
+Tracy Reed Too bad I can't post that Morgan Freeman "He's right you know" meme.
