lucario isn't hype because of a comeback mechanic that punishes him for winning but rob is hype for getting 80% cutscene combos off a projectile
This whole video is peak salty smash community. ROB is one of the best characters in the game. You have no right to complain if you call Lucario bad.

Not really the same. Lucario just kills off of stray hits. ROB kills off combos.
@@j.prt.979 Yes but comparably it’s way harder to get hit by a stray hit from Lucario versus an entire cutscene from ROB or a 50/50.
Lucario mostly has to whiff punish or punish a retreating option or jump or overextension which other characters can play around. It’s very inconsistent.
@@strikerali2160 Again, that’s not really the guy’s point. He doesn’t like comeback mechanics, and views Lucario’s stray hits getting stronger as he “loses” as unfair. ROB combos are fine because it’s just a constant feature. Nothing to do with character strength. Btw, I don’t even agree with him. Just think you took what he said the wrong way.
Anyway, I don’t agree that it’s easier to avoid most high aura Lucario hits vs specific ROB combo starters. The issue with Lucario is that he has to be at kill percent to actually kill so early, so he usually dies before exploiting it. If Lucario always had high aura he’d be pretty broken. ROB is safer and scarier because he can start these combos irrespective of his own %.
@@j.prt.979 Oh no you’re making a lot of sense. I don’t think you’re spouting nonsense or anything. I realize what the guy is saying and his point. I wanted to make a point branching from that but I didn’t make that clear or obvious.
I just feel this way and said it because I use Lucario and yeah the stray hits are massive and often catch mistakes. But if anything I feel like both characters are just jarring cus Lucario can kill off of whatever after awhile whereas ROB can kill off of a multitude of things due to how he excels and has options at all ranges.

Look I get come back mechanics are cheesy so the commentator feeling like Lucario sucks is understandable, but come on. Rob is way more broken than Lucario is. Mid tier vs Top tier the unfair character here is not Lucario.
Also that bait at the end of game 5 was ballsy af.

Lucario is kinda funny in doubles, I always say something like “oh 47%? Dead, oh you’re at 63%? Dead” then sometimes I’ll be at one stock 110% and my sphere would take up half the stage💀
I love Lucario. Dont forget he is punished from winning as well. Other characters kill cheap at any percent and some others even have comeback mechanics as well such as Terry and Kazuya.

I use the c stick for the majority of the characters I use. I use the left stick + attack when throwing out short hop aerials

I really dislike these commentators like god, i get the anti-steve bias but anti-lucario?? Sure do love me some promotion for sick characters like ROB and game and watch and oooooo i cant wait to see some sonic! Its probably not intentional but as commentators, constantly saying "good job Zomba!!" and "omg fucking lucario?!", it mentally funnels the viewers into preferring/playing more commonly seen characters which is kinda lame and sad. Its the exact opposite reason to why the Japan scene is so diverse, because people want to push their character to their limits. Please ban these casters omg.
