I love the "Joan Jett" book Todd published, you can really tell it was a labor of love for him, putting it together. I have it proudly displayed on my bookshelf 😁 Thanks Todd 👍👍
This video perfectly demonstrates that Todd Oldham is not only a talented artist and designer...but he is and always has been a very genuinely kind and down to earth person .even with a living legend like Joan Jett it was like two old friends hanging out..he is this way with everyone including every day common folks ..this is rare in fashion and the entertainment industry! Truly a diamond in a rhinestone world !I wish you continued success in everything you do .you are an amazing person !
She probably gets that confusion from so many people that now she doesn't even bother anymore. On top of that, Joan took a B-side single and made it a number one hit. If it wasn't for her intuition about this song, majority of us probably would have never even heard the original. Joan has this unique talent of taking pure and simple things and turning them into diamonds. She deserves just as much credit as the Arrows for taking this song the extra mile.
The left-handed argument for the guitar - THANK YOU! I'm left handed and want my coordination on the frets. It's the right-handed folks that are backwards.
First, I want to say- what a charming, sweet host! Now, having said that, he really made a boo boo assuming JJ wrote I LOVE RnR. Why do people so often make the mistake of assuming she wrote her covers? I mean, while there are singer-songwriters out there, and while Joan has written a fair amount herself, it is not uncommon for rock and pop stars to have people writing their songs for them. So, why the assumptions with Joan? And he had complimented her so much by that point, under the assumption that she wrote it, that she probably felt too awkward to correct him after that!
No. "The Arrows" formed in 1958 and had a big hit with "Annie Mae." It's on youtube. The UK band "Arrows" wrote "I Love Rock N Roll" and recorded the original version in 1975. So what?
so what what? :) thanks for the precise data.. i do know however, that Arrows wrote the original one, which is why i wrote the other comment. Many bands are called arrow-something.. which i can see u obviously know as well. so yeahr so what? i just pointed that it wasnt the ''The arrows'' that released the original version of 'I love rock and roll', but well i doesnt really matter, as long as axeaquestion knew whom he/she was talkning about. But i dont really get ur last ''so what'' ? :)
Actually only Alan Merrill wrote it. Jake Hooker's name was just put there for compensation for helping Alan with a debt once, but he never really wrote anything of the song. And as for Joan, yes she should have corrected him, but maybe she was too embarrassed to do so, cause by that point, so many people had that idea that she wrote it- despite the fact that she did several interviews at the height of her success with the song, wherein she openly admitted that the song was a cover of Arrows b-side. It's not her fault people are so dumb about it.

"I'm here to work" she said at 1:22. That was great.

wish my mom would get me a guitar but she rather me to be a beauty queen
i'm sorry, but all you have to do is save about $150 and go to your local guitar center
this is just strange o.o
You must be talkning about arrows, NOT The arrows
What is that crap about writing "I Love rock n roll?"
She never did any such thing.
It was Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker.
This is pathetic.
