I love this video! My reseller life is similar, but on a smaller scale. Seeing your daily grind is inspiring, and I need to push myself to reach your level. I'm disappointed that I haven't found any eschatology books, but it's not the end of the world.
I got one of those Jaden printers, and since I went to bluetooth on my phone, it's been good. When I first got it, I was using bluetooth through my Windows PC....well, there was a Windows update overnight, and when I woke up in the morning it had printed off the last label I had printed like 350 times! There were wasted labels filling my kitchen! I started just using my phone to print 😅
We both sell the same media, except Im 110% eBay (I'll never sell on AZ again). Im ~$100K p/y seller mostly physical media. Most of my books are non barcode. Just started my youtube channel explaining it a bit. I generally source $300-700 in 3-5 hours and listed to make my 8 hour day. I live in a very fortunate area where thrift stores are a plenty.
@@josh_graff Started in 2011 or so. Last sale was 2019. Long story about a seller buying $1500 of rare VHS off me under a different name & account. Long story how I know he was the same.
How long do you keep your items in your inventory before you bring the duds to goodwill? I've recently been trying to brainstorm a good cut off point to where holding onto inventory thats not selling.
Currently I’m doing that this week. Every year during the first week of January I go through the oldest 10% of items in my store and either end them or drastically drop the price.
Did you go in Ollies? I saw in background. I've had a little luck with books there. I see some videos people buy food, make up, toys and resell. Seems be flooded market to me.
Yea I did go. I didn’t include what I got in the video because it’s a bit experimental and I’m not sure how’s it’s going to work out yet. Just trying something new.
@@jono8884 yes I sell tons of CDs and DVDs many people are switching back to them because they are learning that with digital the content can just magically disappear. I prefer to sell paperbacks because typically the fees are lower because they weigh less. I sell lots of hardbacks, but more paperbacks.
The ring scanner reads the numbers on the barcode. (Usually starts with 978 on books). It enters that number into an app I used called Scoutly. Scoutly then looks at the price and sales history of that item on Amazon. It works for any product on Amazon. I have links to both the scanner and Scoutly in the description of the video.
You made a great point: Goodwill, Savers, too-they’re probably scanning their books and CDS. Yeah? Where do you get the finger scanner?! Please share. Will you please explain the E Score? And do the faith-based, church books and videos show up on it?
There is a link to the barcode scanner in the description of the video. Also a link to the software I’m using to look them up. The barcode scanner is just used to “type” in the barcode number. E score is how many days the item has sold on Amazon in the last 6 months. So an e score of 20 means it has sold on 20 days in the last 6 months. Some of the faith based stuff shows up, but most of it has never been on Amazon. If it hasn’t been listed on Amazon, then the software won’t find it.
I used to sell books about 15 years ago. I used the scanner from Scout and sold almost exclusively on Amazon fba. I have been inside a Goodwill warehouse and I can confirm they do scan their books. Once in a while one or two will slip through and end up in the stores.
The closest store like that is over an hour away from me. Usually I don’t make it out that way. I have a few smaller used book stores that I work with quite a bit. They don’t accept everything, but if you talk with them you can learn what they are looking for.
You can set it to either match buy box or use their smart pricing. Smart pricing will go above buybox for really low rank stuff and may go lower for really high rank stuff.

Still profitable here where I am. I’m sure it can vary a lot depending on your location, but honestly books are everywhere. You just have to look in the right places.

Oh wow yikes! Updates can do weird things sometimes.
Loved this vid as I do all your vids! Appreciate you taking us along and sharing your knowledge! ✌
Thanks so much for all your encouraging comments.
Really like this style of video! Keep up the great work
Thanks! I’ll film more like this in the future.

Why no Amazon anymore?

I’ve got two of those exact printers for couple years and only used the Bluetooth option. Never had connectivity issues surprisingly!
They have an app so you can print directly from your phone too.
Yea I’m most excited about the option of printing from my phone. BT can be fickle at times so I prefer to plug things in when I can.

They're putting in a new Ollie's by me 😊
Do you need the new barcodes if you’re selling FBM on amazon? Or is that only for FBA?
That’s only for FBA it’s for Amazon to track it in the warehouse.
Love my Jaden printer! I saved $10 bc I bought an ugly pink one!😂
Haha. My daughter would love me to get a pink one.
Really enjoyed this video. I sell on both platforms and it is difficult to find good videos
Thanks for watching! Not many people on RUclips and selling on both platforms. Most specialize on one or another.
Are you able to sell CDs, DVDs etc. considering how streaming has killed the formats?
Do you prefer hardback?

People want to own the media. I'm sitting on a bunch and plan in opening a store Ina few years renting out the stuff. Blockbuster2030
Does the ring scanner pull data on any item with a barcode or just certain items.

Do you not have a half price books for your duds? I may just be lucky to have one

Does go2lister automatically match the used buy box to set your prices for you?
You can set it to either match buy box or use their smart pricing. Smart pricing will go above buybox for really low rank stuff and may go lower for really high rank stuff.

people are still fba'ing books into AZ, fools gold..............fba for books died 10 yrs ago.

Is doing this too competitive these days or is it profitable if you put in the effort? I love your videos and I subscribed from Australia

@@josh_graff Thanks for the reply :) I might try this in my area
Please do not sticker valuable books obviously. I have seen some dust jackets ruint because a Thrift Store employee not knowing better.
Absolutely. My high dollar more collectible/antiquarian books typically go to eBay.
