Couldn't agree more with Martina Navratilova. This WADA appeal aginst Jannik Sinner is completely misplaced. For sure, he wasn't doping. Let's move on please.
I don’t think he knew what they were rubbing on him was a banned substance. But he is ultimately responsible for the actions of his team. That is basis of the WADA’s case. I think they have a strong case.
@philburneblair There is a big warning red sign on the cream package, so if his trainers missed it or ignored it then as Sinner is the boss, he is equally responsible for it.
pity wada is seeking false glory through false accusations and overexaggerated threats . Surely their dictatorial ways need to be checked. I'm so sorry to hear sinner being down - obviously it is demoralising for an honest player to face so much harassment over false accusations and charges. This is hurting tennis big time. Any ban, of more than a week in an off season, and we are not watching tennis any more.
Sinner was already cleared 3 times: 3 wada world experts, working for an independent panel, analyzed Sinner samples and determined after a long scrutiny and investigation that sinner story was believable. 2 out of 3 experts didn't even know it was Sinner samples initially. Even Wada accepted that it's not a doping case, in fact they appealed for negligence, which is frankly ridiculous, he couldn't possibly know that his physio used that banned substance to treat a small wound and also the doping effect was ridiculous so as the amount found in his blood, he won the AO few weeks ago, surely at least 2 times checked by antidoping and clean, Rotterdam same story, Miami same story, semi in Roland Garros, QF Wimbledon, he won Halle, us open, Cincinnati, atp finals, final in Beijing... All checked and clean... It's matter of logic, why should he have done it intentionally, it's not even a good substance for doping, real cheaters use much more complicated methods, Clostebol was used in 70s by ex East Germany athletes as doping, it was actually the doping of desperate poor people
This is just crazy...no good reason that they have to keep postponing the hearing. Tennis is WAY TOO HARSH in its sentencing of players who take banned substances. This needs to stop.
In the ITIA vs Sinner trial, 3 independent scientific experts evaluated the case, running lab tests and checking literature. Sinner's explanation is scientifically plausible, while no other plausible explanation has emerged.
Go Martina! (Though it wasn't a massage cream or a cream at all). John doesn't have it quite straight though. There is provision under WADA's own guidelines for a 'no fault or negligence ruling' which was the outcome of the Tribunal. They are appealing, as far as i can tell, because there was negligence within his team and they believe he should bear some responsibility. It's basically a debate about the application of case law which Jannik is unfortunately caught up in.
That is the point they are missing. Most of us feel that Sinner did not knowingly dope. I may look stupid but I am actually starting to believe Sinner. It’s his team that did it to him behind his back
It's 9:58 PM CST on Saturday night in America. AO has begun and the Tennis Channel has 3 talking heads BSing while not covering the LIVE Ruud/Munar match. TC stinks; the website stinks. Sick and tired of not getting good coverage from either.
Sinner did not knowingly dope. It was his team that rub the banned substance on him. He is ultimately responsible for the actions of his team. I think WADA has a strong case. Any normal tennis fan will notice that his fitness was massively improved at the later stages in 2023 and even more so in 2024. Before this he was not a contender for any majors. I think he only won one masters 1000 before 2023• He was never even in a grand slam finals until 2024. It is not looking good for him. The same year he had a massive improvement in his fitness and stamina is the same year he failed two drugs tests. But let’s see what happens and I wish him a good outcome. But actions have consequences and his team in my opinion did him dirty. He will not be too upset at his team though because he is winning right now and doing pretty well. He will be good though. He is young so whatever ban he gets will not affect too much in the long term.
If he is responsible for actions of his team, then why didn't Sinner fire his physio immediately after he found out that he coused his positive tests in march?? Why did he do that only before US OPEN in september?? They were with him in every tournament untill US open! Only then he hired Novak's ex physio Marco Paniki. I think that Sinner was hoping that no one will ever find out!
@@slavicakrkalovic7150 no they weren't! get your facts straight. he knew very well that it would have come out publicly eventually, IT IS THE RULES ,y goodness the ignorance
Sinner's physio did not use Trofodermin on Sinner, but on a deep cut on his finger to promote healing. For this reason, legally, since it is a transdermal contamination scientifically proven by decades of studies on clostebol, for which a handshake is enough to absorb it in infinitesimal quantities, the concept of "strict liability" is not valid or in any case is subject to discretion. It would have been different if the product had been used on Sinner directly. There is too much scientific and legal misinformation on social media. Jannik is totally innocent and this contamination of less than a billionth of a gram has not improved his performance. Enough fake news
He has been cleared of doping so he can play, the hearing is about whether there was negligence on his part (i.e. he should have ensured that the physio didn't have that substance on him) and brought by WADA, not the original body that cleared him. This is a lesser offence but still minimum suspension of 6 months IIRC.
The Tennis Channel is always trying to derail Sinner, they are all in for #3 called Alcaraz. I find this constant BS by TC very offensive. They never miss a chance.
No you don't know how the contamination works. It's enough a handshake of few seconds to result positive to Clostebol. An Italian journalist repeated the experiment getting a massage for a week with it as he was Sinner, he sent his samples to a wada lab in Brussels, he resulted positive with 10x more quantity than Sinner. So it's enough that Sinner physio treated him 1-2 times for 15 min after using the Clostebol, to make Sinner result positive with ridiculously low amount tough
