Hopefully, Zverev won’t be on that list for longer. Great that Martina noticed his improvements. As far as the comment about Fritz, Zverev was injured at Wimbledon after banged up his knee and actually had pneumonia already at the US Open. He had been coughing before US Open after which he was in the hospital around time of Laver Cup when finally diagnosed.
"Alexander Zverev the greatest player yet to win a major" I agree! The guy has everything, but for one reason or another, incapable putting all the pieces together during two(2) weeks of a Grand Slam. Let's hope, he finally gets it done in 2025! 🤞🤞
@@docteurgillesalewina5669 Nalbandian maybe. But Zverev also won 2 ATP Finals, and has an Olympic Gold, plus 7 Masters Series titles. Something neither Tsonga or Berdych have done. And Nalbandian only made 1 Slam final and won 1 ATP Finals tournament.
Let’s be real. If Zverev didn’t get injured in 2022, I think he would’ve won one that year. The match with Rafa was so close. I think it could’ve gone either way. Ruud was the opponent in the final. Zverev would’ve beaten him then. Or he could’ve won the US Open that year instead of Alcaraz
It's 9:58 PM CST on Saturday night in America. AO has begun and the Tennis Channel has 3 talking heads BSing while not covering the LIVE Ruud/Munar match. TC stinks; the website stinks. Sick and tired of not getting good coverage from either.
Rudd beat Zverev in a GS in 3 sets in 2023 on his way to one of his 3 finals, he also beat Zverev at in Miami on Hard in 2022. Honestly Rudd never get the respect he deserves. Rudd also beat Novak on the way to Monte Carlo last year.
Numbers don’t lie! Olympic Gold Medal, 2-time ATP Finals Winner, 7-time ATP Masters 1000 Winner, 2 Slam Finals, 20+ ATP Titles (maybe more to come) and respectable H2H-Records against the Big 3 and currents guns (Alcaraz, Sinner) plus consistent Top5 for some time (excluding injury phase)…so yeah Greatest Non-Slam Player! Hopefully the last phrase of my comment changes
I love Dmitrov a lot more but you have to admit by all the metrics and stats Zverev is the best player ever to win a slam. I would say Dmitrov is easily the best player to have never made a slam final though.
Definitely, it is really a shame that he is yet to win a slam. In both his slam finals, it was a case of "so near and and yet so far". Not Greatest though, as the term is used so many times asymmetrically and disproportionately regressing its value. Ofcourse a Great player.
Look at Zverev physically, his wingspan is greater than 90% of the players. He’s also one of the tallest. The fact that he hasn’t won a grand slam doesn’t make him the greatest anything. #thebiggestloser
Lol please. Maybe the most accomplished and the last two masters were fully scammed. He didn't beat a single top 20 player for Rome and no one in top 10 for Paris. Guys like Tsonga were better but played in harder eras
Yes. Zverev is the greatest non grandslam winner for sure. 7 masters titles, 2 tour finals titles and an Olympic singles gold medal.

Lmao excuses. How about ATP finals?

Absolutely. Zverev is the greatest non-slam winner of all time.
What about tomas berdych or david ferrer?
there have been so many talented tennis players in the past thats its impossible to say imho
Nalbandian - Tsonga - Berdych
Zverev has won like everything besides a major, he's won most of the masters, the finals, and a gold medal so I'd say he's the best

You kidding? Tiafoe, Rublev Dimitrov never made even 1 slam final. What’s your point.
@haajiryabre335 Dimitrov could have won a slam if there was no Nadal, Federer.
@@tingyenahkee1447 no he wouldn’t. Dimitrov is a choker.
@@haajiryabre335 in 2017 AO that was the best Dimitrov
Tiafoe and Rublev are more in terms of potential rather than legit contender for slams, so it's fine to disregard my picks.
The best active player to not win a Slam, absolutely.
Who is better historically?
Rublev is more accomplished than Fritz. Rublev has a win rate of 65. Taylor is at 60.

On paper yes, I still think Nalbandian (and maybe Rios) is a much more talented player though
Tsonga, ferrer, Berdych, Nalbandian
Without a doubt! All were better than Zverev
