Imagine moving to Japan to play baseball and knowing very bad Japanese but everybody loves you and interviews you and you're always making them laugh with the few words and phrases you know.
There's just something so endearing about a guy who barely speaks a language that you know, but he doesn't give a damn and does his best anyways. He keeps on rolling without a care in the world and says exactly what he means to say.
Mune is beloved because he reminds us of our inner child and the pureness of how we used to approach life. It's nostalgia, harkening back to the days before we were so politically divided, and the much harsher and jaded way we view life and each other. Cheers to you Kawa.. even though we are all big, you remind us that we should all be small. 🍻
I like how he walks out in front of a huge crowd, says the one English sentence he knows like he's a superstar, then basks in the the applause.
A true American
i also like how he thanks the interviewers before answering the question
😂😂😂
He actually speaks English very well, he just portrayed himself like this on TV. It's why his teammates laugh at him, they know he can speak English.
This man is an international treasure. He must be protected at all costs.
He is the Japanese equivalent of the American late great Betty white
