DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH. IT DOESNT HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY IN. THE HOUSING WILL CRACK AND YOU WILL HAVE TO DRAIN COOLANT, REMOVE THE UPPER PIPE, AND REPLACE THE HOUSING ASWELL.
Hi, I have oil leak down the car, i changed the back seals but still there is leaking, is oil pressure switch will make a leak? As the oil indicator is turning on less than 1000rpm.
They actually don't publish the torque spec in the service information that I use, but a bolt that size is usually 89 inlbs to 110 inlbs. Thanks for watching!!
It actually is dripping from the transmission bell housing. The area between the engine and transmission. Sounds like you probably have a different oil leak. Thanks for watching!!
@@paycheckmonster Tried to use a boroscope without any removals No way but I did get sight of oil puddle on top of the trans bell housing So I still think it is the sensor Some Rislone oil leak gunk seems to have slowed the leak
I have a 2017 with a similar leak and was told that the upper oil pan gasket has to be replaced. I wonder if this could be the real issue in mine? They stated that it is the upper oil pan, and that they have to drop the engine to get to it. Do these cars have 2 oil pans???
So a 2017 is going to have a 3.3L engine. The oil pressure sensor is in the same location. I think there is 2 other engine options, but both of those are 4 cylinders. The V6 does have 2 oil pans. The lower being the steel pan. The upper is cast aluminum and is like an extension or cradle between the engine block and steel oil pan. It's possible the upper pan is leaking, but I think their is a tendency for the more issues with oil pressure sensor. If it's running down the back of the engine like the one in the video, I would not suspect it to be coming from a oil pan gasket. I would ask the question. What is your factory warranty. I thought some of those have a 10yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
@@paycheckmonster I am the second owner so the warranty did not transfer to me. I see the oil gathering under the car, by a couple if bolts to the left of the oil pan.
@@panic151 It would be hard to say. The upper pan is sealed with a special sealant usually and not a gasket. I would expect a leak from the oil pan to look more like seepage along the rail and not isolated to a specific spot. If it is the upper oil pan, the engine does need to be removed according to the service information.
I have the same engine but on a 2014 santa fe i had it leaking also i found an oil under the intake manifold, i did exactly what you did even before watching this video, but it’s still leaking, every time i check oil level and i find that i lost almost 200 ~ 300 ml. i think it’s from the head gasket.
Make sure the manifold isn't filling with oil from the PCV valve. Mine was, I took the old valve and made it a fixed orifice like GM uses, no more smoke on startup or oil consumption!
Great video, saved my customer almost 10 hours in a missed diagnosis. Had the oil leak but no oil light coming on, looked like a rear main leak.
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
This seems to be a very common problem. Im about to get started changing the one on our daughter's car.
Thanks for watching!
good luck! how did it go? im about to do mine!
@@padkirsch plan for 4-5 hours no matter how you do it. I went through the fender well.

You should cover the holes before any screws fall in it
How much would it cost to replace it with labor cost?
It was about $450. Thanks for watching!!
Hi, where did you find the torque specs for the upper intake manifold? I found the specs for the lower intake but couldn't for the upper one

How much you charged for that job
I would charge $800
So where did the oil show up under the engine transmission ? My oil is dripping down just behind the rad

I used a 24" spanner I grind down the side
