Yep, as expected, those vintage APH1's NAIL the AFD and UYI tones! Excellent video man!
Hey! 1986 is NOT vintage! 😭
Thanks 🐍🎩
Dude you completely mastered it!!! I was so floored during that 2:50 middle run part of DTJ solo!!! So killer, I felt like I was being moved by the master himself - the man with the top hat.
Great stuff! Can’t wait to watch the rest of the video lol
Thanks 🎩
Excellent job, you nailed it!
Top tier playing and tone as always. Great vid!
Thanks 🎩🤘
Great comparison and playing 🤘
Thanks bro 🎩
I like how you also changed the knobs and toggle switch to match the real one 😀
I don't regret changing Victoria's original pickup to new APH1s.
Thanks, that's the first thing I did when I got her 🎩
The 86 was a bit more "stringy" sounding. Both sound great.
Man phenomenal playing.
Amazing playing
Thanks 🎩
Incredible tone!
Thanks 🎩
I'm just gonna save this so I can listen to some great guitar whenever I want 🤘
Thanks 🎩
What difference do you hear yourself? Thanks for the upload Noah. Sounds totally awesome as always! iii]; )'
Thanks, In my opinion both pickups are great but the 86 ones are warmer sounding 🎩✌️
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Camera quality is great on this! What did you use to record the video?
Cheers!
Thanks, I used my phone Samsung Galaxy S10+ 4K.
Cool video! How much does the guitar itself contribute to the tones? I can hear more warmth and sustain in the 86 3piece top LP
Thanks, as you said I guess that the guitar also adds to the sound rather than the pickups, the 86 pickups sound a bit warmer, and the goldtop sounds more bitey
Killer!! Are you using any pedal with the JCM studio like A boss EQ or Qzone? or is it just the JCM800 with the hotmod?
Thanks, no pedals needed with the hotmod, with a pedal it will be metal teritory
@@JCMSlash I have a SV20H, thinking about getting this mod on my little plexi, have you tried this mod on the SV20 as well?
Your tone is killer bro, best Slash tone on youtube by far!!
Thanks, yeah I had this mod on the SV20h before I got the SC20h and it sounded killer and amazing, with the sv20 and the hotmod you get instant EVH brown sound and 80's sounds with no pedals, the hot mod is really awesome to have, but remember that the sv20 doesnt have a master volume so the hot mod adds a bit more volume to the amp and more gain, so without some attenuator it will be very loud to open it to a good volume. I use the fryette ps2 on my amps so I dont have a problem with volumes.@@guitarlair
@@JCMSlash nice!! I think I'll get one for my SV20, I don't really use any cabs, I mostly use IR's with my Loadbox so volume wouldn't be a problem!! thanks bro
I love u
That 1986 pickup has an amazing tone, the 2021 sounds a little too bright
Yeah in my ears the 86 sound a bit warmer also
@@JCMSlashjust curious- do you have any videos of the SV20 + Legendary Tones Hot Mod?
@@gerrydaly5409 I think this was also with the Hot mod
ruclips.net/video/vdLGb_8cN5s/видео.html
@@JCMSlash thank you
Possibly because the magnetic field of the magnet bar gets slightly weaker as the years pass, and that pickup is definitely old
Amazing brother! Love it, perfect playing and tone! Who modded your amp?
Thanks, It's a mod that you can get from Legendary Tones, It works great with 800's and Plexi amps, awesome mod without the need of drilling or messing around with the amps wirings.

@@JCMSlash legend, thanks for that!
@@JCMSlash works for sv20h! Hell yeah ahah
I wonder if the aph-1 from the 1980s are closer to the new aph-1 or aph-2, which were theoretically based on the aph-1 from the 1980s
80s sound better 🎩🐍🤘
The best Slash tone, settings please????
Thanks, I used Marshall SC20H JCM800 + Legendary Tones Hot Mod
Presence - 7 Bass- 6 Middle - 5, Treble - 3.5 , Master Vol - 7 - Gain - 5
@@JCMSlash I bought Fractal FM3, do you know?
Yeah I heard of it but I dont use Multi FX units@@oxnegative
ruclips.net/video/FadsSUGyz5o/видео.html
@@JCMSlash what speakers?
What caps do you use in the toneblock of these guitars? 0.022uF or 0.047uF
0.022 orange drop
@@JCMSlash thank you. I've just bought an APH-1 bridge because of you video :) hope mine will also sound so afd-like into Silver Jubilee as yours
@@ArgleMusic Cool, yes they do sound great, these are the pickups for Slash's sound.
Btw did you even like the gibson slash bucker
No, it was too hot, and I prefer regular APH1's for Slash tones
Also whats the best pups for the slash tone and whats the differerence tonally from the gibson to the aph1
Also if you have $10,000 what can you buy to sound like slash
@@tom_buggy You can buy a very good les paul, and Marshall SL2555+Cab, Boss GE7, and have some money left.
pickup height?
Nothing special, I dont measure them only adjust by ear for the best sound
@@JCMSlash thank you
the test would have been more authentic with the same pickups on the same guitar with identical settings.
The tonal differences of the guitars will skew this comparison.
Yeah thats correct, but its gonna be a full day of assembling/disassembling all parts, Maybe someday ill do it 🎩
excellent video! What neck profile do the guitars have????
Thanks, the 89 has a slim neck and very easy to play, the Victoria has a bigger neck but somehow the fretboard is very easy to play also. 🎩
Hey bro. Where did you get the 1986 pick ups from? How much did they cost?
Got them as soon as I saw someone selling, not easy to find, had a good deal.
