    I like how you also changed the knobs and toggle switch to match the real one 😀
    I don't regret changing Victoria's original pickup to new APH1s.

    The 86 was a bit more "stringy" sounding. Both sound great.

    Cool video! How much does the guitar itself contribute to the tones? I can hear more warmth and sustain in the 86 3piece top LP

      Thanks, as you said I guess that the guitar also adds to the sound rather than the pickups, the 86 pickups sound a bit warmer, and the goldtop sounds more bitey

      Thanks, yeah I had this mod on the SV20h before I got the SC20h and it sounded killer and amazing, with the sv20 and the hotmod you get instant EVH brown sound and 80's sounds with no pedals, the hot mod is really awesome to have, but remember that the sv20 doesnt have a master volume so the hot mod adds a bit more volume to the amp and more gain, so without some attenuator it will be very loud to open it to a good volume. I use the fryette ps2 on my amps so I dont have a problem with volumes.@@guitarlair

      @@JCMSlash nice!! I think I'll get one for my SV20, I don't really use any cabs, I mostly use IR's with my Loadbox so volume wouldn't be a problem!! thanks bro

    That 1986 pickup has an amazing tone, the 2021 sounds a little too bright

      Possibly because the magnetic field of the magnet bar gets slightly weaker as the years pass, and that pickup is definitely old

      Thanks, It's a mod that you can get from Legendary Tones, It works great with 800's and Plexi amps, awesome mod without the need of drilling or messing around with the amps wirings.

    the test would have been more authentic with the same pickups on the same guitar with identical settings.
    The tonal differences of the guitars will skew this comparison.

      Thanks, the 89 has a slim neck and very easy to play, the Victoria has a bigger neck but somehow the fretboard is very easy to play also. 🎩

      Got them as soon as I saw someone selling, not easy to find, had a good deal.
