This shows why Nirvana wasn't just a grunge band, Kurt Cobain made beautiful melodies that could be played in many other styles, Nirvana's work goes far beyond the simplicity they seemed to have.
Hmm. One thing crosses my mind after reading this comment. Kurt notoriously hated the Nevermind album. He thought it was too “poppy”, and not grunge enough. I think you are 100% right. But I think that Kurt DIDNT like how accessible the songs were. Deep down he wanted to remain some niche band that didn’t have mainstream success. But musical genius is musical genius. And he’d never be capable of stifling himself no matter how hard he’d even want to. The In Utero album was much rougher around the edges. But it’s still chalk full of brilliant melodies. Kurt was a known fan of the Beatles. Those melodies were something engrained in him, and they’d always come out in his song writing whether he liked it or not. Just imagine how much more his song writing could have matured in later years had we not lost him so soon.
These melodies that he made are insanely sophisticated and just shows that there was so much behind every song he made. Rip to the Legend

The best Nirvana's "Lithium" cover out there. It sounds so perfect, each instrument individually and as whole. You guys have done really amazing work, you deserve more views. Been listening all morning
I put Kurt up there with Townshend,McCartney etc. in the group of modern composers who will be remembered as writing some of the greatest chord progressions in history. Hearing them in classical form proves that. He had the gift. Rest in peace 🙏🏻
I love how angry everyone is over the word, "hipster". It's what they called this orchestra. If it said philharmonic, you wouldn't be so butt-hurt, but because it has the word "hipster" in it, it suddenly changes the audio? Your ears are broken and you are what's wrong with music. You don't hear with your eyes, stupid.
for those who wants to sing this version: I'm so happy because today I've found my friends They're in my head I'm so ugly, but that's okay, 'cause so are you We've broken our mirrors Sunday morning is everyday for all I care And I'm not scared Light my candles in a daze 'Cause I've found god Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah I'm so lonely but that's okay I shaved my head And I'm not sad And just maybe I'm to blame for all I've heard But I'm not sure I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet you there But I don't care I'm so horny but that's okay My will is good Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah I like it, I'm not gonna crack I miss you, I'm not gonna crack I love you, I'm not gonna crack I killed you, I'm not gonna crack I like it, I'm not gonna crack I miss you, I'm not gonna crack I love you, I'm not gonna crack I killed you, I'm not gonna crack I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends, They're in my head I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you, Broke our mirrors Sunday morning is everyday for all I care, And I'm not scared Light my candles in a daze 'Cause I've found god Yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah I like it, I'm not gonna crack I miss you, I'm not gonna crack I love you, I'm not gonna crack I killed you, I'm not gonna crack I like it, I'm not gonna crack I miss you, I'm not gonna crack I love you, I'm not gonna crack I killed you, I'm not gonna crack
This is amazing. I look up to you. I am in high school orchestra right now and I wish I were as good as that first violin. P.s. This is the best song ever
@StateOfIndiana it's nice to know you speak for Kurt and the crew. I would assure you that they would be flattered and intrigued by this cover...but since I don't speak for other people I can't.
@NonFerrousBueller How is it easy to hate one of the most talented bands of our generation? Hate the kids who wear the shirts who don't know who they are, hate the posers who only know about Nevermind, hate the add execs who try to capitalize on our childhood, don't hate a great band. Nirvana was popular because they made good music, not because they made music that was easy to sell...
yeah i have to say that i almost didn't check this out when it came up on my reccomendations simple because of the word hipster being in the title. glad i stopped and listened. really good.
I grew up with Nirvana. Lived and breathed Nirvana. The bottom line is, if they had to choose between someone covering a song in a DIFFERENT style or someone spewing HATE in THEIR name and further binding them to it as if it were no doubt their opinion...I'd say they'd likely rather listen to the cover than to some precocious youth rambling about assumptions...but that's my opinion and not verse...because I don't think for a moment that I speak for ANYONE.
@markrebec This is not hipster. By saying they are hipster, they go against the guidelines of being a hipster. Of these guidelines i cannot tell you because then it would not be hipster because you would know. I am indifferent towards your comment.
guys I've just heard your tunes on a vice documentary of libya, does anyone the songs on that documentary?... much appreciated... and BTW what a great band of yours! cheers from colombia
Ahh, I see...they could tone down the plucking noise in the studio version, but in the live you have to play a bit louder to blend with the violins, violas, cellos and whatnot hitting full volume. Still amazed by it though.
Some of the notes the lead violin played were interpreted to make his vocals more melodic, they should have went with how it sounded originally, even if his note wasn't perfectly in the scale.
Interesting cover, and yes, cobain was a hipster. He was out to prove sumthin whether it was thru his music or thru his own dysfunctional life, ultimately tho, its art man take it or leave it.
Kurt Cobain was a total hipster...he referenced things very few knew about, he dressed to show it didn't matter what he wore, and he was a complete snob. Also, "jingle punks hipster orchestra" is a terrible name, though this cover is gorgeous.
none of us actually knew kurt cobain. don't try to pretend like you're an insider on his life and personality just because you read a freaking biography or analyzed his song lyrics. get off your pedestal and stop making inaccurate judgements about how he would react to this video.
This shows why Nirvana wasn't just a grunge band, Kurt Cobain made beautiful melodies that could be played in many other styles, Nirvana's work goes far beyond the simplicity they seemed to have.
This.

Nirvana wrote some gorgeous music. Look at Polly or In Bloom.
Kurt was a genius
Makes you think what other kinds of melodies He could’ve made :/ Its so beautiful it makes me tear up a little.
These melodies that he made are insanely sophisticated and just shows that there was so much behind every song he made. Rip to the Legend

Wonderful... I knew it! There has always been something magical in Nirvana's music under the hood. This makes it explicit.
Yet nobody is making a big deal over it.
for those who wants to sing this version:
I'm so happy because today
I've found my friends
They're in my head
I'm so ugly, but that's okay, 'cause so are you
We've broken our mirrors
Sunday morning is everyday for all I care
And I'm not scared
Light my candles in a daze
'Cause I've found god
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

And just maybe I'm to blame for all I've heard
But I'm not sure
I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet you there
But I don't care
I'm so horny but that's okay
My will is good
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
I like it, I'm not gonna crack
I miss you, I'm not gonna crack
I love you, I'm not gonna crack
I killed you, I'm not gonna crack
I like it, I'm not gonna crack
I miss you, I'm not gonna crack

I miss you, I'm not gonna crack
I love you, I'm not gonna crack
I killed you, I'm not gonna crack
I got shivers when the chorus first dropped.
Did they use this In montage of heck 🤔
Yes
This is so beautiful. Made me tear up. Wow
Okay I'm a huge nirvana fan and this was great keep up the good work
i had goosebumps..that shows how great this cover is..
I'm getting married in April 2022 and I would die if you guys did a cover of one of our songs!
Smithereens - Twenty One Pilots
Holy Ghost - BORNS
For anyone that can’t see the connection between Metal and Classical, this masterpiece shows it all!
Lithium is grunge! Nirvana. And both are masterpieces.
One of my favorite songs... by my favorite band... is done like this. That's awesome!!!
Thank you for covering such a beutiful band!!!! Amazing job and long live NIRVANA!!!
Thank you to everyone involved in this
nirvana, ahh takes me back to being a teenager :) love it, that band made me strong at times when i needed it
I like it, but a version w/out the fretted instruments would be neat to hear as well.
This is amazing. I look up to you. I am in high school orchestra right now and I wish I were as good as that first violin.
P.s. This is the best song ever
Beautiful.
la melodía y armonía de esta canción es hermosa, creo que este tema es La Obra Maestra de Nirvana.
In a daze since I found Kurt.
@StateOfIndiana it's nice to know you speak for Kurt and the crew. I would assure you that they would be flattered and intrigued by this cover...but since I don't speak for other people I can't.
Awesome. You took my favorite song and made it better.
@Rich West I instantly thougth the same while reading Josh's comment, but the cover was great, of course not as good as the original.
@R W I can’t disagree
Yes! Home again
Whoever's playing the soprano violin of viola, whatever, is doing a really nice job!
This is beautiful.
awesome

I'm a huge Nirvana fan, and these covers usually suck, but that was beautiful. Great job!
GENIUS
Very nice. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
wow. This is AMAZING.
those violins are great
moondoggyJ55 I strongly agree. I want to be as good as them one day. ☺️
I get chills
wow - sounds incredible :)
I wonder about what the people who didn't like this would think I they saw how much time and energy they put into playing this.
Amazing.
THIS WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY AWESOME
Excellent! Great arrangement!
Amazing
That.. is awesome...
Amazing!!
Cool stuff!
Sgt. Nevermind
10 years lol

Great job!!!

Really guys, I'm still here and I think it's a masterpiece

Genios
Lovely, but yea I agree it would sound better without the guitars, all you hear is the picks scraping the strings. :/
fucking awesome
awesome ! :D
Some of the notes the lead violin played were interpreted to make his vocals more melodic, they should have went with how it sounded originally, even if his note wasn't perfectly in the scale.
WOW!!..... Besides that, they make it sound friendly.
Nirvana Forever¡¡¡
This should be in The Bridgerton Season 3. No doubts
@MrOrangeRhinoceros not orange?
awsome
Exquisite! Bellissimo! :)
Codebreaker Beautiful fortissimo
@1337w33d Since when orchestras are classified as hipster?
@STEELFISTSOFDOOM It's just the name of their whole group
Interesting cover, and yes, cobain was a hipster. He was out to prove sumthin whether it was thru his music or thru his own dysfunctional life, ultimately tho, its art man take it or leave it.
Noooooooo!!
WTF?!?
They've Juno'd another great tune.
this version seems much happier than the original which i thought was kind of depressing in a way.
edan euy hade pisan i love it
It's too happy!!! ;( btw violinist and bassist :3
enak parah
Bener bang
It sounds beautiful, in the opposite way Nirvana was intended but hey; it still sounds good.
Is montage heck use this?
@markrebec do any of these people look like "punks" or sound like a band that plays "jingles"
calm down
the players are not playing the melody i hear! but sounds great...
Whats the song you play for Vice?!
That was pro.
My favorite color is red.
@Kriskazam Well their not punks. So why would they call themselves Jingle Punks? I'm an Atheist, i'm not going to call myself a Christian.
You know you've made it big when they're making your songs into elevator music.
This was pretty cool. My favorite part was FRECKLE BITCH.
not much of an orchestra too few ppl lol but still impressive. would be more epic with a full orchestra with 40 or so ppl
Kurt Cobain was a total hipster...he referenced things very few knew about, he dressed to show it didn't matter what he wore, and he was a complete snob. Also, "jingle punks hipster orchestra" is a terrible name, though this cover is gorgeous.
heeyyyy! not bad at all :)
none of us actually knew kurt cobain. don't try to pretend like you're an insider on his life and personality just because you read a freaking biography or analyzed his song lyrics. get off your pedestal and stop making inaccurate judgements about how he would react to this video.
Isn't that great?
Where's the punks? I don't see any or hear anything that is punk.
