Any notary can be on a 9-5 schedule or any schedule they want to be on. That's why we're self-employed. We choose the hours that we want to work.
Oh.. I thought it was more or less talking about if you have a fulltime job...how to still have a thriving notary business.
Hi Steve! Of course, if a notary is self-employed, they can build their own work schedule. This workshop is geared towards someone who has full time employment and is a part time notary.
In my state (NJ), it is very difficult to get signings if you have a full time job (9-5). I currently work overnight (11pm-7am) and leave my mornings and afternoons for signings. However, it has not been working out for me. I have signed up with multiple platforms and companies. It is very slow. I’m not even getting 1 signing a week. Terrible! 😞😩 So far, I have done a dozen signings since started in June 2021.
Love to this video, you're so right you have to really plan out your business. Currently doing real estate and have often thought about doing the notary side of this as well. I've seen a couple of law offices that need a notary a couple of days a week. Trying to find the best local training and I'm wondering if I should go through the state that I live in or through the association of notaries. Thank you
Thanks for the very educational video, I was asking around. And your video popped up into my recommendation.!

Can you do notary work during the weekends as well?
Hello. Yes. As a Notary, you can schedule the hours and days you choose to work.
Hello, I just became a notary public, I want to start a business. Can I name my business different than how I sign? For instance my notary is my full name, and I want to create an EIN under a business name other than my full name.
If you do end up using a business name other than your own name, you need to file a “Doing Business As” name, or DBA (also referred to as a Fictitious Business Name or Assumed Business Name), generally at your county clerk office or with your state government.
@@NationalNotary thank you
Welcome to the business! And yes, absolutely you can. My Notary Commission signature is my name (obviously) but my business name is Golden Sierra Notary. Also, it's my understanding that you cannot have an EIN unless you actually have employees under you. So as a solo Notary, you'll simply use your social security number. (I won't swear to this, but check with your certified public accountant [CPA])
@@dinapreuss1922 awesome thank you 😊
@@AzizaHomes-Keller-Williams you're very welcome. I hope you have great success!
The HR Department has no need to know anything that I do on my own time. Hell NO!!
