Hope all of you enjoy this video! I'm in the process of moving to a new city, so unfortunately the next video will be a little delayed. I'm excited to take a look at the brass section next!
Alex have a safe move. These videos are packed with great examples so I have a lot to digest. Again thanks for the work you are putting into this! Really super examples and commentary.
I always feel like I learn a lot from these videos and can genuinely understand what they're trying to convey. Thank you for all the work you put into them.
Hi Alex. I've binged your content this whole week. Very good videos and learn a lot from this. I like that you a score presented alongside the piano roll, can see that you put a lot of time into this. Help me a lot due to my less trained reading skill. Thanks a lot!
Your videos are just what I was looking for as I am a rookie professional orchestrator (adding orchestra to pop/rock performances). I felt very validated at 6:25 because I had that idea when you first showed the piano example haha. I have a question if you don't mind. I have been tasked with adding woodwinds to an existing show for rock band and string section (1 bass, 3 cello, 3 viola, 3 violin 2, 3 violin 1). I was thinking to just add something simple like 3 flutes and 3 oboes and skip the lower register woodwinds as they probably won't be heard. Does this sound about right to you?
Glad the videos are helpful! As to your question, without knowing how the music sounds I can't really say -- but chances are bassoons aren't going to be heard. High clarinets might be, along with flutes/piccolo, maybe oboes as well. Depends on so many things though!
