  • @thisisdefinitelymyrealname

    - Weavile lacks immediate, high offensive pressure + "Gliscor is scary"
    - Latios is too SLOW and frail (it flies faster than fighter jets)
    - my steel-type without levitate is my only other defense VS earthquake
At the risk of sounding like a broken record:
if you told this to players in like 2012 they would probably fall into a coma
On a more serious note getting to see the teambuilding process again from the ground up + the reasoning is massive. I'm the type of player who has a hard time getting a grasp on concepts that mostly go unspoken and are second nature to more experienced players; specifically:
    - Don't build defensively, build offensively and focus on being able to break as many different opponents as possible (unless you're going stall)
    - Avoid adding sets until you have (mostly) finalized all 6 members of the team
    - On team preview, think long-term as in "who needs to be healthy, who checks who, what is the easiest way for my opponent to wincon me"
Stuff like that is the kind of stuff that wouldn't click playing through the game normally, so it's a massive boost to see this.
Finally, I was going to joke about how weak this team is to Knock Off due to a lack of Headlong Tusk and Rapid Treads... but looking at it again, only Sinistcha and Volc are vulnerable. Pickpocket Weavile is also utterly hilarious for that lol

I think it would be really cool if you delved into playstyles more, as whenever I try to introduce folks to competitive Pokemon, playstyles and team archetypes is the thing that usually eludes folks the most. Even just going over examples of what defines archetypes, like differentiating Offense and Hyper Offense, or what makes a team Balance as opposed to Hazards Defense or Stall, would be very great
That being said, this video does a great overview on general teambuilding :]

    • @pinkacross2042
      @pinkacross2042  8 месяцев назад +3

I knew I wanted to run Hstack with Sinistcha, and I wanted it to be an HO. There's only one pokemon that's good at setting SR and Spikes for HO in one slot, and that is Ting-Lu. As for the speed, it takes practice. In this particular video, the building is staged. In reality, it probably took me about twice as long, then I recorded and re-explained the process.

ok so I ended up building a team while loosely following the rules in this video.
Hilariously, it got me to breach 1400 and I've been able to maintain 1400 for the past few battles.

    Explanation:
    1. Fire-Water-Grass Special Offense core
1.2 It's not meant to be "sustainable" per se, it's just raw offense: tear them down by any means necessary
1.3 Leech Seed to force more switches when they switch in
    2. The best supporter: Dragonite, for resistances and sweeps
2.5 For some reason, everyone saccs Kingambit out at Kleavor and Primarina, so...
    3. After the first 4 mons were added, how do I patch up the team? One word: hazards, introducing Kleavor and Tusk
    4. I went with Kleavor because it hits harder than Samurott, and I hate stealth rock
    Post-battle notes:
1.4 Specs Primarina is utterly hilarious. Gets 2-3 shotted by literally anything, but by the time it goes down, it's made way too much progress on the opposing team (unless we're dealing with Glowking)
1.5 I tried Swarm Silverpowder Tera Bug Buzz. I ended up never clicking Bug Buzz once.
4.2 Adamant ended up being better, it's more consistent than Jolly
4.3 Tailwind is utterly hilarious on a sui-lead mon, literally everyone outruns things they have no right to outrun; that 1 turn of outspeed makes the difference
4.4 Tera Normal Quick Attack is also hilarious for making progress, or even SD for things like cheeky Garganacl
4.5 Sash is the best item on this thing, nobody sees it coming and they lose all their HO sweepers to Kleavor
Yes, Kleavor makes the most amount of progress. Obviously, Weakness Policy Dnite wins games more than anything else, but Kleavor is such a hilarious addition to this
I wish Great Tusk had more speed so it could have more Attack while maintaining proto speed
I'm quite happy with this so far, given the hilarity that ensues from this
The team's "I don't care about dying as long as I take you down with me" playstyle throws a lot of people off balance; as in, they expect a switch/crapmove more often than not, but they end up losing 80% - 120% on a mon

    • @pinkacross2042
      @pinkacross2042  9 месяцев назад

Yes, I did do one test game beforehand! The building recording was somewhat faked, the actual process behind building the team took a lot of silently staring at the tier and thinking... things that don't make for a very engaging video. The recorded building was very similar to the actual building, just sped up and with less hesitation.
