This is the best review I've seen of this movie so far. I couldn't agree more and you hit the nail right on the head about how people will react to this ending. I thought it was one of the funniest scenes I've seen in the theater in a very long time.
Great review. I was born in 1960, so I grew up on the "cheap pulp" films shown on CBS Late Movie and Saturday Night Late Movie, and all the films on the VHF/UHF "independent" channels...the ones where each market had it's own "Ghoul" host for the Friday or Saturday Fright Theater. It was an awesome time to grow up in and truly see the forgotten gems, made on a shoestring budget with stars and relatives of stars (Neil Connery!). I miss that time of broadcast tv, before the vast desert of cable where everything just seems to get lost.
Best film of the year. Quentin Tarantino continues to evolve as a writer and director. This time he shot a huge love letter to the golden age of Hollywood. Another masterful piece in film making. Fantastic performances all around, particularly Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. And a climactic end! Thank you Tarantino! \(^o^)/
Well done James. I went to see this movie in the UK this afternoon - absolutely loved it! I've got a feeling that people who go into the cinema not actually knowing the history of the Manson murders may be a little lost, but I found the build up of tension (when I believed I was going to have to watch the horrible murder of a character that Tarantino made you love) become an orgy of comedic violence fantastic. I'll have to see it a few more times, but right now it rates up there with Pulp Fiction for me. Keep the excellent reviews coming.
Thanks for such a detailed review! All the reviews I've seen so far for this movie seem very lackluster. Most folks seem uninterested and disappointed in this film, and I was almost ready to just not bother seeing this. But your enthusiastic and positive review, along with detailed explanations as to why you felt this way, really helped me gain the interest to watch this film. What I get from your review is that this seems more like a passion project for Tarantino. Yes, he's known for kind of bloody, over the top violence, (and it sounds like the ending of this film delivers that), but I think the more muted tone of this film might have turned some folks off. Unfortunately they might have had some preconceived thoughts on what this film was about, and hyped themselves up about it, (only to be disappointed). Thank you for giving such a detailed, enthusiastic, and personal review. You've sold me on this!
Many thanks! I really appreciate the feedback and hope you enjoy the flick. The film's tone definitely caught me off guard at first but I eventually got into the spirit of things in a big way. I imagine I'll enjoy it even more the next time around now that I know what to expect.
Great review James! I had to stop at the 4:55 mark but I can't wait to see Quentin Tarantino newest flick! Might check out those other films QT talked about on the Pure Cinema Podcast that inspired the film as well.
Love your reviews man. I feel exactly the same way about once upon a time in Hollywood. Absolutely loved it. Saw it last night. I'm dying to see it again. I hope this isn't his last film.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is such a unique film going experience. The meticulous recreation of 1969 Hollywood and the brilliant sweeping shots Tarantino uses to romanticize it is endlessly fascinating. Tarantino finally examines the melancholy side of nostalgia and the result is heartwarming and powerful. It is not a movie for everyone. It’s a slow burn that’s deliberately paced but teases the inevitable shocking ending every step of the way. I loved it. A masterclass of direction. I do think it lacks Tarantino’s signature dialogue though. I needed my Jules/Vincent “Royale with Cheese”, “Foot massage”, “Walk the earth” scenes between Pitt/DiCaprio that showed their bromance on fully display. The movie also needed more DaKota Fanning (who is remarkable in her one scene), Margot Robbie (the heart and soul of the movie), and Margaret Qualley (explosively temptous and creepy at the same time). That woulda made it the perfect movie.
I know I am late.....but i think this is Tarantinos best film....it is mature, nuanced, and really funny but not in "THE FUNNY" way.....I loved every minute of it
I think, what works (for those of us who actually admire Tarantino) is that is his least violent film and also the most touching one. I did also enjoy every second... I struggle to identify Tarantino at the begining, but that was special, I didn't know he could get off rails that way, he surprised me in every way possible; he NEVER juxtapose scenes if they're not related, here he does, many times; we never saw such a beautiful unspoken relationship like Dalton & Cliff's; he never spends so much time in scenes without dialogues... everything you don't expect from Tarantino happens here, it really feels special, the movie was nothing I was expecting and more of what I thought I was going to watch.
Hi James ~ This is my favorite Tarantino movie to date. I grew up in LA and was ten years old the summer Manson and his followers went on their murderous rampage. Seeing this movie brought back so many nostalgic memories no doubt to the soundtrack and the radio DJ’s “93 KHJ” and commercials they showcased in the movie. I thought the cast was great and was so happy Brady Pitt won the Oscar. 100% in agreement with your review 👍
Thanks for the great review James. I am not a fan of all his movies but at least he is an actual filmmaker compared to much of the current movies are superhero pap. They do not deserve to be described or defined as film imho
The art of film is definitely at a strange juncture but as long as there are a few legit directors out there leading the charge, I'll be a happy moviegoer.
Geekin' with James Hancock you are a happy optimist as they say. The vast majority of releases I hear about seem to be remakes and reboots and sequels and comic book superhero’s. True there are some originals like this seems to be. Hope springs eternal☮️
Man oh man did I adore this film. and those who didn’t like it on first watch, I strongly review seeing it again. I have a suspicion that like Jackie Brown, those who don’t like it at the time will only grow to love it as time goes on. I predict this movie will go down as one of QT’s finest films when all is said and done. Terrific review as always, James.
Just saw it. Amazing!!! Not one bad thing to say about it. I will definitely see it again. There were so many parallels. But what blew me away was the use of subverted expectation. I have grown to hate the use of this tool in films (mostly because directors are now willing to utterly disappoint viewers just to create a surprise, and that's b.s.), but it was used so well this time. This might be my favorite Tarantino film.
here in 2020 when the already struggling theater experience has been put on life support, i have an even greater appreciation for seeing this film on the big screen with a great crowd. OUATIH and Endgame were lots of fun and demostrated that the filmgoing experiance just cant be matched in your Livingroom even with a great hdtv. Even this year i was able to see classics such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Goonies, and Akira on the big screen. I hope theaters can bounce back or at the very least survive as a New Beverly esque niche form of hobby
Just saw it and I think 8.7 would be a accurate score. Great movie, acting and characters. The 2 hour and 40 mins fly by and you feel like you could watch Leo and brad for 10+ hours. In the end though, there’s a lack of a character arc and meaningful story. Definitely not as good as inglorious bastards or Django, but really only because of the ending. I liked the movie better when it was realistic. The ending should have been done differently in my opinion. Weird choice which was disappointing, he could have thought of a much better way to get to the same result. Also they should have gave Bruce lee more screen time, maybe show a few more of his interactions with cliff
I know I'm five days late, but I had to see the movie first before I watched your review, James. I went in cold, with no knowledge of twists or spoilers, and was all the better for it. Loved the film, and I agree with everything you said, though I suspect some will not like Tarantino's shift of gears in this film. As it stands, it may end up having some of my favorite stand alone scenes in any movie, from Tate watching herself onscreen in The Wrecking Crew to Pitt taking on Bruce Lee, and the ending, where we see some of the worst human beings who ever lived, get exactly what they deserved, made the movie for me.
I went in blind last night didn't know what to expect other than some of QT's films are among my favorites.I was rewarded with some of the best scenes and raw acting talent I had seen in a long time. The seen where Sharon was watching The Wrecking Crew in the theater touched me and at the time wasn't sure why. After thinking about it it was because she genuinely was happy that she could bring joy into people's lives through her acting and I believe was in it for the right reasons.I also think Sharon represents a innocence most of us wish we could go back to.I haven't fully digested the movie I'm going to have to do a second watch. Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt were amazing together in this film.
@@paulg.7063 A lot of people feared the worst when it was announced that Tarantino was making a movie about the Manson murders, that we would have to watch a bloody and violent recreation of Sharon Tate's murder, but I was amazed at the respect Tarantino showed her in his film, and equally glad that he gave little time and attention to Manson and his horrible "family." They don't deserve it, she does.
@@gregoryandrus5322 Her "director's chair" said Trudi Frasier. Her character's name was Marabella Lancer I think. So I assume it's meant that the girl was inspired by Meryl Streep.
Great review, I loved this film, the level of detail is incredible. Interesting you mentioned Tarantinos films set in Los Angeles having a certain extra energy to them. Totally agree with that. I'm hoping if he only makes one more, his last film might be set in L.A. I read somewhere that if he made a film set in the 70s, he would make a detective noir style movie. I'd love him to make a film like that, maybe have Brad Pitt and Samuel L Jackson as detectives in 70s L.A. with all the potential music and stylistic choices he could make, seems like that would be a cool film to end on. Then maybe make a tv show of 40 lashes less one :)
Favorite part was the tense ranch seen, creepy. I would like to see QT direct a late 70s early 80s style Halloween, Black Christmas, Friday the 13th film.
That scene is nuts, its so creepy and Brad Pitt just braves through it like a man. Its so funny how when he gets to his car with the slashed tire most people would be like oo no im fucked now, and he does that whole other awesome thing instead. I havent watched a movie with such awe and interest in a long time.
@@SeasideStrangler Pitt's character is intended to be the real life version of the characters Rick Dalton plays in the movies haha. That scene had great dialogue.
Watched today "Once upon a time...in Hollywood". Weird sensation, maybe I was waiting another kind of film, but it hasn't disappointed me. There are really good things, Di Caprio is fantastic as Rick Dalton, Brad Pitt steals the show with his Cliff Booth, love this guy and his mood. There is this little girl actress, Julia Butters, she nails it. The Bruce Lee situation, the perfect Tarantino situation. The Spahn Ranch situation, a new kind of Tarantino. And the third part of the film, oh, boy!. I've had the strange sensation that there are a lot of stuff that has been cut, I don't know if important or not, but in some moments I felt that some more interaction between Rick and Cliff, or Rick with other characters. Even Sharon, is great how Tarantino has used the character, but maybe something more of something, I don't know, At the end I've had the feeling of have been in that moment, in 1969, the look of the movie, the light of L.A, the absolutly awesome soundtrack. It's been strange, but I liked it. And I'm going to watch it again for sure. God bless Quentin Tarantino. I'm going to miss the cinema of someone who understands the power of music in this fashion. Long live the cinema and the music! :)
It always bugs me when people think is a gotcha to say George Lucas and Quentin Tarantino were inspired by other directors like Akira Kurosawa as if knowledge of the craft is a bad thing. Most movie directors nowadays seem inspired by the Michael Bay school of movie making wich consist in desperately shaking the camera during action scenes to avoid the audience the chance to know what the hell is going on. By contrary to that Tarantino has always excelled to keep the action on focus and the audience concentrated in what he wants to show.
I agree. My mind is not changed. I have never liked his bloodbath endings. Especially now that they are mandatory, it seems. Not to mention his feet problem. Come on!! I am love with this until the last 20 minutes.
Kenneth Cunningham I agree with you. I felt like if he wanted to include that type of ending, it would of been incredibly powerful if Tate died off screen, giving the events of the ending more weight. It’s like he couldn’t contain himself and went full fairytale, which for me made the arc of Tate redundant. Pleased I’m not the only one that felt this way. Outside of that last couple of minutes, it’s the best film I’ve seen in a long time.
My friend! 💪🏽. The ending threw it off for me, and I love Tarantino. I caught the last show (11:50 PM); at the Alamo theater; on the last day it was showing on the mega screen there; in a NYC, restaurant service-themed ambiance. I had the cheeseburger deluxe and settled in for what I had guaranteed myself would be a great viewing experience. Sometimes, as a filmmaker, doing a movie of a historical event can get boring. The good thing about Tarantino’s creative direction seems to bring out the best in these great starring actors (acclaimed in their own right). That is what Tarantino is great at himself. However, the movie was overdrawn in some scenes leading to otherwise boredom. Too much was conveyed about the history of film production around the time of this American tragedy. Tarantino went a little too far on the back story for this film. That is not a crime in itself; however, the film is marketed as the Tate/Manson murder story. Maybe it was a bad marketing pitch; maybe it’s the difficulty of presenting historical events, but ultimately Tarantino has to take the blame for a poor ending to a somewhat entertaining film. Most notable was the scene that Dalton roughs up the legendary fight trainer, turned actor, Bruce Lee on a back lot in Hollywood. I originally thought to myself: did that really happen? There was that doubt and it was entertaining. However, the onslaught of the re-enactment of the Tate murders would not be so readily received -and, actually, poorly done even for revisionist history. Then it becomes abundantly clear that the film was meticulously written for the backstory actors of Pitt and DiCaprio rather than for the audience. Admittedly, that’s Tarantino’s style, unapologetically. He’s a genius when it works; unmatched when it’s pulp fiction; but not quite there in a few of his film projects. This being one of them. The story did not justify the ending -unlike the Bruce Lee scene that seemed natural albeit questionable.
very good review my man, you hit the nail on the head. Tarantino's films don't need the plots to be their driving force, but the characters and the atmosphere do that especially well in this movie. It's both intense and lighthearted, and hilariously funny and violent - one of my favorites of the decade for sure
Well, I'm glad you liked it. To me, this was the first one of his films I did not truly enjoy. There were individual scenes that enjoyed but as a whole the movie was a bit of a mess. And the ending seemed like it belonged to another movie.
I really enjoyed the film and look forward to repeated viewings. I thought Pitt and Dcap were great. I wasn't as impressed with Robbies' performance. She wasn't bad I just thought she wasn't special either besides being naturally gorgeous and charismatic. All she did was smile and dance. And I didn't like how her character felt the need to charm her way into a free showing. She can afford the 75 cents she's Polanskis wife.
Finally a movie for adults! I suffer from superhero burnout syndrome. I didn't even see the last Avengers movie (I'll catch it on Netflix). Cinema has been so derivative and bland for the last couple of years. It's just the same movies dressed up in new clothing released every year. Once Upon A Time In America is the ONLY movie I care about in 2019.
I totally get where you're coming from and I like your Freudian slip where you gave a shout out to Sergio Leone's 'Once Upon a Time in America'. It's one of my all-time favorite movies.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock Ooops! I just saw that. Once Upon A Time In America is a classic. I LOVED Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Saw it last Friday. Probably my second favorite Tarantino movie behind Pulp Fiction. Scenes as simple as Brad Pitt driving home to his trailer are so rich and full of detail. Cliff's trailer is filled with Sgt Fury comic books, Marx Johnny West figures, an Anne Francis poster and so many cool little details that I'll probably find new things every time I watch this movie. Instant classic.
I don't get why everyone is saying the Sharon Tate character had nothing to do....her character was as fleshed out as it needed to be, considering the alternate history path the story takes. It was enough attention to her to make you feel tension knowing what was going to happen(based on history).
@@geekinwithJamesHancock Edgar Wright had an amazing triple feature he did of Raising Arazone, Evil Dead 2, and ended it with Riki-oh: The story of Ricky.
Geekin' with James Hancock I think so based on the reviews I’ve seen so far and this being my most anticipated movie of the year, should be good times 😁
Geekin' with James Hancock okay I just saw it. Not my fav QT film but still really good! Yeah that home invasion scene had me and the entire audience cracking up 😂 I loved that Bruce Lee scene, that was fantastic Leo and Brad are perfection I hope we see more of them on screen together in the future
I find it strange that QT is putting a cap on his career. He is one of the few lucky people to break out of virtual obscurity to do a job he dreamed of & now he wants to give it up? In a way it’s kind of a shun to being successful & doing what you love where most people would give anything to have that.
I think he just feels he doesn't have anything left to give and doesn't want to ruin his reputation with a lot of subpar work like other directors have.
QT also happily said in a recent interview after getting married he wanted to start a family, end on a high note with his film directing career, and focus on working in television 📺 time will tell.

I would certainly like to see Tarantino do Star Trek! 😱💪🏽🖤. The franchise needs saving. 😏🤨🤔 I noticed that you haven’t done a reaction to the Star Trek Discovery: Season 3 Trailer. I liked season 1 somewhat and absolutely loved the second half of season 2. Seeing what they are planning for season 3, however, makes me sick to my stomach. 😖😤🤬✌️
It’s sad that rick is actully a really great actor and just can’t get the roles he wants. One thing however. Spoilers Since rick did the Italian westerns, for the life of me I can’t remeber the reason he became too broke to have cliff around/ thinks his acting days are fully over with. I can’t rembee the reason behind it. But the end is lovely, the gates open for his new opportunity as An actor opens up in front of him, making the a list friends he needs to make. Brilliant shot and score, mixed with the bittersweet of it all. Great ending. Loved this movie. He never disappoints. Well death proof he did. His only rotten egg
Not sure I agree with your assessment of the Bruce Lee fight scene. For some reason QT decided to present Lee like a vain buffoon, making ridiculous noises and quite average as a fighter. No wonder Lee's daughter was angry.
Hey thanks. saw it twice over weekend at dome. Wasn't so sure how much I liked it. Then saw it Sunday again and loved it. Going again. Loved ending. You saw it in NYC? Didn't know screening there too.
Replying to comment regarding. Dalton. Looking like Dennis hopper, the guy who suggests it reminds mr of henna Fonda. I heard other people. Compare cliff to Robert redford
Great review just saw it and will definitely see multiple times . What did you think of the last legion episode and the amazing peace love and understanding part.. I enjoy all your reviews since twin peaks return thanks for all u do cinifile!
I've only liked one Quentin Tarantino movie and that was "lnglorious Bastards". And it was the performance by Brad Pitt that sold it. After seeing the trailer I might be inclined to drop the cash to see this. Thanks, James
There are no black people in the movie no black characters and no black actors in the movie. Yeah it's about Charles Manson who wanted to blame the murders on black people so I hope someone addresses this issue.
💜In real life there was one black man who Charlie Manson did try to kill. I think he was a drug dealer, but Charlie wasn't able to and the man would eventually talk to the police. I read that Samuel Jackson was going to be in this movie or maybe his part was edited out. If so he'll probably be in the director's cut. I don't think he's playing that drug dealer because he's much older than the man would have been in the 1970s. There definitely wouldn't have been any black people socializing with the Manson family, but I am surprised if they don't have any black actors in the hollywood scenes.💜
Was excited for this, but was really disappointed. I enjoy when Tarantino takes true stories & changes them up, but I think this one truly failed (where Django & Inglorious Bastards succeed). I don’t wanna hear I’m being overly sensitive, but the treatment of women in this movie... Whew. (Also, confused about your comment on Robbie doing her “best work” when she was hardly in it & didn’t add ANYTHING to the movie.) Spoilers: Liked the ending, I really did. But I wish they didn’t include Sharon Tate, literally wouldn’t have made a difference if it was just another celebrity. I get that it’s “once upon a time” so obviously a happy ending to a true story. However, it came across as that if the Manson family went into another house, they would’ve been stopped. Almost as if, it’s Sharon Tate’s, & friends, fault they were unable to fight off the Manson family. For example, in Django, Django gets revenge. But in this case, two random guys who didn’t exist protect her from the murders. Also, were we supposed to feel bad for Pitt’s character? How sad it was that he can’t get work, although, everyone is PRETTY convinced he killed his wife (even his BEST FRIEND doesn’t say he’s innocent, just that it “wasn’t proven”). & The scene obviously portraying the wife as annoying for what? To justify killing her? One more thing that I thought was an interesting choice. If you’re aware of Tarantino endangering Uma Therman, I saw parallels with the scene with DiCaprio’s character & the little girl. DiCaprio’s character THREW the little girl on the ground, possibly injuring her, however, she was wearing arm pads. Like it’s her job to protect herself even though someone else is putting her in danger. It reminded me of the Uma situation, almost like Tarantino is saying it was Uma’s job to protect herself even though he put her in danger...
It was boring and it dragged. There was no story and it meandered ALL over the place. The ending was a farce and solidified the film as just fanfic. QT used to be a legend, but now he's as irrelevant as Rick Dalton.
You are the best reviewer on RUclips. Please keep going, It will pay off.

As it stands, it may end up having some of my favorite stand alone scenes in any movie, from Tate watching herself onscreen in The Wrecking Crew to Pitt taking on Bruce Lee, and the ending, where we see some of the worst human beings who ever lived, get exactly what they deserved, made the movie for me.
the quality of the movie was great and sound track. Acting was phenomenal and the ending was good roger than that pretty damn boring
Meryl Streep. the child actress (actor) was playing an eight year old Meryl Streep. "that was the best acting i have ever seen in my life..."
I have read other commenters say she was Meryl Streep. How are people arriving at that conclusion? The girl did not give that is her name.
@@gregoryandrus5322 Her "director's chair" said Trudi Frasier. Her character's name was Marabella Lancer I think. So I assume it's meant that the girl was inspired by Meryl Streep.
The final scene reminded me of final third of Mandy with Cage being coked up taking on the biker group.
Good call!
I agree with EVERYTHING you said! This was the most fun I’ve had at the movies in years!
The best review of this on RUclips.....love to see it on a double bill with the genius Russ Meyer's Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Russ Meyer's name should be uttered in the same breath as Scorsese, Hitchcock, Kubrick et al
Even Sharon, is great how Tarantino has used the character, but maybe something more of something, I don't know,
At the end I've had the feeling of have been in that moment, in 1969, the look of the movie, the light of L.A, the absolutly awesome soundtrack.
It's been strange, but I liked it. And I'm going to watch it again for sure.
God bless Quentin Tarantino. I'm going to miss the cinema of someone who understands the power of music in this fashion.
Long live the cinema and the music! :)
Very cool, Mario! Sorry you had to wait so long for the movie to get a release in Spain. Glad you enjoyed it!
You brought up three movies I loved. The Chase, Getting Straight and CC and Company.
It was just dragging towards the middle. The end just like a multiverse.
John Smitherson The ending was FANTASTIC though
It always bugs me when people think is a gotcha to say George Lucas and Quentin Tarantino were inspired by other directors like Akira Kurosawa as if knowledge of the craft is a bad thing. Most movie directors nowadays seem inspired by the Michael Bay school of movie making wich consist in desperately shaking the camera during action scenes to avoid the audience the chance to know what the hell is going on. By contrary to that Tarantino has always excelled to keep the action on focus and the audience concentrated in what he wants to show.
100% agree with all of the above.
Tarantino, please make a sequel to this movie. I'd love to see Cliff and Rick going on a new adventure with their new friends. xD
Great review!
Much obliged, Sergio!
My friend!
Excellent movie and review. Any other good 60s recommendations?
very good review my man, you hit the nail on the head. Tarantino's films don't need the plots to be their driving force, but the characters and the atmosphere do that especially well in this movie. It's both intense and lighthearted, and hilariously funny and violent - one of my favorites of the decade for sure
I think I will watch Segio Corbucci Django (1966) and The Great Silence (1968) before I watch this movie.
Both of those would be the perfect appetizer.
A magnificent review! Thank you!!
Well, I'm glad you liked it. To me, this was the first one of his films I did not truly enjoy. There were individual scenes that enjoyed but as a whole the movie was a bit of a mess. And the ending seemed like it belonged to another movie.
Just subbed! Excellent video!
Glad you enjoyed my rant and thanks so much for the sub!
Geekin' with James Hancock check out some of my beats man would love feedback.
8:39 not sure if anyone caught the German three from Inglorious Basterds by Manson. Lol 😂
good call!
I hope Quentin Tarantino really does a Star Trek
i loved how there was a western built into the movie with brad pitts character and the hippie ranch
loved this review!
I may have seen you a few times at the New Beverly
One of the best theaters in the world. I spent many happy hours there.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock Edgar Wright had an amazing triple feature he did of Raising Arazone, Evil Dead 2, and ended it with Riki-oh: The story of Ricky.
BTW CC Rider with Joe Namath was at New Bev last week.
I stopped at the spoilers section can’t wait to see this movie!
Nice! Hope you dig it!
Geekin' with James Hancock I think so based on the reviews I’ve seen so far and this being my most anticipated movie of the year, should be good times 😁
Geekin' with James Hancock okay I just saw it. Not my fav QT film but still really good!
Yeah that home invasion scene had me and the entire audience cracking up 😂
I loved that Bruce Lee scene, that was fantastic
Leo and Brad are perfection I hope we see more of them on screen together in the future
What would you rate it out of 10?

I find it strange that QT is putting a cap on his career. He is one of the few lucky people to break out of virtual obscurity to do a job he dreamed of & now he wants to give it up? In a way it’s kind of a shun to being successful & doing what you love where most people would give anything to have that.
I think he just feels he doesn't have anything left to give and doesn't want to ruin his reputation with a lot of subpar work like other directors have.
💜I think he wants to do novels and plays. I don't believe he'll never do nothing movie. He just wants to do other things now.💜
QT also happily said in a recent interview after getting married he wanted to start a family, end on a high note with his film directing career, and focus on working in television 📺 time will tell.

My favorite characters are Pussycat, and Brandy the dog.
I would certainly like to see Tarantino do Star Trek! 😱💪🏽🖤. The franchise needs saving. 😏🤨🤔
I noticed that you haven’t done a reaction to the Star Trek Discovery: Season 3 Trailer. I liked season 1 somewhat and absolutely loved the second half of season 2. Seeing what they are planning for season 3, however, makes me sick to my stomach. 😖😤🤬✌️
Just watched this last night!!!!!!! 10/10 loved it going agian this weekend to watch it with the boy best movie of the year 👍🏻
As a QT fan, this movie could've been so much better... I wanted this to be my fav of the year but that's impossible.
Awesome review! I absolutely loved this film!
Really smart review. Loved the movie, watched it twice!
Cliff Booth is basically a super hero for people who are not into super heroes
I think you should do more like a discussion kind of review not all scripted its taking my out from the review when I see you reading from the screen
Probably going to give this film a watch.
It was so good.
Sally Menke edited Death Proof and Kill Bill 2 both of which had scenes that were self indulgent and dragged on.
and how leos character plays in cowboy movies while his stunt man actually is a cowboy
It’s sad that rick is actully a really great actor and just can’t get the roles he wants. One thing however. Spoilers
Since rick did the Italian westerns, for the life of me I can’t remeber the reason he became too broke to have cliff around/ thinks his acting days are fully over with.
"If only for the shot of Harrison Ford playing a spaced out stoner." So pretty much like seeing him in real life. Haha
Not sure I agree with your assessment of the Bruce Lee fight scene. For some reason QT decided to present Lee like a vain buffoon, making ridiculous noises and quite average as a fighter. No wonder Lee's daughter was angry.
The ending was fantastic.
Hey thanks. saw it twice over weekend at dome. Wasn't so sure how much I liked it. Then saw it Sunday again and loved it. Going again. Loved ending. You saw it in NYC? Didn't know screening there too.
I got into the press screening on Monday evening. I'm dying to see it again. I suspect that I'll like it even more the second time around.
Great video 👍
UGH! What movie did you watch?
If you're attempting to be clever, try harder.
Finally watched... no mention of Luke Perry's cameo. Prob his last.
Good review! Love Tarantino...thx!
To save his face Tarantino had to go to Sony or Universal studios because of his previous deal with Miramax and we all know who use to owned Miramax
You favor Damian Lewis a bit.
Many thanks! That dude's a stud.
I've only liked one Quentin Tarantino movie and that was "lnglorious Bastards". And it was the performance by Brad Pitt that sold it. After seeing the trailer I might be inclined to drop the cash to see this. Thanks, James
Inglourious Basterds is my favorite Tarantino movie. If you enjoyed that, there's a good chance you'll get into this. Brad Pitt's amazing in it.
Saw movie. Pitt is my fav in movie. Perfect character.
Fuck, I really want to watch this movie again, so GOOD 🔥
I loved the ending & film. I want to go back to watch again. Tripping my own balls off
I don't think Margot Robbie was amazing in the movie she was just ok , Pitt on the other hand is amazing in this movie
You are Michael Keaton, I can see through your bald disguise
Guilty!
There are no black people in the movie no black characters and no black actors in the movie. Yeah it's about Charles Manson who wanted to blame the murders on black people so I hope someone addresses this issue.
Why would that matter tho?
💜In real life there was one black man who Charlie Manson did try to kill. I think he was a drug dealer, but Charlie wasn't able to and the man would eventually talk to the police.
I read that Samuel Jackson was going to be in this movie or maybe his part was edited out. If so he'll probably be in the director's cut. I don't think he's playing that drug dealer because he's much older than the man would have been in the 1970s.
There definitely wouldn't have been any black people socializing with the Manson family, but I am surprised if they don't have any black actors in the hollywood scenes.💜
SPOILER!
Pitt smashes a girls face on a mantle piece
Amazing movie!
Brad Pitt is alpha
Oof! I don't think I can trust your taste anymore. :/
are you sure you watched the same movie
You're tripping over your own sarcasm. Work on your grammar and try again.
Was excited for this, but was really disappointed. I enjoy when Tarantino takes true stories & changes them up, but I think this one truly failed (where Django & Inglorious Bastards succeed).
I don’t wanna hear I’m being overly sensitive, but the treatment of women in this movie... Whew. (Also, confused about your comment on Robbie doing her “best work” when she was hardly in it & didn’t add ANYTHING to the movie.)
Spoilers:
Liked the ending, I really did.
It reminded me of the Uma situation, almost like Tarantino is saying it was Uma’s job to protect herself even though he put her in danger...
feminists aren't what movies are made for. And yes, you're overly sensitive and one of those who count how many minutes women get in movies....SMH.
Most boring movie of 2019..
not entertaining
I completely loved OUTinH. But, hippies did get a bad rap in this flick. We need more hippies believe me, especially today.
It was boring and it dragged. There was no story and it meandered ALL over the place. The ending was a farce and solidified the film as just fanfic. QT used to be a legend, but now he's as irrelevant as Rick Dalton.
This review starts as a joke, this movie was super boring.
Worst Tarantino movie
Spiderman far from home > Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
lol, to each their own

@@geekinwithJamesHancock This movie totally shits on Bruce Lee tho, I dont think its very respectful in a way. Are you good with that?
