I am from around the same area the Russel is from and know many musicians some I am sure you have heard of and some a bit more obscure as I was heavily involved in the industry about 20 years back, working in a popular to the area recording studio as an assistant engineer as well as a session guitar and drum player if duty called, as well as background vocals. I guess going to a concert and witnessing amazing talent in front of you is not what it is about, no you have to have a person that looks like they are gender confused so you can stand there and stare while gyrating to make your little appendage rub against the socks you stuffed your spandex with all the while dreaming of ravaging the skinny little singer before you. I had the privilege of meeting Russel a few years back and I can tell you he is a down to earth great dude, totally missing the "rock star" attitude, also he is a tall guy that can absolutely handle himself. I would much rather see a concert with Russel onstage eating a meatball parmigiana when the guitar solo starts and when done calling up a spandex wearing chicken shit tough guy and pound on him for a bit then turn around and finish the set enjoying an espresso and a cannoli then a concert with a skinny assed feminine guy dancing around maybe with some ability but that look, who cares. The individuals that truly appreciate the art of music, the ones that wait to hear that certain guitar part, the ones that can truly feel the emotion of the lyrics as the singer is pouring his heart out, the way the drums thunder out a heavy percussive pattern that touches your inner emotions so intense it is sometimes like an experience that cannot be described, that is me as crazy as it sound to some. I am not alone in these feelings as many in my close circle of friends as well as people I have met while working in the industry and especially folks I have met while attending countless concerts and local shows have often spoke of this emotion when certain songs are played especially live. I used to think it was a musician thing but I was proven wrong many times and to us that share the same feeling of enjoyment and passion for the music don't care what the musicians look like we care about the energy, feeling and emotion that the song projects or makes us feel when it is so amazingly executed. many thanks for reading, stay true to the amazing art of true music.
