I love the way Latry's face shows pure pleasure and ease and confidence and never has that grumpy "Im such a serious organist" look about him. Pure musical genius!

C'est tout de même marrant de lire les réactions ici. Tout le monde semble s'auto-proclamer membre d'un jury. Pour rappel, un office n'est pas un concours d'improvisation. Cette improvisation n'a jamais été destinée à être enregistrée, ni commentée. Un prélude à l'office a pour fonction d'accompagner les fidèles dans le passage de la vie quotidienne à la vie moins quotidienne qu'est celle de la liturgie. Ces improvisations doivent être considérées dans ce contexte particulier; il ne faut vraiment rien y voir de plus... Et je ne crois pas que M. Latry l'envisage autrement.

It's great having all of the camera angles to see what he's doing. Nice touch on leaving the start of the Introit at the end of the video, it really took the video to another next level.

Cet enregistrement de cette improvisation est également "collector" . Quand pourrons-nous ré-entendre M. Latry sur ces grandes orgues . Il reste à reconstruire la cathédrale dévastée par l'incendie du 15 Avril 2019.
