Assurément, il a beaucoup écouté notre Maitre à tous, l'immense Pierre Cochereau, et s'en est dignement inspiré !!! pourquoi est il en bas, c'est à la tribune qu'il devrait être, bon sang !!

Non non, Johann est titulaire du grand orgue de la cathédrale de Nancy, et titulaire avec Yves Castagnet de l’orgue de chœur de Notre-Dame de Paris. Mais j’avoue que avec un talent pareil, on regrette qu’il ne soit pas titulaire du G.O de ND de Paris...

Hi, the great organ is being restored again indeed. It comprises: replacement of the machinery of tones by direct draw, pneumatic drawing mechanism of stops, mounting of the 6th plan (resonance), restoration of the facade and general tuning (Source: www.atelier-quoirin.com/ParisND.php). We will have to wait till after the summer to hear it again :(

It's a superb console, but at first it seemed very out of place at Notre Dame. But then I noticed the outer shell in dark wood and more traditional moldings, which can be clearly seen from the nave. It actually looks to two separate consoles (modern and traditional) sandwiched together. Odd.

Who told you that? It is not correct: Johann Vexo played on the choir organ and Jean Pierre Leguay played on the grand orgue !
Sorry Jean-Pierre wasn't in ND ! Philippe was playing the great organ and Yves Castagnet in the choir

Succession d'accords mais sans mélodie. Du début a la fin on cherche l'histoire, celle qui fait vibrer
Heu... Il faut aussi écouter le détail et toutes les parties augmentées. Le thème y est développé sous bien des formes et maintes fois. Maintenant, à chacun son style et personne n'est la réincarnation de P. Cochereau. Si on écoute J. Vexo, même s'il est assez imprégné du passé de cette tribune, il ne faut pas y chercher autre chose que du J. Vexo ! ☝
Cochereau disait "mettez un singe a la tribune de ND et le public applaudira"
Trop d'improvisations sans thème mélodique, on ne comprend pas l'inspiration ce n'est qu'une succession d'accords, bref si on sort de l'édifice sans être capable de siffloter le thème, c'est qu'il était incompréhensible. Je parirais même que l'organiste lui-même serait incapable de rejouer a l'identique ce qu'il vient d'improviser.
