Gorgeous Emily!!! Love the blue in the painting!!
Such sassy sweet horse. Such a lovely painting.
Beautiful work, nice horse rendering in watercolor!!!
very nice colors and love your style and horses. You did this one Justice. Thank you for the demo.
Your animals are perfection.
Love your nails🤩
From your selection of colors, to the execution of the painting, everything was congruent and flawless, hence the result was marvelous
What a kind comment! Thank you!
I really enjoyed this tutorial, I’ve been wanting to do horses! Thnx! Following!
This is absolutely the best thing I've seen! My first attempt didn't go so well, but I'll keep trying. Love your work!
You made that look ridiculously easy!
Horses are just so fun!
These horse tutorials are super helpful! Thanks so much
Wow , so beautiful 😍
I can't believe I found this! I'm writing a children's book about a friend's white pony with a dark muzzle and I wanted to illustrate it altho I've never painted with watercolor. I actually believe now that I can do it! Thank you SO much!!
How perfect it THAT!?
That's an impressive horse painting. It looks gentle and has a feeling of affection.
Beautiful. You are blessed. I am going to give this a try.
Have fun!
just amazing , how beautiful thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it! Can't wait to get out my paints and paint with you as I rewatch it (over & over).
Yes! Let me know how it goes!
Held my breath there as you added the teal strokes in the end. Great advise on the manes and well everything really. I need some more practise in my watercolour as Im more comfortable with acrylics and pencil, but I love the light and openess of watercolour. Mixed media is the way for me. Anyway, thank you for sharing this and also your advise on overworking watercolours, yup, thats me. Please do more horses!
Always happy to paint more horses! :)
Love the painting
Wowwwwww nice painting 🎨🎨🎨
😍 wonderful Painting, thank you for the tutorial I would love to give this ago
Fantastic video Emily. Thank you for sharing your thought process and instructions. Hugs from TX.
You are so welcome!
This is absolutely stunning! I really have to practice my drawing and just figuring out how to do those colour combinations that in my head don’t make sense until I see them done… And then I’m like yeah! That makes total sense and is so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this. I have subscribed to your channel and can’t wait to see what more you do. I have to give this a try.
Thanks for stopping by and subbing! I appreciate you nice comment. :)

So lovely, Emily. Love, love, love it!
This is beautiful! I've always had trouble making my horses look realistic. Mostly the size of the horse compared to the human. Oh well, practice, practice, practice.
You are so talented!

Beautiful work 😍😍😍
Thanks a lot 😊
Love this video
It's beautiful I watched you paint the whole thing, but I still have no idea how you did it.
Woooow
Have a nice day
Absolutely beautiful! What could I use instead of the cobalt teal please?❤
Any yellow-leaning blue or a turquoise. :-)
great work. looks beautiful. stay in touch.
I love i😊😊
Wow😮😲
😯
You know, it took me forever to figure out that phthalo blue was actually cyan. Well duh, it's in the name of the color: PthaloCYANine blue. Cobalt teal is always the color that I imagined when I thought of "cyan". Well, cobalt teal may not be cyan, but it sure adds a simply gorgeous touch to your beautiful horse! Thank you for being such a skilled and practiced teacher :)
Thank you so much for your comment!
Hi Emily, I’m new to your channel, and I love your tutorials, and the work that you do. You bring watercolor to life. It’s truly gorgeous work. I’m super curious though, when you did the nostrils and the mouth, you started with the darkest value and then began adding more watered down pigments. Why is it that you didn’t get any blooms into the nostril and mouth areas when you did that? I ALWAYS get blooms where I didn’t really want them, but maybe you have a trick? Thanks for the tips and tricks in this video, I love it.
You can prevent blooms by making sure you do not have any excess water in your brush. This is the biggest culprit with blooms.
Wonderful video dear. I enjoyed watching.😁 New friend here. See you
Emily. You are painting a white horse (aka a grey), so why are you using a indigo mix for the chest shadow. It seems too dark for the horse colour?
Great tip about printing the same size. I try to paint from a photo on my iPad. It gets confusing.
Nyc 🥰
What can I use to replace or create indigo? I’ve ordered it but it’s not going to come in before my project is due. Also, is there a replacement for buff titanium? I have a lot of acrylic paints that I can use as substitute. Most of my pants are acrylic as I add to my water colour collection.
Payne's Grey is a great substitute for Indigo, and you can use watered down Yellow ochre instead of buff titanium.
So mesmerizing to study the unfolding of this and other paintings.
As a horse person over years, this is especially meaningful.
Thank you.

How did you decide where to put the blue on the pony?
My horse doesn’t look like yours... I guess I will have to practice more....
Have you done mixed media and use pan pastels with watercolors before?
I haven't tried that combo but I bet it would be lovely! I enjoy soft pastels when I have time, and I use black pan pastel when I'm doing charcoal drawings.
Can you share where you got the reference photo for this painting or include a link please?

Can you add a link to the reference photo, please?
Just added!
Very good, but this painting isn't finished yet, it needs more layers and glazing. Recommend Rebecca Rhodes to watch.
