I am so glad that I found you. I have been watching beginner artists and your videos are more more advanced than theirs and helps me more. I love the way how the painting evolved
You are so amazing...I am inspired by your work and the fact that you talk through the different layers. I hope you continue to inspire those of us who are just starting in this medium. God Bless
it took me four years to find you… worth the wait. you are talented and gracious. your voice is calming, your delivery is encouraging; my only regret is to have wasted my time with other sites. thank you, thank you, thank you.
I really enjoyed your video and learned some helpful techniques from you. Thank you I love all animals especially horses. I’m a beginner at watercolor. I will be looking for more videos by you.❤
Thank you for this video. My sister just list her horse, Rocket. He looked just like this horse and was such a sweet boy. She has asked that I paint a portrait of him. She recently lost her cat, and I did a portrait of the cat for her as well. This will really help me bring him to life on the paper.
4/5/23 your painting is so beautiful! I drew a pretty horse, now I'm so scared to paint it, so far I've done the eye using your technique.. it's looking good.
Well, I know this video is a little old but I think this is very true amazing, beautiful art. Now I usually sketch horses that look very real but you have inspired me to try this. Amazing art piece. Great job!!!
Hi Rebecca, This was absolutely amazing to watch from start to finish. The transformation to the final painting was awesome! Can you do more painting in real time rather than time lapsed and also mention the color palette you are using please? Thank you!
Thank you! You can find the colors in the comments. To see the video in real time, I invite you to visit the online school: rebeccarhodes.teachable.com
This was superb...I am heading over to sign up to your online course but wondered if you also have course for still life...or only animals...I have been onto your tutorial page but it was animals only..thank you.
Do you use the same technique for darker horses? I’d love to paint a Friesian, but I’m not sure how well the technique would hold up with such dark fur! Edit: do you also let it dry in between each layer?
Yes, the same techniques can be applied to dark brown horses. I would apply thin layers of gray over the previous browns to take them darker, and yes, dry between each layer.
:-( расскрасить - не проблема - разводи цвет, и крась. Проблема - нарисовать контуры,.нарисовать карандашом! I-m not speek English... Paint color- not problem. Problem - paint kontur grafit pencil!..

Wow, photorealistic.
Thank you, Julie!
Excelente artista, felicitaciones, me gustó mucho su estilo. EL JUSTICIERO
Thank you!
Magnifique vous avez un magnifique talent bravo😁😁😁😁
Thank you Celinette!
What colour did you apply first before the light brown?
That is a gray mix of Ultramarine Blue + Burnt Sienna.
Incredible work Rebecca! 😊👍🏻
Thank you Amy!
Great video of horses in watercolor, its hard to render soft edges in watercolor!!!
Thank you! Yes, soft edges can be tricky. I find it helpful to use a clean, barely damp brush to avoid releasing water into the color.
Is the same to paint first with darks or al the end ?
Do you mean the same colors?
@@RebeccaRhodesWatercolorArtist Yes the same colors, just dark and light
Wow!! 😍
Thanks!
Do you use a projector?
No, I create the drawing on tracing paper.
Did you stretch your paper before you did that painting?
Yes, Robin. I stretched the paper for 5 to 7 minutes and stapled it to Gatorfoam board.
