This makes me wish I never stopped judo, I got thrown on my head in my first tournament final and knocked out cold. But after that I never lost a fight, went undefeated won player of the year awards, until one day I broke my hip (none judo related) after that I just never went back to it 😞

Some people just don't want to engage in ne waza, and the Japanese are very traditionalist additionally. I would guess it was just an unspoken agreement to just stand up each time.
@@TonySoprano55 At that level out of breath is not a thing. It's just that Ne Waza at that extreme high level is so difficult to achieve and the referees so impatient that they don't waste their energy in it.
That is the best way to beat Ono, Ebinuma succesfully resisted the left hand of Ono gripping his right armpit. Without Onos armpit grip control his Osoto and modified Uchimata can not be executed.
This is judo at it's purest form . the fighting for the kata was nothing short of art . amazing speed and awareness by both .
