Most everyone going up against Ono shows some degree of caution, but not Masashi, who seems to have supreme confidence. Of course they would have met in training innumerable times. He may have good reason to believe that on any given day he can be Ono's equal.

This makes me wish I never stopped judo, I got thrown on my head in my first tournament final and knocked out cold. But after that I never lost a fight, went undefeated won player of the year awards, until one day I broke my hip (none judo related) after that I just never went back to it 😞
It's 20 years since I played Judo, but what I noticed was that they virtually never went into groundwork here. Is that the way it works at this level? Excuse my ignorance.
Max sometimes when you are really focused upstairs it feels like you’re out of breath when you get to the ground and you can’t think what to do. At least that’s what I think happened
Some people just don't want to engage in ne waza, and the Japanese are very traditionalist additionally. I would guess it was just an unspoken agreement to just stand up each time.
@@TonySoprano55 At that level out of breath is not a thing. It's just that Ne Waza at that extreme high level is so difficult to achieve and the referees so impatient that they don't waste their energy in it.
That is the best way to beat Ono, Ebinuma succesfully resisted the left hand of Ono gripping his right armpit. Without Onos armpit grip control his Osoto and modified Uchimata can not be executed.
This is judo at it's purest form . the fighting for the kata was nothing short of art . amazing speed and awareness by both .
Nah
2 titans are fighting against each other
I think the two are winners, they are the most dangerous in this division, perfect study material this combat.
Love the crowd clapping at each action ... only in japan
i love both of them but ono is king of judo congrat....
am old retired judoka now love to watch grat kids like ono
Great close match.
What a combat 👏🏽
Shohei Ono is the best!!!😍😍😍
I wonder over here, 6:03 if Ebinuma should have reversed direction and pushed Ono backwards.
5:33 what is that throw by Ono?
I think it's a Yoko guruma in a very strange form
When two knowledgeable Judokas clash, don't expect to see a clean Ippon. There is little room for mistakes.
Both are wow.
Can anyone explain why ono crawl at 3:11 ?
more than a match
Best of best! ♔

Why was the warning called at 4:31?
Ebinuma grabbed the fingers of Ono
why is it fast forward?
Ebinuma is great
Very very close fight. That wazari was too soft in my opinion. Earlier this year Ono lost to Ebinuma by ippon too haha
Really in which grand prix did it happen ?
@@rickgrimes800 all Japan 2018 it went to golden score and ebinuma threw him for ippon haha

You should man, at least as a hobby to keep your body and mind in check.
Testosterooster I wish I could, but over 10 years since my original break, I’m still having problems. My specialist advised against contact sports

Ebinuma is alefty. Ono does that only with righties
Very close match
ti otoshi is my favourite throw
Kind of unfair, Ebinuma moving up a weight class. As if fighting Ono isn't difficult enough already even were Ebinuma nearly the same size as Ono.

Removing the Newaza from the match is just sad and absurd
Ebinuma 4
Ono 2
