Excellent video - As a child I used to live in the Grey Horse from 1974 to 1980 - I played football in the car park endlessly and took my life in my hands crossing the road to go to school on a daily basis

I used to ride to Brayton from Edenthorpe several times a week on a 50cc moped to see my girlfriend in the late 70s. Great in summer but a long, cold dark ride home in winter. Your video brought back some great memories of a lovely village. Thanks Andy.

Brayton Barff great place for a walk used to be a excellent place to go sledging when it snowed heavy . Also used to be a old army camp next to it great place to explore when we were kids.

I got a job delivering evening papers around Brayton village for Mr Wintersgill (wide street shop), I was only 12 and you had to be 12 yo, ten shillings a week, which was a fortune, my dad soon had me joined up to a clothing club so it didn't get wasted, I did that until I wS 15.

The butchers is the best in the area. I used to work there in my early days before school and on a Saturday. It’s hard to cram things into your visits but the Brayton Farm shop has been closed for nearly a year now which you covered in the picture bit. My Grandparents are also buried in the cemetery so nice to see Mrs Village Idiot 😁, cover that in another video. I’ve asked a lot of ‘Selebrians’ and we have come to the conclusion that Brayton Station never existed. Keep up the good work.

In summer, the 12:40 footpath gets full of nettles, and in winter the ground is just unwalkable

Brayton Barff that’s not in Brayton!! Also 3 1/2 foot deep. It’s definitely deeper than that. We used to go swimming in there as kids. Usually down the mill lane part of the canal.

@@TheVillageIdiot didn’t hear that bit. It’s a thing I’ve always wondered as it’s in Thorpe Willoughby! Keep up the good work.
