I am a Chinese RUclipsr and I agree. Some of them lack sympathy and respect for poor people. They use their wealth to do corrupt and immoral things in China, they are not restricted by law. I have witnessed their unethical practices in society since I was in the primary school. I appreciate you guys who really understand China.
One recent video, C-Milk: Dude, you wanna race me? Winston: I didn't intend to. This video he scolds Winston for revving his bike joyfully. I know that personality trait from my school time and picked up some more clues in much older videos.
I once dated a "fu r dai" girl.. She had the guts to ask how much money my dad earns a year and what my family net worth is. Needless to say, this was my cue to ditch her. Not all Chinese who study abroad are of this type and most probably aren't but these are some of the most spoiled guys and girls I've ever seen. Usually they don't study at a good university cause their gaokao scores were crap so studying abroad is their way out. Many of them also never worked a single day in their life and once they get their degree, they simply go home to become a senior executive or some high position in their parents' company, often not having any major responsibilities and yet receiving more in their monthly paychecks than what you'll take years to earn. I never give these people any "face". They threaten me and my family, thinking I'm also from China not knowing that I'm Chinese American.

I went to school with these kids in New York and lived with one in a 5-person apartment for a year. It was maddening. The girl would get mad and pretend she didn't understand our English to try and get away with things. Thank god my friend is Taiwanese and also lived with us. Whenever the girl acted up, my friend would yell at her in Mandarin and English because she couldn't get away with pretending to not understand then. I was so happy when that year was over.
I am a young Australian at University in Sydney and find the Chinese international students so materialistic and rude thinking they are better then everyone.

They will never run out of money because their parents will teach them how to make money. That's the secret of being rich, you teach what you know to your future generation.

I had a rich Chinese kid in my high school engineering class. He was really polite. He gave me a ride in his nice car and I listened to chinese music for the first time. Good memories.
Where does the rich of these Chinese come from? That comes from the poor cheap labor market in China where a lot of majority of Chinese are working for.
A significant number of the very rich in China got their money from real estate. Consider Shenzhen, for example. In 1980 it was a tiny little town of less than 100,000 people. It primarily existed to service the border crossing into Hong Kong. Then it was declared a special economic zone. This meant that people who lived there had the chance to earn money and keep it. So the price of land began to rise astronomically. A condo that previously would have cost the equivalent of about US$50,000 suddenly became $1million. So people who happened to own some land in the area (pretty much all medium-to-high ranked CCP members) could put up a crappy apartment block and suddenly be billionaires. This process continues as Shenzhen continues to expand. Today SZ is over 12.5 million, and continuing to grow. And every one of them needs someplace to live. This has happened in a bunch of cities in China. Consider that Beijing now has 5 ring roads, and is working on more. Each new batch of apartments means a bunch new billionaires. And the people who are allowed to become rich in such deals are always connected through the party.
I lived in Berkeley for 30 years, raised my kids there. We were forced to move in most part to so many Chinese buying up rental houses and apartments then jacking up the rents astronomically. Then of course the Google employees came in paying those rents. We were forced to move 5 times in 30 years.
I can't believe I get to share this. A couple of years ago I was a senior in college back in Pennsylvania. I had just finished free English lessons for two of my Thai friends. They were so grateful for the lesson that they wanted to take me into town to buy me bubble tea and cake. So I drove us into state college because penn state attracts so much business. We went into this bubble tea shop that was plastered with fake gold and lots of decorations. I was standing in line when a Rolls Royce pulled up in the parking lot and a guy in a full Tom Ford suit got out of the car. In the back were Chinese twins they were wearing beautiful white trench coats. I couldn't tell the brand. (Sorry not into female fashion) they were in line behind me and the guy said nice jacket to me. He said my father owns stake in this company. And I was like cool, whatever. I turn around and he got angry started saying something in Chinese. My Thai Friends overheard him. They said you have no right to call him that and a lot of people in the room heard it. (Figures I'm the only non-Asian in the establishment.) I turn around and ask him what is his problem? He said you need to show more respect to me and your new future rulers. This guy has no clue what he walked into. I say, I'm sorry did I have to learn mandarin or did you learn English? He started to get embarrassed. And I said, those girls only love you for your daddys money they dont respect you in any way. That car in the parking lot is not yours. I bet your father doesn't even know you're driving a Rolls Royce. Finally I said you're paying over 50,000 dollars to go to a pathetic state school in the middle of Pennsylvania. Why didn't you get in UCLA? Your father couldn't bribe them enough? So he got so angry he asked for my license and I said are you threatening me. You know I have an LTC. He says LTC? Yeah. Something you'll never see poor people in China have. I flinch into my jacket he falls straight to the ground. The girls in trench coats start laughing at him. I reveal I have nothing. I have made him lost so much face (even though I didn't realize what that concept was yet). He ran away in embarrassment back into his Rolls Royce. (Its pouring rain by the way) the girls in the trench coats call an uber and leave. After that many of the Chinese students in the bubble tea shop thanked me for standing up to him. They said they never could have done that to him or risk serious injury. I hope you all enjoyed this story.
I am Malaysian Chinese, born and raise in Kuala Lumpur.. We have Chinese culture and good values to passed on to future generations, and that is definitely not like those 富二代 bad behaviors. The Chinese outside of China value our cultures and traditions, but some of those cultures and traditions are lost forever in China due to being banned by the communist government.
I agree with you, people with chinese ancestry that are non chinese values chinese cultures and traditions more than those brought up in mainland china.

Hmm here in Germany we have a lot of chinese students. Didn't really notice that phenomenon though. Probably because studying in Germany is quite cheap, and we attract only the normal "poor" kind of Chinese students. ;)
They almost seem to be a different species than those rich kids. Every single one i met here was very friendly and quiet. Always intend to not draw any attention. That tells you a lot about that economic caste system.
That’s true. I’m Chinese and Germany does not tend to attract “rich” Chinese students. A lot of my middle class Chinese friends go to Germany because of low tuition.
In American because it’s really expensive for them, it’s not uncommon to see them with high end luxury cars, what their parents have bought for them so they can have the greatest false image of a powerful character, their parents sometimes go broke doing this just in the slight off chance that their kids get rich one day and then they get a crap load of money back from their kids

A lot of these kids would try to insure their cars with my company. It was hilarious because they always have expensive cars but expect the insurance to be cheap.
Luxury car insurance is expensive no doubt, but worth it's weight in gold when you have to pay quite a bit just to replace, or repair a small area of the vehicle that's been damaged. It's advisable to pay for full coverage regardless of what you drive. Your paying for peace of mind and taking care of your investment. You never know what might happen like being hit by a bus at 55mph on a Pasadena freeway during gridlock on the fourth lane over. No running for it in that position. I had to stay and take the hit. Thankfully there was no one on the bus. My insurance came through and was a huge support system for me. I wish I could say the same for the lawsuit. It's been nine years and I'm still dealing with the attorneys and courts. Absolutely ridiculous. At least I, and my car were taken care of in a courteous and understanding manner. I don't wish an accident like this on my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and pay the little extra to make sure your taken care of. It's worth it in the long run.
I got an interesting story to share with you all. About a few years back, there was a rich second-generation son of a high-ranking CCP official who would drive around our block in his Nissan R35 for an entire year he lived here. He'd come home EVERY NIGHT hours past midnight from his late hangouts over at San Gabriel Valley where other Fu-Er-Dai's meet up, and terrorized the neighborhood with his immediately recognizable distinctively loud exhaust. You can hear that darn thing from miles away, I kid you not. This neighborhood I'm referring to is none other than Arcadia, CA, a suburb of L.A. The entire town is over 50% of Chines ethnicity. A good chunk of them are recent immigrants from China (Not H.K., not Taiwan), and they all came loaded with cash. Anyway, one Friday evening, while I was surfing the channel, I Came Upon an 11 o'clock News reporting of a home invasion that occurred on the same block where I live. It turns out the victim was that same kid with the Nissan (Gee I wondered why no vroom-vroom echoing down the block tonight lol). They say the perps were described as Afro-American gang-bangers, who followed him home from his favorite hangout spot, then robbed him at gunpoint as he got out of his Nissan. They then proceeded to go inside, tied up everybody who lives in there - probably other student friends of his who they all share the same house. These gangbangers pretty much cleaned them out, took everything of value, most likely all of the dirty money they had hidden away. Out of curiosity, I decided to drive by that house the next day during my lunch break. I saw that they already have a FOR SALE sign put out on the front lawn, and the house looked vacant. I don't know of anybody rich enough to just move out within a day and put the house on the market as fast as these kids (or their "High-Ranking Official" dads) did. Looks like the downside of Western democracy scared them back to China 🤷♂️😁 Boy I got tons of other stories I'd love to share, but it's late, and I got to be up in a couple of hours. :-P I'll report back with more.
If I ever get rich, I would still bring up my children as a lower middle class father. So that they would realize how harsh life could be. If I saw them making fun of others, 2 slaps right there.
Easier said than done. Realistically speaking I'll probably raise them as upper middle class, decent 2 story house, good school district, a trip a year, not worrying about food, cars at 16(Not new ones). If I had money I would try not to spoil my children, but I would want an middle/upper middle class lifestyle at least.
Yes you definitely should do it my mom decided to do this to me and my sister and I’ll say it’s a blessing from god, always teach your kids to be humble, not lower middle class though, it will make your kids become lack of confidence.

@Karl Timmerman The assignment of the label of dwarf planet according to highly debatable criteria was arbitrary and does not take into account the neighborhood Pluto is in, as if millions of other “planets” of vast size in distant suns won’t also find themselves in or captured within belts, very distant from their sun and not having yet hoovered up their future components or influenced future encountered objects. Would that make them a non-planet until they’ve cleared their orbital path, and then instantly they’re a planet when they do? I don’t think so. It is a rigid definition that does not take time into account. Consider star formation, at what point are obvious planets planets? The discoverer has the right of definition subject to scrutiny by their contemporary peers. They all agreed it was a planet and Tombaugh was lauded as a hero and his method of discovery heroic and the stuff of scientific legend. many of us grew up dreaming of it as a planet, and no meddling fools with their own political agendas, trying to put everything in this box or that has the right to change it, IMHO. In time, even Pluto will clear its path, unless the IAU decides to redefine gravity. There are more Kuiper planets out there, and downgrading then and minimizing them will discourage their exploration and dissuade young children, like I once was, from dreaming of ever seeing them. Finally, the vote to downgrade was not a democratic vote of the union. The decision was taken by an arrogant minority.
@@obriets I don't care. My comment towards science was more tongue-in-cheek, and I don't even believe in the moon landing let alone the ridiculous enterprise of modern space exploration. They dream of debt-free home ownership, medical access, affordable education, and family formation free of pandemic level STDs, poverty, and nightmarish social movements. I noticed similar trends among the huge number of Saudi Arabian students at my university in the Southwest in the U.S. The Saudi government threw so much money at the school that they even built a mosque on campus. I don’t like to dine or grocery shop in San Gabriel Valley because I would not want to witness FuErDai’s excess and arrogance. To be honest, these young adults don’t flaunt to impress a stranger like me, they mostly stay in their little circle to lord over hanger-ons or one up each other. It actually pisses them off when people are not impressed with their luxury goods, money, or connections. They don’t understand why most people don’t care or can care less about them. This is why they only surround themselves with sycophants or those with similar background and disposition.

Ughh, I have some of these "students" living in my very small town in Canada. They ofc live in a 700 000$ home. I am so sick of them coming over here and jacking up the home prices. Last year my neighbors sold a townhouse for 364 000$, this was back in August. Now, the same type of townhouse which smelled of cigarettes and cat litter and wasn't as nicely appointed as the previous one, sold for 384 000$. That's a jump of 20 000$ in just over half a year. This money flows in from the bigger cities where locals sell to the Chinese after bidding wars ensue. That person who sold for 384 000$ has to move out even further away to be able to afford another home to live in. At what point am I allowed to complain about this without sounding racist? Why do I have to compete with rich foreigners to buy a home in a country I pay taxes in? There have been reports of them living in million dollar homes while collecting welfare, because the dad lives and works in China, pays whatever taxes there, and so technically speaking his family doesn't earn any income.

@Truth Speaks The West Coast is like any other place in the US. I live in a somewhat small conservative city in California and it would probably remind you of some Midwest cities. If you go to the larger cities in California, then you will have a very different experience. The larger and wealthier cities can have amazing job opportunities. The smaller and wealthier beach communities are great places to live if you can afford to live there. I really think Northern California is cool, but cost of living is absolutely out of reach for the vast majority of people. I know people in Vegas from California find it way more affordable, than California. I haven't been to Oregon, Utah, or Washington.

It's horrendous and I'm only 4 hours away. My friends and I used to go monthly for concerts and shopping. We didn't gamble, but we got comps for frequenting the the resort so much. It was always a great experience and the employees knew us by name. We made sure we went out if our way to tip and treat everyone with kindness and respect. From valet to housekeeping the staff work their asses off to make sure everyone is treated well and comfortable. I appreciate and am grateful for their work ethic. Last May was our final visit. Never again. Ever! It had been awhile since we visited. Things had changed a great deal and not for the better. It was my 16th wedding anniversary and I bought concert tickets to see HellYeah for my husband. We're metalheads. Lol. It was the first time HellYeah was playing since Vinne Paul passed away a year earlier and a tribute to Vinnie. It was a one time deal and I knew my husband would really enjoy it. I booked with MGM Park on the strip. We had stayed with them before and had a pleasant experience. Not this time. The set price was $385 for Friday and Saturday night. Not bad for a weekend on the strip. We wanted to be close to the venue and planned on drinking so taking a taxi wouldn't be to expensive. When we arrived our room wasn't ready, mind you it was 7pm when we got there. They added the hidden fee of $300 for incidentals. $45 resort fee for a the gym and pool we wouldn't be using. $25 a day for valet even though we were guest's at the hotel and tipped every time we used our vehicle. The air conditioning didn't work in the room. If you wanted to purchase a cocktail you had to pay a $5 venue fee per person just to order a drink at the casino bar not a themed bar or anything of the sort. It was where everyone was gambling. A bottle of water was $9. I would like to thank the staff at Starbucks across the street located in the New York, New York for taking care of us and only paying a $1 for a Venti iced water plus the food we lived off of because our hotel coffee shop wanted $70 for two basic breakfasts of two eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee. Your kidding right? Vegas used to be a fun place where you could have an awesome time. It's now all corporate. Your a number not a guest. You used to be able to slip a $50 or $100 spot to the individual checking you in and get a great room upgrade, not that we ever did this, but had friend's that did. We always paid for a suite and it was worth it. They really weren't to much more and we were grateful. Vegas no longer comps anyone unless your a high roller. We are not. We work hard for what we have and when we want to play hard we do. I had a conversation with a pit boss in the almost empty casino late one night during our stay. He said he hadn't given a comp in almost eight year's because the MGM's owners frowned on it and it was advisable not to do so at all if he valued his job. He said many casinos have unfortunately adopted this model of business and it's really hurting business. He was a really nice guy and I felt his frustration. Part of going to Vegas was the comps. Even if you got a coupon for the buffet you were happy. Buffets hardly exist where we were. We didn't see one. It felt like we were paying extortion fees just to enjoy one part of the casino at a time. It wasn't the employees fault and they were wonderful as always. We made sure they were tipped for their service's. The concert was a once in a lifetime experience at the House Of Blue's that we'll never forget and VIP was amazing! I only paid $70 a ticket because I got them early. We met some amazing people and characters for that matter before, during, and after the show. It was a blast! As for the rest, no thanks. We're done. Vegas is a destination that will no longer be part of our lifetime experiences. If you like to be nickeled and dimed to death, or charged hidden fees by all means go for It! There are time's I wish the mob was still running the show, but they aren't. Good luck to anyone planning to visit. Interesting content, I live in New Zealand going to a school filled with an extremely high number of rich international chinese students (maybe 25% of the highschool cohort) and most of them are really nice.
My cousin lives there, calls it "Tackytown." He's a partner in a company that provides lighting, sound, stage effects for venues, for concerts, etc. I've never been there, because "everyone" goes there, like they're "cool" or whatever. I consider LV to be a place for foolish gamblers and celebrity worshippers. I know, I'm not cool, don't care.
As a “dude sat in England”, I fondly recall staying at Paris Las Vegas last year. I have flights booked for five weeks from now to return to Las Vegas. Given the current threats of quarantines and such like, I'm thinking I might defer for a few months though. And no, I don't have any love for gambling!
The first four times I went to Las Vegas, beginning in 2007, were for Sony Online Entertainment's fan event, being an EverQuest 2 player at the time. But I loved the place for all the shows and the eating. The seventh time I went to Las Vegas, in 2017, was to get married to someone I originally met in game. This year was to be my ninth trip to Las Vegas. Of course, my wife and I play video poker while sat at the bar, to enjoy the free-flowing beverages that come with that, so I do ‘gamble’ to some degree. I was very much looking forward to my trip this year, but even with no lockdown and no quarantine, that doesn't mean it's safe; especially with all the ‘second wave’ theories going around. Being diabetic, and therefore having a somewhat weakened immune system, I prefer not to take the risk. Still, I'm hopeful to re-book for September. And if not, then hopefully Caesars will decide to extend my Diamond status from this year into next, due to the time everything has been closed. Thank you for the validatory upvote, @Mr. Miyagi
Aah, shooting guns and renting big cars. Well, despite now being in my 40s, I never did pass a driving test and get a license, so the car thing not so much an option. Though one time I visited, the group I was with did rent something pretty big to drive out to the canyon Skywalk. The guns thing I did on my first few visits. Entirely a novelty experience, and definitely not something I've felt the need to do again in recent years at all.

I used to have a friend in high school that was Chinese one time he asked us to help him build his computer and we went to micro Center and he spent $5,000 on the best hardware you could get but he realized he got the wrong radiator and was about to throw it and the case away but I was there and I convinced him to give it to me. He had his own apartment, a brand new Lexus and sometimes would buy us sneakers or random shit. For those of you about to blast us, he was a fucking hilarious guy, the random spending was the cherry on top
Totally agree! I am amused to see foreign students who grew up with servant, maids & cooks at home but had to start learning basic life skills but failing miserably. Its a sin gambling. But damn, idk why its so liberating sometimes. Something unexplainable about winning during gambling vs loosing that is so hard to describe or put into any language really.. Rule #1 Vegas gambling you go extremely light on, never full force or large bets will screw your weekend quickly. Rule #2 if doing well in gambling, don't let it get to your head. Be humble and accept a short victory, should you loose it all along with your pride. Haha!
Tess W, the lockdown is being enforced, there’s no way around it. Gaming Control Board has made it illegal to gamble so all the casinos are closed. If you look at the Mandalay Bay’s digital marquee it has the date March 11th through the 13th. So this was before the lockdowns took affect.

Where does the rich of these Chinese come from?
That comes from the poor cheap labor market in China where a lot of majority of Chinese are working for.
Exactly
The money comes from the rest of the world, we all buy their stuff, but ya, because cheap labour...ur right
A significant number of the very rich in China got their money from real estate.
@@puppetsock nailed it

@@obriets Your inflexibility and rigid adherence to what you were taught is dogmatic. It undermines science as an institution capable of self-correction.

The fact that you care about a ball of ice and rock, an insurmountable distance away from you (and it has taken on a mythic quality) is a symptom of our degeneration as a culture. In some strange way, your fascination with an object named for a chthonic god is deeply allegorical. It is why I made that observation in my first comment.
I noticed similar trends among the huge number of Saudi Arabian students at my university in the Southwest in the U.S. The Saudi government threw so much money at the school that they even built a mosque on campus. Always with BMW's, Mercedes, Jaguars, you name it parked outside. One thing I remember is the $900 cologne cloud that followed the guys everywhere they went. They always seemed to get along great with the Chinese students.

Growing up in Sydney I’ve seen them overtake this city. Good thing with this virus is we’ve blocked them. I bet most Australians said "good riddance".
Then the virus was a good thing perhaps. That turned the world against china. Good.
I doubt that very much most western country have no morals when it comes to money and will bend over backwards for it ... My country pulled their pants down for 60 billion of investment .... gave land away ... I expect it will be business as usual ... Australia is an ideal country close proximity and western standard and best of all it's not America, long before this it's been ripe for domination. "A Serious Man" has a scene that shows exactly what you describe when talking about China's privileged wealthy students
Epic epic film
They shouldn't be allowed to buy property in a foreign country. They should just stay there like the little spoiled twat turds that they are.

@@Truth Speaks ... it all depends if you are the kind that likes CA or hated CA. Oregon is actually a safe bet... low key and still lots of wildness. Washington is a snowflake state, though not as bad as CA.

Make sure you call the hotel your staying at and inquire about valet, parking, incidentals, venue, resort, and extortion fees. They're not listed on the online contract, or fine print. You get that surprise when you check in.
Have to deal with these people all the time in CA.

@Mr. Miyagi Looks like somebody needs a time out.
Miyagi
