    They are talking alot but not really giving much info. What is the Watts on this? Also, if there are no blades, then there is no load and no resistance. So, your calculations are not as accurate as if it were really doing work. Power = Work per hour. Right? But, enjoyable to watch this, but I hope future videos improve on this. Thanks.

      Bro he means resistance inside the regulator, knob is at 1 the resistance is highest and when knob is at 5 resistance is least this is the how fan is controlled

    There is difference between the no load and no resistance(blades aren't connected). However if wings are connected or not, there will be no effect on the power consumption. You should have to tell that what's the power reading in watts at different speed.

    try with new speed controllers. these bulky controllers are known to waste energy by heat while in lower speeds.

      Yep, it's 2015 and they're(were) stuck with Electric regulator instead of moving to Electronic(TRIAC) ;-)

    You have connected fan motor without blades I. E without load induction motor will draw less current and power drop across regulator will be less... This experiment is not usefull unless it is done with blades on fan..

    I was searching for If Is there any different in power consumption If we change fan speed? I heard like there is no difference in electricity bill even If your fan is running on 1 or 5. Is that true?

      Power consumption will decrease as you decrease the speed in this case. But it is not energy efficient as in the case of capacitor type or triac type regulators. Because in resistor controlled regulators power will be dissipated in the form of heat. So the conclusion is power consumption will decrease if you use any type of regulator (resistive * a bulky one as used in this video*, capacitive or thyristor type * will produce humming sound at lower speeds hence not used now a days*. But heat loss is significant in resistive type regulators and hence not energy efficient as it's opponents. Hope this helps you.

    Sorry guys but im having a hard time understanding your accent. Could you please write what you're saying in the comments for subtitles?
    Also to all the people who are saying the test is useless without blades. It's not. I did this same test with a box fan with blades on and blades off. With the blades on it only used 4 more watts on low and 8 more on high. Or roughly 10-15% more power.

    Duffers you are talking about old large regulators which are out dated & nowadays of no use. 🤧
