- (10-20-2017) We were driving around and Aaron noticed this random elevator on the top of the parking deck at the Regency Square Mall. I don't know what the purpose of the elevator is. CONNECT WITH ME!

The phrase "Space Elevator" lost its meaning being thrown about on anything outside. That one was simply sarcasm about the 4-foot travel it only had.
PURPOSE OF THIS ELEVATOR: Shopping carts. PLM has one, but it's more passenger-friendly.

But hey I still use MPE for stairs.
This mall has no shopping carts nor is it near any department store that would have shopping carts (the neighboring department stores when they were open would not let you leave the store with their carts)

I love those vintage Dover buttons! This elevator might be from c. 1975 when the mall opened, though I am not an expert on these older Dovers. I haven't filmed it yet but I know of an outdoor freestanding elevator that opens into thin air on the 2nd floor! I think it has been decommissioned for about 15 years or so, I am surprised it hasn't been torn down. I think there was a bridge connecting it to the nearby parking garage that was torn down when they decommissioned the elevator.
That is an parking structure elevator they are common in nearly all multi level parking structures . That is a small freight for those with something to move in or out there. If it is a Dover it may have another use too BenDover Diesel Ducy Big Ricky is home.

The elevator is used for transporting a person verticaly from place A to Place B.
Um.... thats obviously an elevator for transporting stuff from floor to floor.

Oh, the comment below me told that this elevator is for shopping carts.. That makes sense. You go out of the store after checking out with your groceries and then you go to the parking garage with the shopping cart because it would look strange to be "driving" down the parking garage staircase with a shopping cart. And then you pack your groceries in your car and return the cart to the nearest cart parking area.
Another thing that’s unusual is doorstop works for doors that are now PEELLE
