- (8-28-19) WOW! These are some MASSIVE elevators! These beefy 90,000lb freight elevators can lift a TRUCK! Originally installed by Montgomery and modernized by Otis. A HUGE thanks to Peelle for taking me to these and the staff for letting me play elevator operator!!!

I remember having this strange dream a few years back I found an elevator that looked small on the outside but past the control panal it was so big that they put a whole model forest inside for scale
And also a similar dream I had was when I was in a big shopping center and found a big odd shaped glass elevator with a tiny normal singular glass sliding door in the front but the whole side was open for loading freight from the street or something and it was kind of goofy because it only served 2 floors and one floor was the open section and one opened the small glass door in the front
I started in the trade with Montgomery in 78 and installed a few big ones but that one is BIG!

Pretty much on Northern elevators
There is ADAPTAHORNs in the elevator.
The huge scale of the length these things makes it easy to miss out on the fact that those cabs are 15 feet tall!
Absolutely amazing how massive of the space in the elevator to be able to hold two vehicles the same time.

If it’s Dewhurst i’m guessing this is in Toronto.
That’s what I think of the location of this elevator, because I saw Ontario license plates on the trucks and the mini van.

That looks like a V8 Engine due to 4 Pistons on each side & Elevator!!
Truth be told... the ones at Scotia Plaza actually have a greater capacity than these.
The two at Scotia Plaza can hold 100,000 lb as opposed to 90,000 for these.
Those two appear to be Schindler from the mid 80s.
Best machine man ever invented. In the UK the elevator/lift supply is 415 volts ac 3phase and 50hz

I saw some other truck elevators, the one in Wichita you filmed was I think 27K pounds and the one at Barclays center was 80K.

There are two Schindlers down the street from these at Scotia Plaza that have a 100k capacity.

I would had changed the door alarms as part of the modernisation.
If this were a traction elevator it would probably have two synchronised hoist machines of 100hp each.

The first sound is typical of most Yodalarm setups. These things have 32 selectable tones.

What would concern me is the removal of any residual carbon monoxide exhaust from the trucks while inside the elevator. Even when the trucks are turned off.

Think of you having the engine running in the garage at home with the door down. Cardon monoxide poisoning.

@@MrEngineer20051 that's possible too but you don't want diesel fumes to be closed in the elevator without some ventilation leaving the elevator.

The First Canadian Place in Toronto 72 floors, Top floor 289.9 m (951 ft) excluding the antenna . Floor area 250,849 m2 (2,700,120 sq ft). It is just a regular office building, but the offices for Bank of Montreal are in there.
This was deffinatelly modernized, The inside buttons look like thyssenkrupp and the call panel buttons are dewhurst
I also find it nuts how those buttons are only an inch in diameter and they control this beast of an elevator
