I was fortunate enough to visit one of the sites in Mexico where Monarchs overwinter back when I was in college (many years ago). It was amazing! We just ordered milkweed seeds and will be planting as much as we can this spring to do our part to save these beautiful creatures. Well done video, thank you!!
Thanks for the kind response! That’s great that you will be planting milkweed, and amazing you were able to see the Monarchs overwintering in Mexico; I’ve only seen them at the California coast. Have a great weekend!
Connecticut is planting conservation seeding along its roadways in hopes to restore critical habitat. The seed mixture contains milkweed black eyed Susan’s and many other native flowers and grasses, but this is still not enough. Continue to plant milkweed everywhere and minimize the spread of invasives
@@ryanbarretta3010 that’s awesome to hear, thanks for the update and positive call to action. Here is a resource that might be helpful for some restoration efforts, non-profits, and educational programs: monarchwatch.org/bring-back-the-monarchs/milkweed/free-milkweeds/
