It's not a question of worrying about another man's pockets, it's just that you had Currency, Beans, ODB, Pro Keds an was at one time worth $50 mil. Mike Tyson was worth $440 mil an people question his pockets too. It's a little fall from grace an people will question it. Dame always makes good points that we can all learn from, but he's also full of shit. Business is negotiating where one party always comes out on top. Always; and that's business. He can stop speaking on videos like he's fair and tries to make sure the next man in a deal with him eats just as good as him. He doesn't; no one does. The same way he harps about Lyor and culture vultures profiting off our community, so is Dame. The bulk of projects I've seen him put out have been hood stuff. Yeah, he hustled in his past and it's his story to tell, but he don't live that life anymore.
Like sm1 else posted, why not produce films on a more positive note? He himself is still pimping the hood. I've listened to so many of these interviews and again, I pick up on good and bad things. Dame's an asshole. I think he got gut punched by Jay and didn't see it coming at all. He talks big, but Dame's hurt. I cant help but respect any man's hustle to build a fortune out of nothing but drive and vision. But yeah, he's an AH and FOS. He's a businessman who will screw the next man based on agreed terms then tell you 'well, that was the agreement.'
He talks like he does deals on the up and up. In business, the best negotiator wins, so if you some hood kid who knows nothing about business, you get ganked out your rights, your publishing, or sign some silly deal that pays for Dame's kids to go the best schools while your kids catching the yellow school bus in the rain to public school.
+Seoul Goode I agree with most of what you just said Dame will always look out for number one an that is him. Dame will say he is on the up an up yet if that was so then everyone who ever did any kind of deal with him would not distance themselves far from him like they did. I have said this many times yet Dame had the world at his fingertips an lived beyond his means an could not work well with others an pushed everyone away an in the end they all left.
"In this world, there are people that trick everybody into believing the American Dream is something different." - That's why Damon Dash isn't backed by someone that is considered prominent because he exposes the truth while others who have his platform and resources advocate the lies of the powers that be for monetary gain to keep the working class and the middle class where they are and producing more like them. The People need to break the cycle, dig deep, do away with character flaws and insecurities and build. It may not be simple but nothing that's worth that value of independence really is.
i'd love to hear this show every week. you get to hear Dame spit that real shit every week and snap on some callers when they get reckless. you cant go wrong

"To begin with," Damon Dash always has a fresh perspective on the Hip Hop universe.
However the radio version of "Ask Dame" lacks the refinement that I come to expect from the Candid Mr. Dash visually. Moreover it is definitely obvious the radio version seemed self-trained and non-commercial.
Personally I wouldn't use the name of American broadcast journalist Barbara Walters unless I was a white female, and or I had the tenure, and above it lacks uniqueness and it is wacky.

I like what you guys are doing, I just wish to God that you would invest in better sound quality. For a mere $500 you could knock out all of the squeaking and background noise. Even the lowest quality pre amp and a audio compressor will give you a better sound. But, continue on, brother. You guys are doing good work.
