I have found that these bikes are kinda hard to work on. My damn fuel gauge isn’t working. Any ideas on that. It’s got 4K miles and has been setting for 14 years?
Hi Brandon. I'd say they are hard to work on only in the sense that there's a lot of stuff squished in a small space like most bikes. Getting the fairings off makes everything better of course. For the fuel level issue, it's likely the fuel sensor sending unit which is inside the tank. If your display is totally out, then it's the LCD part. If it's inaccurate, then it's the sending unit. Could be as simple as a loose/corroded connection, otherwise just replace the sending unit. MAKE SURE you document where every gas and vacuum line goes to the tank before taking it off!
Thank you
