PCBWay, one of the few youtube sponsors that is actually quality. I've used them on a couple of prototypes.
It’s refreshing seeing a sponsor that supports open source and applies to the video subject. Thanks for not doing an opera or war thunder sponsor 😂
I hate all the ads on RUclips these days.
I'll never use batteries like this but the way you've created the red board layout is cool.
❤Thanks I was just looking for a simple solution like this one for 48V mb-30 314-AH cells battery pack.
Hi @jehugarcia, have you got any insights on how to use your stuff in Europe? I guess I could order the compression plate and the bussbar PCB from you, but ordering your batteries and shipping them is probably a bit too budget-unfriendly.
I can ship batteries to you directly from factory free shipping jag35.com/products/eve-lf280k-lifepo4-cells-3-2v-280ah-grade-a-6000-cycles-free-shipping?_pos=4&_psq=lifepo4&_ss=e&_v=1.0
$600-700 for a battery box? That’s insane. Server rack pc cases cost less and they are more complex.
It is a custom box that is nice. Server rack batteries are definitely a good pick if the price is the priority.
Prices are at a point now, just buy a battery ready to go. It really doesn't make any sense to DIY it now. Unless it's 50% less
@kevinroberts781 diy is very good for a permanent large setup above 4 kwh for solar. If you know what you are doing. EG4 sales 5.4 kwh rack battery for about $1200, which is basically 4wh per dollar. Just need to include the inverter and charger or an all in one. The whole setup will probably be at 3wh per dollar. The built power stations are rarely at 2wh per dollar and better. So yes, about a 50% saving is what you can expect from a smaller system. The larger you go in kwh, the more you will save by diy.
Im assuming that includes the BMS which should be $100-200 of value. Still overpriced though
I was thinking the same thing in regards to the cost...if people are paying 6 to 700 for a box like that than I'm switching businesses
The safe risk from having a battery with this much energy with exposed posts is absolutely insane. I hope the folks buying these kits plan on enclosing these, or have a clear understanding of what this much energy can do if you accidentally short circuit these batteries…
Don't you need 3/8 inch aluminum plates between and protruding from the sides 4 inches each for cooling?
The jag site is a little difficult to figure things out on. Be nice just to have a quick link with the cells, pcb, and balancer together. Im interested in the 12 or 24v units as a home backup.ill make my own enclosure .
here you go everything put together for you jag35.com/products/diy-12v-lifepo4-battery-pack-using-premium-a-grade-eve-cells
There is a quick link to cells at the bottom of every page it says cells
I would love to hear if people are looking into possible home insurance issues with having something that is DIY like this...
I have the exact same question. I’m guessing you’d have to get a custom policy quote and see if the underwriters would consider it valid if evaluated by an electrician or something. You might get lucky by just saying you got a XX KW power wall and need it added to the policy and they don’t ask any questions on how you got it.
Great video! Can you send me a link for the whole kit? With everything you show on the video in one complete package. Batteries, compression plates, rods, bms, breaker, display board, etc.
it's in the description or is it too hard to figure out on the website huh! see!
I agree with you. This will be my first build, but I don't know what I need 100%, so a list would be great!
Is the entire BMS made by PCBway?
I have a project for you
Please take the 2024 cat cube four and one charger from Cosco and put as many 18 650s that you can get into it. The cube is a good set up
I just wanted to add thank you so much for all of the time and adventures that you’ve taken us on that includes the bench. Irwin
Do you have any pcb boards for a 12v 32ah but long/slim configuration, not the traditional 4x4 square. Please let me know and a link. Thanks
I don't see this for sale on your website. Where is the link?
Very interested but cant find dimensions anywhere. I am building for an RV retrofit and have very specific space requirements. was going to go custom but if the specs fit this would be much cleaner.
did the math based off 16 eve lipo4 cells (same space your looking for) 293.6mm Long 260.6mm wide 200.5mm height since the busbar pcb shown in the video is for 16S lipo4 cells.
@@evilmario5649 Thats so much smaller than I thought. 11.56x10.3x7.9.
This is crazy good news for me. I was worried about getting one of these in place of my indutrial AGM batteries. looks like I can fit 2. My RV will go from 9.6kwh to almost 27kwh....thats 12 hurs of AC in my rig. with the 5.6KW of solar I will never need shore power again.
Nice overview, God bless.
I bought some bust bar from you a while back but never got the batteries I need to know what the price for 300ah
Ok I see the 280 will those bust bar with those batteries
yes 280ah and 300ah are the same size jag35.com/products/eve-lf280k-lifepo4-battery-cells-3-2v-280ah-grade-a-6000-cycles?_pos=4&_sid=c969f64ba&_ss=r
I want one for a power wall. I need a step by step though
I want to pull the plug on this, but I am still lost on what you genuinely need to purchase to make this a complete setup as you show. PCB has a list of one thing, this video has another :-( do you have a video you can point me that is step by step? Sorry I'm a noob at this, but I truly want to learn
Question: you stated that it was 11Kh. I am a noob, but if these are 313ah and there are 16 batteries. 16x314 = 5,024. Am I wrong? Still the kit is still low cost
Kwhs isn't amp hours. Your equation would be if you put one 16 cells in parallel it would be 3.6 v at 500ah
5000ah
16s I'd 48v at 314 ah . Series it's voktage paral ads capacity.
Thank you so much. So if I saw on my bill I was using 30kwh a mouth, I would need 6 of these not counting extra so I would not drain my batteries 100%. Is that correct?
This math is off, I have a 48v 100aH battery that is about 5.13Kw…these are three times the capacity which would put them in the 15kW range…an avg size house uses 30kw (depending on location and how many electric vs gas appliances) but you should
Prob be looking at 2-3. I’m still trying to figure out how to get around an $800 box.
Are these cells being maid in Michigan at their new battery plant in Big Rappids
Chinese made....
Yes, the Chinese have a new battery plant in Big Rappids, Michigan, and are owned and operated by Chinese
@@randylenart9674 it's not even completed, these cells are imported from China, US made are still a year away at the least...
Nice video and product
How about 36v?
Yes we can make a 36v version and everything else works same way as this versions. That’s coming up next
I've been looking forward to this.... but I don't think people are building batteries and then not knowing how to arrange the cells.....
I would not be in business if people knew what they were doing.
@@jehugarcia I believe it..... kinda sad. but good for you man!
So yall show how to build them and also sell all the parts ??
how many kwh in this battery
About 15kwh
I am using 16 cells of Eve 304 cells to make 48v system to run my entire house. Wish I had same red board, now I had to run lot of wires to the cells and also think which wire will go where. The empty box is still very expensive and hurt a lot, therefore, I made my own wooden box and stored everything on a three tire tool trolley.
Great video
Better to buy the broads Thur you because you need only one . Because if you go the other way you have to buy 6 on more to get them cheaper
Or don't use the boards at all and save money

1. What makes this better than, say, a 48v lifepo you can buy on Amazon for ~$1200?
2. How would someone who just needs a battery for their golf cart actually build one of those monsters?
3. How would a person who manages to build one of those for their golf cart charge it?
Thanks!
$1200 won't get you a 15kwh 48v battery from Amazon.
To charge it you just buy a 48v charger . Building it you just do the research aquire part and put it together . The pcb is prob the easiest way to build .
@@SacredHeart0520 ah sorry, still learning. Now I see, the ones I looked at on Amazon are like 2.5kwh.
@@SacredHeart0520 thanks. Yeah, the researching and knowledge gathering is what I’m doing now.
You never put anything between the cell terminal and the buss or main cables. That includes lock washers, flat washers, spacers, balance lead eyelets or in this case a pc board. Any balance connections to the cells must be placed on top of the busses/cable lugs. It has been shown that even pure copper or aluminum washers between the cell terminals and current carrying conductors is detrimental. Also, an all red cable on the negative to the bms is sure to rub the OCD guys wrong.
When the DIY version ends up costing more then a good budget battery it doesnt make sense. With the price of batteries going down there is decent budget batteries including a new budget $1200 48v server rack battery from signature solar.
This is more akin to the $3300 14.3kWH battery though.
🥰
I just bought the delta 2 from Echo flow😂 now I see this
It cost more to make a battery using your DIY then it is to just buy one off the shelf
Befor ya know it your boards will be used in Chinese made batteries
Your prices are too high. EG4 280ah prebuilts are 5k canadian with cables. Much nicer
What's up bro
let's see ,..im thinking that i need about 150 - 200 kwh/Day to rate shave and rate shave my way into 200 - 300 dollars a month.
Buy LOW, Sell HIGH,...
good luck everyone
You have made your website so hard to navigate it is horrible, please just make an all-items page of things that are in stock. used to browse daily now I can't even figure out what you have in stock. I don't want to search or have some stupid ai quiz help me I want to see what I can buy on one page that scrolls. simple.
What are you talking about ?? Go to New arrivals - VIEW ALL - and you see all available products . You want to Narrow it down? Go to collections - need ev batteries? click on ev batteries - need lifepo4 ? Click on LoFePO4. How much easier do you want it?
It's really not that hard you can also just search what you want and if you scroll down to bottom it will have related items . If it's not in stock it says it right by price
Or, if I buy the same batteries elsewhere and save a few hundred bucks...bam , 48v block for 1200 - running strong, no complicated , hyped, pretty, overpriced, or "ocd" setup- not trying to knock your stuff, but not everyone lives in the city and is soft- most ppl , real men, are running crude, rugged setups in remote, and hostile environments for real needs, not ev's - you never touch base with this crowd...we have deep pockets but don't need the fluff
Grifter😂
He just like the Orange man…😂😂😂
what the cest source for these batterys
