I personally like to go to the top, I had 54 inch laces, after going to the top, I loop the lace through the top hole a second time making it so the laces don’t get undone at all, but still keeping the loose look

I love line geometry and use it in my art and upcycle'n projects; especially line art of Persian calligraphy, with Persian motifs and colours combined w punk aesthetics. my obsession is the look of unfinished, messy execution, almost as if someone took a real life eraser and erased part(s) of the final piece.
I laced my Vans SK8-Hi w this in mind and I didn't flatten the laces. the line pattern it created looks like someone tried to cross something out. it looks awesome. your tutorial was the best one I could find cz you tilted the camera on your shoes and gave a better visual, while everyone else did it on a desk. this simple detail gave me the idea to do my laces chaotically cz I saw it in my mind's eye when I looked at your camera's perspective. it saddens me ppl don't pay attention to the v factor that affects their work. lacing is a visual puzzle. the orientation of the puzzle affects its difficulty. teaching lacing via mirror images, ie holding the shoe in front of the camera, is almost counterintuitive.

I followed step by step but I ended up having a lot more extra lace on the end than you did, im using the laces that came with the jordans
Jordan 1s all come with the same lace length. Try to spread the sides apart a little more and break them in if you can

PSA: This absolutely destroyed my first 3 pairs of Jordan’s. When you wear them this loose, your heel will move separately from your shoe when you take a step. After a few months you’ll notice that you’ve completed rubbed away the heel guard inside the shoe. Stop trying to impress other people and wear your shoes correctly, AKA actually tie them so they stay tightly on your feet.
Yea but for me when they too tight my feet smell really bad

@@Hunter668 Yes I realized there are more factors at play here that won’t apply to everybody. I’ve always preferred my shoes a half size bigger than my feet so my toes aren’t jammed together. This in combination with loose laces causes the rubbing problem that ruined my shoes. Most people wear shoes so small their toes get warped over the course of their lives so shoe laces are just there for decoration I guess 😂
