I feel so bad for Randeep Hooda....he has been such a powerhouse talent that the audiences love and respect but no one in bollywood gives two cents about and it really breaks my heart...i kinda want him to move to hollywood and i liked him very much in extraction....hopefully he made good impression with Chris hemsworth and the russos and Sam Hargrave and they moght rope him in in next projects....i feel like it is too late for Randeep Hooda in bollywood...he deserves so so much more
Randeep Hooda story is a perfect example of how nepotism is not a problem in Bollywood. Groupism and favoritism are. You can be an outsider like Akshay or Karthik Arryan and still get same if not better benefits than star kids if you become favorite of different producers and directors and join their groups.
Hit the nail on the head! There is an element of lookism as well. Actors who look a certain way are given preferential treatment , on both sides of the gender divide. There is a definite bias towards actors with Caucasian looks within the Chopra-Johar-Kapoor-Khan cabal. Other production houses like UTV and Phantom would at least consider actors like Madhavan or Nawaz or Devaiya or Rajkumar Rao. We Indians have been fed a certain ideal of beauty in our heads that pharmaceutical companies profit off of. Talented actors like Randeep Hooda do not stand a chance against the fair-skinned chocolate boys.
I have seen Akshay old interviews he was not given respect in his initial time by producers and no one used to treat him like hero. Akshay had a very struggling life so yes now he is favourite as he have given back to back hits but surely for 21 feeling bad as why producers can't back that film.

Akshay is somewhat more appealing in multiple genres while Randeep is also appealing in serious roles....If we go by this guy's view then the film which was shelved shouldn't have been offered to someone else...i mean what logic is that? Though it was unlucky for Randeep's part but come on....many projects meet the same fate but the actors who give up everything on that project don't lament forever.....the one who is capable would ultimately seal the deal and that's true for everything. This story I guess was also repeated with Sushant Singh Rajput's ...'pani' he also worked very hard for the charactor for good two years and during which he refused so many good offers but the film was stopped for reasons best known to them...guess it's a common practice in bollywood...my heart really crys for fine actors like Sushant and hudda..list is endless.

Finally someone has pointed out the double standard of the Indian audience. It is we who are to be blamed for content not being the king in Bollywood. You are totally correct about what Sushant did unknowingly when he left us. I wish he could have stuck in the game like Randeep and kept going no matter what. We can remember him and keep his spirit alive by watching his films. Even if Hindi cinema continues to be cruelly competitive and crushing to an talented outsider maybe an independent producer or director will now or sometime, think of Sushant and give an outsider actor his or her opportunity to play a good role in remembrance.

Randeep Hooda story is a perfect example of how nepotism is not a problem in Bollywood. Groupism and favoritism are. You can be an outsider like Akshay or Karthik Arryan and still get same if not better benefits than star kids if you become favorite of different producers and directors and join their groups.
Hit the nail on the head! There is an element of lookism as well. Actors who look a certain way are given preferential treatment , on both sides of the gender divide. There is a definite bias towards actors with Caucasian looks within the Chopra-Johar-Kapoor-Khan cabal. Other production houses like UTV and Phantom would at least consider actors like Madhavan or Nawaz or Devaiya or Rajkumar Rao. We Indians have been fed a certain ideal of beauty in our heads that pharmaceutical companies profit off of. Talented actors like Randeep Hooda do not stand a chance against the fair-skinned chocolate boys.

Bro he is a good friend of Neeraj Pandey, if he forces him he surely get MS Dhoni movie but he just ask That he can play Neeraj said he need a younger actor so he didn't get it. By far Randeeps Movie was stucks for 2yrs coz of production difficultys he steps down from Movie coz it was taking a lot of time and he gets the Offer of Netflix's Extraction and he chose that. Then Akshay announced it in 2018.

But bhai audience ki bi galti hai. If Randeep would have done the role the movies collection would not have been the same as Akshay's. Sarabjit movie is a perfect example. He did so much hardwork but response from audience was not good.

I want to ask you one thing:-
If you and your friend are applying for the same job and your friend has put more hardwork in it(and you know it), and somehow you get selected for the job(reason could be anything) would you leave the job to give it to your friend?

Even if Hindi cinema continues to be cruelly competitive and crushing to an talented outsider maybe an independent producer or director will now or sometime, think of Sushant and give an outsider actor his or her opportunity to play a good role in remembrance.

Akshay same took PrithviRaj from Sushant and Jolly LLB from Arshad Varsi. He is such a clever person. He is making all of us foolish with his fake patriotism. Because he knows very well we all Indians love our country very much that’s why with that our emotions he is making all of us fool and making money. Just think about it. In real life he married a superstar’s daughter. He is a Canadian citizen. His son is studying in US but this mean clever person teaching us patriotism. And we are just following him.
