It’s funny cuz I was introduced to Hank Pym through Avengers: United They Stand. In that cartoon he leads the Avengers and he's in a happy marriage with Jan. It was years before I found out that's… not their typical dynamic lol. Not in the comics or even other adaptations. But I like that EMH Hank is a pacifist, even if, again, that’s not usually how he’s characterized. I think it’s really tragic how his life falls apart. I do wish we had gotten more seasons, cuz it feels like there’s a character arc there that goes unresolved.
Yo agreed one reason I hated the mcu starting out. Felt like the swept this away so they could focus on movie tie ins or more closer adaptions to them. Would be ecstatic to see a return of EMH like we got with X-men 97!!!
Such a pity that this show got canceled! I honestly thought it was the best animated versions of the Avengers. And I don’t know what kind of hairstyle Janet has, but I love it! Plus, the Black Widow's personality was much more tolerable in this version. Unlike the other animated show where she's just the typical bitch; always mad for no reason with next to no redeeming qualities!
@@sougotokiwa8439 Damn right! Plus, the Black Widow's personality was much more tolerable in this version. Unlike the other animated show where she's just the typical bitch; always mad for no reason with next to no redeeming qualities! (Hey, maybe I should add that to my previous comment)
In a show already packed to the brim with definitive versions of the characters, Wasp might just stand out at THE peak character. Because throughout all of Marvel comics, tv shows, and movies, this is the BEST version of Wasp I've ever seen. The show just wouldn't be as good without her, she added so much to the personality and dynamics of the team. Respect to this version of Ant-Man as well, I will never be able to take another version of the character over this version of Hank. I loved how he was a pacifist scientist who didn't want to fight, he wanted to help and reform. That is such a unique way for a superhero to act, it feels perfectly Jedi! It's hard for me to reconcile this version of the character I fell in love with the version I see in the MCU or the comic version who had serious violence issues.
@@QwuithLordDartox Honestly, if I was asked to do an animated show on The Avengers, best believe I'd go with the original team like in the original comics. Black Widow isn't a bad character by any means, but can't go wrong with the classics.
Before this show, I only read X-Men comics, and the Avengers stuff was always more "over there" for me. After watching this show though, did it make me an Avengers fan? Not really, though it did earn my respect and somewhat piqued my interest. But this show made me an Ant-man fan for sure. The way this show handled Hank and Janet was truly amazing
Janet and Hank aren't compatible. All she did was push him to be a full time super hero. Which Hank is the pacifist scientist. Hank was pushed into becoming yellow jacket because of not just what Janet was expecting but what others expected too.
For almost the whole time I watched this show, I felt sorry for Hank. Having to deal with an explosive, impulsive wild card like Jan. She rarely listened to him, and she was always rushing headlong into danger. Made me kind of resent her.
The sad thing is, Janet's even worse about listening to Hank/being impulsive/more unlikeable in the comics. I actually liked her more in this show, lol
@@axis4813 I think its two different types of Abuse. Jan emotionally abused hank and Hank snapped one time and accidentally hit her, however the writers misread him moving his hands as hitting and it spawned what we know about hank today. But overall hank has always been super passive and calm in the comics up until the ultimate uni
You know, if this show continued, I can definitely see the endgame being Hank rehabilitating himself. Not going back to Ant-Man of course, but his old, more gentle personality would come back. And he and Janet would get married or become official.
Considering abomination had his worst defeats at the hands(and boot) of pym, I think Emh abomination qualified as an enemy of antman more than an enemy of the hulk.

Makes me wonder why such a good show got cancelled. But then again they cancelled xmen evolution and spectacular Spider-Man so me thinks the people in charge a just plain dumb
They cancelled "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" because Jeph Loeb's dumbass self wanted something to appeal to kids more since Season 1 had overarching storylines and he assumed kids couldn't understand it ( despite other shows doing the exact same thing ) and the higher ups wanted a show that resembles the MCU more ( Black Widow as a founding member which excludes Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, the team resembles the movies, etc ).
Hank never wanted to be a superhero. All he wants to be it’s just a normal scientist. He never listens to Janet. And he only wants what’s best for himself than just for Janet. And he always wants Janet to accept being a scientist. But Janet has already chosen her own path to be a superhero and an agent. It’s a good thing Janet is more superhero than Hank is. And of course, Hank always has a habit of pushing others away. The both of them have opposite lives. Janet is more amazing than Hank. She understands a lot better than he does. And if Hank is not willing to be a superhero or team player for the avengers and even for Janet, then she and the avengers are all better off without him.
It's more accurate to say that both want something the other doesn't. Hank is a pacifist while Janet loves fighting. Hank likes science while Janet doesn't understand as much. They're both pretty terrible to each other. MCU is probably the best version of their relationship, and they spent decades apart from each other.
Their relationship is weird to me, in and out of comics. it’s clear they’re not meant to be but at the same time I have a hard time seeing them with anyone else.
