This is my first reaction to "Make a Wish" by NCT U. I was told that they are younger brothers of EXO, since they are from the same company. So it was really interesting for me to see them. It was wonderful experience!
I started this channel to dive into the world of KPOP, so I can't react to the same group every time. I want to give a chance to all groups, just as I want to meet new ones. Therefore, I hope for your patience and understanding)

That guy with the yellow hair is Xiaojun. He is from WayV (NCT’s chinese unit) and they are about to have a comeback soon. He is an AMAZING vocalist, Fantastic dancer and and visual king. Their songs, Love talk, Nectar, bad alive just to name a few is amazingly good.

Oh, really? Didn't know that. When I was getting into them I liked pretty much all of their title tracks at first listen because they were so something else.

That's Xiaojun from wayv!! He has one of the best vocals I've ever heard. If you want to check out more of his voice, he was on Lee Mujin's show, his cover of Celine Dion's ashes is seriously so beautiful. He really is an angel. 💚

It makes me happy when Xiaojun catches ppl attention 😭 He's super talented and deserves the praise! He's my ultimate bias in all of NCT too. All of the members are talented tho and bring something unique to the table.
Warning for you: If Make A Wish was hard to digest or kinda vibe with, just expect to not like a few songs by some of the units. NCT is a very experimental group but that's what makes them stand out from other kpop groups. Their sound and style is what makes them my favorite group in kpop.
P.S.: If you wanna see more of Xiaojun, he's in NCT's unit called WayV 😉

NCT are known for their experimental music And they have a very unique concept within the whole Kpop industry
They are 23 members in total With 4 different subunits ( subunits are the smaller groups that are created within a big group )
R&B changes are pretty common in Kpop so it's nothing knew really
Getting to know them is the Best Experience Ever

SM idols never fails, especially EXO. let's react more SM groups, and you'll be surprised to find out many talented groups, of course with the visuals that no each other agency has, because SM Ent is the golden visual agency ever 😄

Several things i love about this reaction😆
1. The way he was confused by the chorus lol. This is like one of their public friendly songs that they have lol can't imagine what he'd think of Kick It 🤭
2. The way his face changed when xiaojun appeared. Def love at first sight lmaooo 🤣

SHOTARO is a PROFESSIONAL dancer. NCT is overall excellent performer! But Shotaro is indeed professional in dancing!
Just a warning 😅 NCT U & 127 tend to be VERY experimental and are always changing their sound. You may not be sure you like it on the 1st listen (I.e. Sticker, or Kick-It ... 🙃 in my personal experience 😉) but after a few listens they grow on you 😅 (Sticker is a now a favorite). NCT is an adventure of interesting instrumental arrangement, amazing layered vocals and strong rap (all while dancing with precision).
A nice overview is Resonance -- has all the units in a medley of songs from the 2020 album. 🥰
Also it took me a few re-watch of THIS video 😬 to realize some of the odder fashion choices were due to being genies 😅😆 like rub the lamp & get 3 wishes genies.
This guy in yellow hair is Xiaojun. If you like his voice please check WayV "Nectar" - or "Moonwalk" (WayV is Chinese subunit of NCT). Probably you also will like Ten from NCT. Recently he released a new song "Birthday" and it's🔥 If you have some time you also can check Ones "Same scent" on "Come back home".

It often happens that those who like EXO also like NCT. They are groups from the same company, they belong to two consecutive generations, they have common coaches, and their experimental music represents the evolution of EXO's style.
Good reaction, more NCT please! They're one of the coolest groups in kpop, they style and songs are very experimental and the 23 members are super versatile and cool. NCT is divided in 4 subunits: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream and Wayv, but they all belong in NCT. The one you liked is Xioajun and he's in NCT U and Wayv. If you wanna see more of him check out: NCT U's "Let's Play Ball" and Wayv's "Miracle" (he has dark blue hair in those), Wayv's Love Talk and Moonwalk (blonde again). The guy with the tasty voice is Jaemin, he's in NCT dream and NCT U (check out NCT Dream's Ridin, he has light blue hair). For the other units, check out NCT 127's Kick it and Vampire, and NCT Dream's Boom, Hot Sauce and Beatbox.

Now that you've seen NCT U, you've opened the door for NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV. The angel Xiao Jun is in WayV, the Chinese sub unit of NCT. It was just announced that their next album is releasing on the 28th of this month.
FYI: NCT U is a rotational unit so any NCT member can be picked for any song depending on who fits the concept.

Thank you for reacting. Leave it to NCT to make you question whether you like it or not lol. That's their thing. The most experimental group. There are a lot of switch-ups in their songs in general. Most nctzens recommend listening to the song a few times you will end up loving it most of the time. One thing is for sure the vocals, rap, & dancing are top-tier within all 23 members of NCT (currently 4 subunits where the members are scattered across.)
It's a big group & it will only keep growing. Their music is very experimental but I recommend giving the group I try I don't think you'll regret it. Also, SM EXO & NCT'S company is known as the house of vocals for having elite vocalists so they're known for amazing r&b switch-ups & high notes in their bridges or towards the end of the song. They'll have a similar style in terms of how their music is produced & eventually you'll be able to tell other groups apart from the SM sound.

The one you said like an Angel is Xiaojun.. And don't worry for confuse or not liking the song bcs it's common in nct music.. Nct is well known for their weird sound and drastic change up in music.. For new users it's may be weird but for Nctzen(fandom name) we used to it but also some time it it confusing.. Nct is a complicated group which they have 23 members and have their subunit which is NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WAY V and NCT U (rotational members who fits the concept of their song).. So you will be confuse for how nct work but later you can adapt that..

You will LOVE Stray Kids. Maniac, Backdoor, Venom & Freeze. They are very popular.
Stray Kids have great bops, but also some amazing ballads with their b-sides ("Sorry, I love you" or "Gone Away" or "Ex"), and some just fun songs "Up all night" or "Christmas EveL"
It's ok, Xiaojun smirk for me too in this video and then I went down the rabbit hole finding out more about him. He's definitely a whole package!

NCT is my favorite boy group and they’re incredible! I highly recommend you the other MVs they released after Make a Wish and completed the Resonance album (in order: 90’s Love, Work It and Resonance).

a gd amount of NCT's songs take a second listening to get used to em they r known for their experimental sound and where criticized for it when they started saying that they made "noise" music, but u know what they came with even crazier beats lmao they have some tracks dissing the haters straight out so yeay they r cool, i can guess that other comments have said that they r a huge grp but don't let it intimidate you, u can consider that NCT are like 3 or 4 groups under the same brand name and get to know em one by one no rush no need to know all the member in a short time, each unit has its own sound (NCT127 experimental and edgy, NCT dream: easier sound youthful and playful, WayV: sexier, wavy, and swavvy sound with great electric guitar breaks most of the time, NCT u, can be all of that), some members have solo tracks too but no solo debut yet (gotta be checked when ready ;) )

It's so normal to be confused of NCT. I, as a 12 years Kpop stan, I always confused and didn't like for the first time listening but the more you repeat their songs (tbh, Make a wish is one of my 1st time listening but immediately love NCT's song🤣), you'll more addicted to their songs. FAN FACT: EXO and NCT is the same label (SM Entertainment, the father of KPOP and first ever legendary Kpop company so the groups under their label are always on top and so hard to be their artists) and EXO is senior and idol of NCT. They're both so talented,handsome and super funny, that's why I became SM ent's boy groups stan especially EXO and NCT. I've been over 9 years EXOL/Aeri (EXO fandom's official name/nickname) & 1 year NCTZEN/Czennie ( NCT fandom's official name/nickname). So I strongly recommend to check their other MVs, Stage Performances & Dance Practice videos. After you get a lil more what they're, you need to watch their profile guides and fan made crack head videos (you need to choose carefully or asked to us because there're so many fan made vids and some will not informative but you'll be more confused cause of inside jokes) that will help you more understand who they're.

Kpop groups are very talented. Their vocals, rap, and choreo are on another level. Many of them do multiple genres. I suggest you check out Seventeen, Monsta X, and Dreamcatcher for more great songs.
My first time hearing nct song and thanks to you, actually I only listening exo songs and other that maybe this time nct I add to the list, one thing that I heard about nct is because they huge fan of exo but I never listen to their song 😭🥺

For a freshman to Kpop, NCT can be quite an 'adventurous' choice I would say but since you r already into them, I hope you will find more of their other songs enjoyable. The yellow hair angel is my bias, Xiaojun, main vocal from the Chinese sub unit of NCT - WayV, no doubt he really owns this song imo. I personally suggest you checking Take off, Moonwalk or Miracle as well if you would like to hear him more often ^-^ anyway hope to see more reaction video from you

NCT's whole group concept is based on dreams, so in "Make a Wish" (Birthday Song)" they talk about making a wish like on your birthday because wishes are often things you dream of happening. Everything NCT does is about dreams, dreaming or being in a dream state. Therefore, that is the story you will see being repeated and referenced in all of their MVs across all of their sub-units. And on top of all that, it's also part of SM's SM Culture Universe storyline, so it's connected to all of SM's other groups' MVs and stories, including EXO's and SuperM's storylines.
NCT-U was NCT's first sub-unit, which debuted in April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the members, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs span a wide range of styles and genres and can include anywhere for all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members. This sub-unit is designed to be fluid, which means the group is constantly changing and rearranging its members.
As you saw, "Make A Wish (Birthday song)" has 7 members -- Taeyong (NCT's leader, main rapper, main dancer), Doyoung (main vocal) and Jaehyun (main vocal and visual), who are members of NCT-127; Lucas (rapper and visual) and Xiaojun (main vocal), who are members of WayV; Jaemin (lead rapper), who is a member of NCT-Dream; and Shotaro (main dancer), who has not been made a member of a fixed group yet.

As you may know, SM Entertainment is known for having some of the best dancers and singers in the industry. That is just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing singing and dance skills. So even the company's rappers are unbelievable singers and dancers. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry, who also happens to have some of the industry's top dancers. When it comes to SM, this is just the skill level we have come to expect. SM is an expert at finding and developing the best singers and dancers in Kpop.
NCT -- which stands for Neo (a pop culture term that means new/original) Culture Technology -- means that they are constantly experimenting with their sound and style. The only thing you can say stays the same with their songs is that it's very Neo (new/original) and it embraces multiple cultures with a technological, futuristic vibe. Hence, why they are called NCT. (Although a lot of NCT's song have strong sounds, they also have many ballads and softer beautiful songs as well.)
NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an constantly expanding number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL
NCT currently has 23 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM Entertainment's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. (They just added 2 new members -- Sungchan and Shotaro -- at the end of 2020, who are expected to eventually become members of a new sub-unit.* )
*NCT probably will be growing to 26 members soon. SM has been showcasing 3 new SMRookies -- Shohei, Eunseok and Seunchan -- lately and they just recently performed at the SMTown concert with Sungchan and Shotaro. So, by all indications, it looks more and more like NCT will be getting 3 new members and they probably will be part of the new unit. It is speculated that the next sub-unit will be a Japanese based unit because Shotaro and Shohei are Japanese and they recently have been doing a lot of promotions in Japan.
NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle).
The second sub-unit is NCT-127, which began in July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit, so the member lineup stays the same most of the time. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world, which means it's 127's job to represent Seoul -- the birthplace of Kpop -- around the world.
NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016, and it is made up of the 7 youngest members of the group. All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 20 and 23 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.)
SM originally created NCT-Dream with the idea that if they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees.
The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they were no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (the leader/captain of Dream) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun we thought would be graduating in 2019 and form a new NCT sub-unit or be add to a sub-unit that already existed. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut sometime in 2020 and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM announced at the beginning of 2020 that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole "graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group.
The fourth sub-unit is WayV, which debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. Most of the members of WayV had already debuted originally as members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese.

The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name like the other sub-units is because, at the time of their debut, the conflict between the Korean and Chinese government was at its peak and China wasn't allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict, SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCT's Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities.
NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with English versions of song like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as a U.S. concert tours and promotional tours with the American media, etc.
So, this year is NCT's 6th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted.
Taeyong (the leader of NCT and a member of NCT-U and NCT-127), Mark (a member of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127 and NCT-Dream) and Ten and Lucas (members of NCT-U and WayV) are also members of SuperM.

Charming reaction to the FANtastic MakeAWish (MAW) NCT is famous for insane looks & talent coupled with mad dance & vocal skills, high fashion & styling with weird concepts & crazy good production values. They work with top industry producers their songs are experimental complex & challenging and as you see most of their MVs require multiple views just to take them all in.
People are pointing out for you there is a LOT of interaction between the subunits in the vast diverse NeoCultureTechnology sphere (NCT127 NCTDream, NCTWayV & this one NCTu the combined projects unit) there are also many collaborations between NCT & other groups in this company (SMentertainment) which is inclues EXO.
If no one has mentioned it yet two NCT of these members in this MV, Taeyong & Lucas, also perform with two seniors in EXO (Baekhyun & Kai), in the showcase supergroup SuperM along with Taemin (of SHINee), Mark (of NCT127 & NCTDream) and Ten (of NCTWayV).
Taeyong (who DID that slide in at the start) is the figurehead mentor & "pillar" of the entire 23+ member NCT franchise "TY" a true Ace is the Leader, Center, Main Rapper, Main Dancer, Vocalist & Visual of the NCT flagship NCT127. Charismatic Lucas (the mafia boss) is a top NCT draw who has been on hiatus. His home unit is WayV with you new fav Xiaojun.
SuperM has been on military hiatus but is preparing a comeback in early 23. Hand selected by Lee Sooman for this showcase group, these idols are ALL top tier. Their mindblowing debut MV is "Jopping" but taeyong & lucas are particularly tasty in this entertaining MV a good one to start on. Enjoy!
