I live in NH and ski fast and firm conditions often. Been skiing Deacon 84 as my front side carver last two seasons. Perigrine uses the same technology as Deacon 84. Volkl also has offered a Deacon 72+ 76 plus a Master model which has a WC Race plate. All 4 models are high performance skis. The Master version makes a good beer league racer. This season it’s now called Perigrine .
Matt, how does the Peregrine 82 compare to the Blizzard Brahma 82? Do they feel significantly different in their carving and edge hold? Can you push the Brahma harder than the Peregrine?
Great question, love both. The Brahma is built with more metal and is overall burlier. I would rather be on it for variable/crappy snow, especially off piste. But I think the Peregrine is a more-fun carving/on-trail ski. I think it's livelier, and it feels like it's built to carve (pulls you into carves, smooth, etc), while the Brahma 82 is a skinnier version of a ski that's meant to be a true aggressive all-mountain ski (Brahma 88). I think you can push them both hard and wouldn't give the edge to the Brahma there. Edge hold is strong between both. -Matt

Stockli ?
Why is that people, who are supposed to be pros, never care to pronounce VOELKL right? It's so offputting.
