How to triple your Dollars and Euro in Argentina 🇦🇷

  • When I arrived in Argentina I was confused about the money. Some Argentinian I had met in Europe had told me to bring a lot of cash because by exchanging it in the street I would get double the money I would by withdrawing it from ATM. How could that be possible? Sounded too good to be true and I worried about possibly being scammed. The reality turned out being rosy.

Your english is fine Danny. Don't listen to the whiners who have never left the states in their life. You really don't need to put the subtitles on the screen at all. Really they just clutter the screen. Those few people who might not understand you can always hit the CC button on screen and add subtitles any time they want. Your videos are good man. I'm going to watch them all. Would love to see a few more from Argentina. Happy travels.

My aim is to show that you don't necessarily need to be ripped off by banks (that even now will take a total of 30-40% fee cause they add a 10-15% withdrawal commission) or go to find the unofficial street exchange (that are only in big cities and in some specific streets)

Just a quick English tip regarding an error that many Romance language speakers make when speaking in English:
The verb "explain" takes an indirect object. "I will explain to you how to get to the station", for example. We can never say "explain me" or "explain you" in English.

As all the tourist were going to the illegal market, the Government implemented an especial regime for payments with foreign credit cards, that is hard to explain, but it used a different exchange rate that is the result of buying an stock in dollar and selling it in pesos (not so different rate to the illegal market).
I'm not sure that rule is still in place. However, the new Government changed the official exchange rate and there isn't that much of a difference within rates now.
