I wholeheartedly agree with all of this.
Although I will say I am one of those people that wish to be younger when they're sad. Mainly because of the simplicity of being a kid. For me life was very simple as a kid and growing up shit gets a lot more complicated.
Thing is though no one ever loses their inner child in my opinion, there's just so much more stuff in life that may or may not block it out. Cuz you're not really losing that part of you, more things are becoming apart of you.
    Great video btw.

both my mom and grandma have cancer. it's hard when your family has it, and its sure as hell hard to have it. the most important part is to be there for your loved ones and enjoy every moment with them and never take it for granted.
i wish you and your grandma the best, she sounds like a very brave and strong one. i hope everything goes well.

really sobering video.. you really said a lot in just three minutes. When I start romanticizing my childhood, sometimes I remember that there were still plenty of hardships at that time; bills were being paid, chores were being done, there were plenty of responsibilities back then as well, it just wasn't me that had to bother with them. According to that line of thinking, wishing to be a child free of responsibilities feels kind of hedonistic and selfish. i guess what a happy adulthood is all about is minimizing time spent on chores and maximizing time spent with loved ones or doing things you love, while that is of course easier said than done. A lot of it comes down to having a healthy mindset as well.

The recognition of the value of complexity is rare. Trauma of various types makes it tricky to positively associate with your emotions in the present moment, and not everyone has a network of people that support them through that. Wishing for childhood is sad in itself, agreed.

Some people seek the joy of living simply. Some just want to start over from square one. Others might want closure - From mistakes they made, or things they missed out on. Ultimately, people have different reasons for wanting to go back and be a kid again. Guess just the idea of "having more time" could be comforting as a whole.

2:10 Well that right there is kind of the problem mentality in-it-of-itself. This is a myth, every child living in eternal, blissful, euphoric ignorance 24/7 every day until the stroke of their 18th birthday.
Like, *no.* THIS is why some people foolishly crave to revert to their youth, they've *forgotten* that life & its struggles doesnt actually matter how old you are.
When you tell everyone that the lives kids/teens experience dont matter & childhood is a temporaty shield from reality, and then people start using that very flawed logic to claim things like "childhood is way better"...what did you expect?
Adulthood isnt some automatic badge of honor with maybe a few kinks in the hose but otherwise its paradise. Kids, teens, adults of *all* age have individual lives that have their ups & downs.

The only way you spend childhood sheltered from the ills of the world is if you're in a nice country with middle class parents. And even then not all kids are sheltered by their parents from things like cancer in loved ones, thats more like a parenting style. For most of human history you were expected to work full time by age 12 at the latest. Often it started at age 8.

People who say this shit don't have friends or meaningful relationships cause they have nothing forcing them to leave the house and converse with people anymore.
