I rescued a dog that had spent her life in shelters. She failed at being at home trained. She is the homely little girl that noone wanted. She couldn't get potty trained. I promised her she would never be in a cage again. The problem has been that she gets up at night and she pees. I keep potty pads down and she uses those. It's a win win. I have PTSD and realized that she does too. We both have startal response problems and I can help her calm down with hugs. She had to get used to love. She wants to be a good dog. I just have to make it so. She was the least likely to succeed. Now she's my Teenie Weenie.

Gayle Conant oh that’s so sweet, bless ur heart (and hers). Animals seem to always make things better. I have a beagle that was in a shelter for over a year too that nobody wanted. She also gets outta bed at night to potty, even tho I have a HUGE yard and she’s in and out all day. She has never seen a cage with me, never will... she’s sleeping next to me and my husband and her 2 puggle sisters right now.. (It’s 4:10 am and I have severe sleeping issues) which sometimes I just curl up w her cause she’s so sweet and I eventually dose off. I love this sweet little dog, she’ll be spoiled the rest of her life 😂

WELCOME TO MY CURLS Be really careful when you trim a lurcher’s nails. The quick - the nerve bit extends a way into the nail. They have long greyhound nails which helps the turn when they are running fast.

If Pollux loves Toys, you should work with it. I once see a Border Collie, he had something with his hips and was not allowed to run or walk long until the hip got fixed. In that Time he needed some mental exhaustion instead of the physical....because he should not walk so much. The owner trained him picking up and bring his toys to her. If she says bring the blue ball, he braught his blue ball. If she says bring the brown Teddy he brought it.....he knows all his Toys by name.....he has 58 Toys and could bring them all on demand....perhaps Pollux would have a lot of fun with such a mental training.👍🐶
here in Germany it isn't allowed to let the dogs to be unsecured in the car while driving. we have to put they into a kennel or behind a security net, because when you have to stop suddenly the dogs are like bullets.
We adopted a Bichon from a shelter. He was 1 when we adopted him and 16 when he passed. It still brings tears to our eyes when we talk about him. We loved him so much.
Love Pollux he reminds me very much of a short coated Collie, I would think he has some in him! he has such expressive eyes. What's not to love!!

I adopted my dog from a woman who passed on from cancer. Bella had been an inside dog. She is half Boston and half Chihuahua. Introducing her to nature, ducks, bridges and life produced a sense of awe and wonder in her. It gives me such joy to watch her take in aliveness.

You're right about that!!! Henrietta the Chicken so SO LOUD!!!! You can hear her squeaking from anywhere in our house. But Pollux loves her so we just deal with it. LOL
You should name all his favourite toys, Henrietta is hilarious. My dog would have taken her squeaker out as soon as we got home. It was a brave choice but Pollux loves it a lot. I think he gets everybody up with a smile when the second alarm goes off with Pollux working his chicken.

Oh that Maxxie!!! He is teaching Pollux so much! Good and bad! How to bark at squirrels, how to bark when someone comes to the door, how to jump on the bed, how to take naps on the couch......LOL. I recorded a video yesterday that will be out soon. I'm sitting in the living room floor taking to the camera....and the dogs decide to have playtime behind me. It's hilarious!! And soooooo sweet. Wow what a difference a few months makes! Pollux is really starting to settle into his new forever home and family and it is a beautiful thing to watch him blossom into who he was always meant to be. A happy well adjusted loving dog. I am so happy to see he landed into the sweetest family..... He deserved it! He also has a pretty cool older brother too!!! Maxxie was looking adorable in his UK hoodie too!
I love how Pollux picked out that specific toy way deep down. He knew exactly what he wanted, and you can tell just how thrilled and proud he is with it. And Max’s hoodie? Such a cute outfit that will get tons of use I’m sure. Can’t wait to see a video of Randy’s reactions to both!!

He's such a beautiful boy, and you're very right - he's so deerlike and alert, clearly a very intelligent dog. You can actually SEE him thinking and learning, his brain must be on overdrive doing so much catch-up. I am so happy he got such an excellent and loving home. He's going to be a great dog.

Pollux is a happy happy guy. At this very moment, he is laid out in my living room floor recovering from a big play session with Maxxie. This happens every morning and they are so funny to watch!
I wonder if it was partly because they had 25 puppies to get adopted.
maxxie never answered why he was in pollux's bed. he just went straight to pollux, like "ask him -- he knows why..." and you might get in trouble for bringing that chicken in the house...🤣 thanks for sharing!

Funny thing is....Maxxie now gets in Pollux's bed every single night. He really likes it for some reason. And he makes me pick him up so Pollux can get in it LOL

I am an elderly dog lover. From the time I met my first husband (he always wanted a Doberman. I got Holly for him our first Christmas. He was thrilled to go pick out his little girl from a litter of 12. She was 6 weeks old, & the runt of the litter. What an incredibly intelligent breed Doberman's are! My husband died 15 years ago today. He knew 3 of our girls, Holly; Candy; Cally, the last Doberman was "My Girl" from the minute I met her.

I just discovered your channel this morning did I have fun watching!! I am a fan right out the gate. I had an American foxhound named Hayden. After 15 years together he passed away last Chirstmas. He was a rescue at 2 years old so 17 years was a good long life. Thanks again for making me laugh and smile during this crazy time of social distancing and quarantine.

Beautiful babies! Pollux really fits in. It didn't take him long to learn what you're saying. God Bless you, for adopting this sweet baby. I did that some years ago and we believe Rambo was abused. He had a good life in our home. Two of them are company for each other! Can't imagine why someone didn't adopt him sooner.

pollux is extremely gentle! part of it may be because he’s scared, but he won’t take toys unless they are on the floor and even so, he’s so gentle picking it up. it’s adorable!
So glad you opened your hearts and home to Pollux. Thank you! If you look on Amazon they have seat belt leashes that you can hook to their harnesses so they can ride much safer in the car. Will prevent them from going flying if your in an accident or jumping out when not suppose to. We're in seatbelts, so should our pets. I use "Slow" I like them cuz they go over the headrest and lock. Enjoy all your happiness your new dog has given your family 🐶❤
Your adoption story brought tears to my eyes and alot of memories of when I adopted my Simba (RIP). He was with me for 14 years. Pollux is a sweetheart and a blessing. Lmao!! I need a chicken for Holly!! She has already eviscerated 5 stuffed animals. I did get her a beef flavored nylabone. She’s a chewer, and she’s quick to unstuffed the poor unsuspecting toy. Looks like fun was had by all!

Just discovered your story ... what an uplifting family ... somewhere in my head I thought Pollux's name rang a bell so I Googled it ... he and his brother, Castor, were Greek characters and eventually were renamed to become the Gemini twins ... Pollux is becoming a calm and contented fellow now. Everything he lacked back at the animal refuge, he now has, the empty lonely life is past. Without the excitement he is pretty cool.
I had rescued Greyhounds that loved squeaky toys. They preferred the soft plush ones. The rubbery ones didn't last long and I was afraid of rubbery bits getting swallowed. After my last greyhound passed away, I kept his favorite squeaky toy. It is on my desk.
Love your doggie adventures. Thanks for giving Pollyx a good home. He is a sweet heart. But..I know how much you love them and want to keep them safe. Please get them a seat belt for the car rides. Holding one in front is the most dangerous thing for you two as well as Maxi. Please!

My dog Brie squeaking her many squeaky toys makes me laugh too. I thought it would drive me crazy, but she has so much fun...especially when I throw them and she can pounce on them. She finally learned to play fetch...and sometimes she tosses them around herself and jumps on them to make them really squeak loudly. Hopefully, your Randy has learned to laugh at the squeaky toy noise too.

When you first arrived at the pet store and Pollux wanted to leave, I believe he thought he was back at the shelter and didn't want to be there. He wanted to go home and be with his family. The hoodie looks so cute on Maxxie..tuck the hood inside out, it'll stay put. How funny that out of everything in that store, Pollux picks the squeaking Christmas Chicken LOL. My dog use to break open the toy and take the sqeaky part out! LOL
Pollux is a lucky dog to have such a wonderful furever family. But, the greatest gifts of all will be those that he gives to you.
Pollux and Maxie charm the heck out of me. Our dog Big Ben LOVED those chickens too. One day mt mom's husband was driving up the highway behind a haywagon. He thought he saw a poor dead chicken hanging from the side and thought what a terrible demise to be scooped in a baler. As he passed up beside he saw the chicken was wearing a pink bikini and was going to give the cows a good laugh when it arrived in the barnyard and squeaked.
First off, I had a good cry when I saw the adoption video. ALL my dogs have been rescue dogs; and they know it and are wonderful. Pollux deserves a life of love; all dogs do. My dog Stella, was actually my Ex's (and wife number 2; I am number #1 - what does that tell ya) dog. So when wife #2 (a real gem) divorced him, they were going to dump their shelter dog, Stella. Ahhhhhhhh no. He is working on wife #3 (hence, he may be the common denominator), so I said no way, me and the kids will take her. She is a love. Everyone should check out shelter dogs; they know when you save them. and...LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!
