One of the many thing I love about your channel is the technical aspects that you teach all of us. Amazing! After this video Insta360 better be ready for record sales. I know I'm buying at least one. Well done Francis and Tony!
Best angle was that last segment, where you can see the whole bike, totally unlike any other camera! image quality drops, but expected, and the footage is king. Nice one Francis
omg what a great way to mount that camera on the first few seconds of the video. You are not locked into a mount like with normal action cameras. i like that you can spin it around as needed!
Content with the Go2 (inc audio) was really engaging. Only angle that wasn’t so good was that rear facing set up on Tony’s bike. I keep trying, but I find 360 footage so artificial looking - no doubt I’m a minority and the cameras are flying off the shelves. Finally, Tony’s a complete natural and adds a lot to these videos.
Incredible versatile camera!, smaller also means easier to mount. It shows in the footage. Auto leveling video while cornering heavily looks so dynamic!
Killer shots ... was a sceptic but this video has changed my mind. Really loved the rear wheel and front fork shots as this really shows the camera's versatility and the sound quality was rather good, almost every bit as good as your main camera with the flooffy mic ;-)
They look good little cameras for getting some action shots of the bike. The selfie stick one does make for some interesting footage. Wouldn't take much to make a mount that fitted to the rails on the saddle instead of gaff tape.👍
Top of helmet make good images too, as clipping it to the rucksack. You understood well that changing point of view during the ride is mandatory against boring videos :-)
Looking at your front forks and wheel made me feel ill! Lol. Magnet thing was blinding. My favourite. Tony looks fit! He can still wheelie! Great vid Francis. Looking forward to seeing you race!
Woo! I initially would have thought the 360 would have been toy standard but apparently a very effective cam. A camera on bouncy off road trails like that would have to be a worst case scenario but... the little Insta360 Go 2 made it look easy.
Nice to see some awesome shots of Hamsterley, I always take it for granted due to living so close. County Durham is like one giant hill it honestly feels like you're constantly cycling up hill lol
Given me some ideas for mine. It’s a great little camera. Being magnetic means you can stick it to so many places, got some great shots playing football with my kids with it stuck to the goal posts.
The last scene set up was interesting - you large on the left, Tony smaller on the right. Looked like he was half the size of you but still he powered on downhill ahead of you. Happy trails.
Great demo on what the camera can actually capture! I am impressed! Amazing job you did, gentlemen! Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking
I did wonder what you two were up to when I went past you into the jumpy trail as I then proceeded to ride it like a melon. Was a great day to be out though other than a rather solid meeting with the ground for me. I'd imagine the doing laps will be helping your bike skills no end.
nice tests...and the final selfie stick was in my head half way through and then you did it....all looked great though the 360 camera did some odd distortions...guess each ride would need a few cameras mounted to give editing options that might be better than the 360 on its own...sound was very good too.....thanks to Tony and the spider from hammsterly
The handle bar mount (first one) was superb... great sense of real rider view... unlike some of the helmet cam videos where, as a viewer, I am always trying to look up ahead as you do when you ride. A much better perspective. Rear wheel mount... interesting. Body mount, annoying like the helmet cam mounts... OK for maybe short shots but longer runs just meh! Fork-o-rama view was cool. 360 mount gives some great shots... with some amusing distortions.
still think a gopro will do as its the content that shines through once you get over the bit of wow that a 360 camera offers. the most impressive footage I've seen is from a drone following rider i.e. vegan cyclist. the problem with 360 footage is it draws too much attention to the tech that distracts from the content. what's really interesting is that you've really improved as an mtber. still love to see you on a hard tail as you''ll get so much more trail feedback and build better economy in your riding mojo i.e. not spinning furiously between rollers rather slower cadence for superior line stability/control in terrain. love your work bro.
Can I ask how you pre-determined the angles to set the camera at? The manufactures say use a mobile phone app, is that critical or id guesstimate close enough. I ride Hammers every week, so enjoyed the videos.
Awesome video!! Question: when you press the record-knob on the Insta360 (on the necklace), does it beep? Or anything to show that recoding is on? (since you can't see the light)
the only camera that came off was the heavier one at the end on the end of a selfie stick - the stick broke in half from all the bouncing. The go 2 was very secure though even just with the magnet, I suppose because it's light
I was wondering this too. I just got the camera at the weekend and I'm a bit nervous to try it on the bike in case it pings off and disappears forever! This video is reassuring; I'll have to do some experimenting myself :-)
i think you can do a camera on a go 2 using a stick like the x2 wanna see some views on that cam too stickin it to the saddle which is really cool too! 😊👌
Amazing video, really good fun. I think I am sold on this camera. Only worry is that the battery only lasts about 30 mins and you’d need to put the camera into the case for 20 mins for recharging. How do you plan your shooting around that? On the other hand, lycra on mountain bike? Are you sure you aren’t out there just to drive the GMBN boys nuts? 🥜
I have one. The very wide angle and stabilization would be good as a dash cam. The microphone is marginal. The total recording time is around 30 minutes, and by default it shuts off at 15 minutes recording due to heat. It gets quite hot while operating and this would probably be worse on a car dash. You'd probably be much better off with an old GoPro 4 or something like that.
Go2 is cheaper, much smaller and easier to mount anywhere (wheels!), but has only max. 150 field of view, while X2 has full 360 field of view so you you can make two shots from one video (eg. front and back simultanously).
Brilliant filming and all angles brought something different. Very boring but I wish Grand Tour road racing had some on bike footage. Although how would they cope carrying an extra 26g
Hum .. interesting! Our tracks look way more rough than tours but I may give it a try (we have footage 🤪). Everything can be fixed with duct tape and ty rap over minus 30 degrees 😂
The image quality is quite poor with the full 360 set up , very pixelated and had a weird video game with wonky graphics kind of feel , it also gave me mild motion sickness watching it . Great to see you experimenting with stuff though , keeps the vlog fresh and watchable .
depends what you want from it - it's smaller and more discreet, but doesn't have a screen so you can't see what you're shooting. Battery life is short but you can charge it up in the little case it comes with
I have a question, i want to purchase this camera to record my races and training sessions, i practice xc mountain biking, is the magnetic chest mount safe for xc riding, i dont want to waste 300 bucks on the first ride, i would really appreciate your response
It held on when we used it - but I would use a proper chest mount for peace of mind, you can buy an extra attachment to fit it to existing chest mounts
The Chainstay and down tube footage was class 🔥
The down low shots mounting them to the wheel level looked epic
Footage is genuinely mesmerising. Lovely to see some experimental angles, not something you see on any videos. Top stuff.
Dude, I just started my own channel with that camera based on your suggestions. Thanks a million for the ideas!!
I loved the clip at 1:50 the horizon levelling really showed how steep the berms were as you went round. Great shot 👌
One of the many thing I love about your channel is the technical aspects that you teach all of us. Amazing! After this video Insta360 better be ready for record sales. I know I'm buying at least one. Well done Francis and Tony!
Very impressed with how smooth the footage is with that little camera
Best angle was that last segment, where you can see the whole bike, totally unlike any other camera! image quality drops, but expected, and the footage is king. Nice one Francis
The last set up was pretty sick, but good luck getting the sticky tape residue off Tony's saddle 😉
omg what a great way to mount that camera on the first few seconds of the video. You are not locked into a mount like with normal action cameras. i like that you can spin it around as needed!
That last segment of 360° footage with the 1x2 was really good, please do more of that! Excellent fit on the Atticus kit too 👌
The seatpost angle looked so dope. I've seen it being used in crit races, but it adds a completely different element on the trails. So sick.
I loved the low down shots with the wheel and the 360 at the end was very cool.
Last shots hands down the best
If I had to choose one, the seat post footages are probably the most amazing ones!
Agreed.
I wore my ORANGE! Jersey for my first fully dry ride of the year just the other day. Love it!
First handlebar mount footage is awesome, followed closely by the forks and back wheel.. Great music as always.
Some great footage from all the camera positions but I really enjoyed the ‘selfie stick under saddle’
Incredible versatile camera!, smaller also means easier to mount. It shows in the footage. Auto leveling video while cornering heavily looks so dynamic!
Wow, amazing
😂
Incredible footage. Great to have a true competitor to GoPro and that can only be good for the consumer.
Killer shots ... was a sceptic but this video has changed my mind. Really loved the rear wheel and front fork shots as this really shows the camera's versatility and the sound quality was rather good, almost every bit as good as your main camera with the flooffy mic ;-)

the technology is crazy good!
The stabilization is very, very good.
Rear facing is class, Mr C!
Tony with the low key flex getting his BMW badge in the shot a few times. OK Tony we see out here shining!
Quality filing mate, really liked the rear seat mount and chainstay mount, made for interesting viewing when riding in tandem. Keep up the good work!
This just might be the best bikepacking camera
Selfie stick shots were awesome 👌🏻
Glad to see an Attacus jersey without the logo patch. Big improvement imo. Saddle 360degree camera was tops.
Ooo the fork shots are GREAT !
Awesome vid! Great testing with these 360 cameras. Thanks to Tony and you.
New cameras are sweeeeeeeet! Getting caught up on vids…. Keep up the good work!

Under the seat post shooting from behind (that’s what she said) is very cool
Just got a go2 and these were some super great ideas thanks!
Sic shots dude. Amazing technology, thanks for doing all the research.

some awesome shots, I cant wait to see them being utilised more! great episode

That frame mounted segment from 4:10 is fiya! That selfie stick looks just wrong when you film Tony from the side :O btw, i dig the DnB soundtrack
Ace footage, selfie cam cool but my favs are under saddle ass cam and downtube for sure
Agreed. That pair long would work very well imo. 👍
welcome
Can we install an external microphone or bluetooth for the microphone
Thanks
Francis...all the angles were cool...different to be sure .Audio was good as well, and Tony is just a bit daft , eh? Thanks for sharing !

Wheelie 360 shots were awesome… new camera’s look great. To be honest Francis I’ll watch your content on a Betamax recording if I have to.. lol
The rear views were weird but epic at the same tim e. Some cracking footage
Really awesome footage. Even by your usual amazing standards!!
been meaning to try the stick below the seat, usually just run GoPro 9 there but the angle recording the front rider is sick
Very nice tips! I'll try some!

@@Cade_Media Cool! So it's always clear when I am actually starting a recording (& stopping it)
Need to get my hands on this unit than. Big Thanks!!
awesome video!! Enjoyed every second of it!
Thanks for this video.
My big question is, HOW SECURE ARE THE CAMERAS in those mount positions, especially when you are blasting through rocky trails?
the only camera that came off was the heavier one at the end on the end of a selfie stick - the stick broke in half from all the bouncing.
The go 2 was very secure though even just with the magnet, I suppose because it's light
@@Cade_Media thanks for your reply!!

Great video thanks, how do you find the app to use with the Go2 after doing the recording?
Hellooo, tiny tiny man with tiny tiny camera ;-)
It’s not the size of the camera ………..it’s how you use it 😳😂😂
Amazing video, really good fun. I think I am sold on this camera. Only worry is that the battery only lasts about 30 mins and you’d need to put the camera into the case for 20 mins for recharging. How do you plan your shooting around that?

Thanks! Is it safe enough, without any secure wire?
Is it possible to secure it? How?
Great video guys!
These wee tic tacs are impressive
Any thoughts around using these as a riding “dash cam” ?
I have one. The very wide angle and stabilization would be good as a dash cam. The microphone is marginal. The total recording time is around 30 minutes, and by default it shuts off at 15 minutes recording due to heat. It gets quite hot while operating and this would probably be worse on a car dash. Great video footage - brilliant!
Great shots!
How did you manag with the reduced battery life in Go 2? Did you recharge it everytime you stop? Does it do ok for these short takes?
I just carry it charging in its pack while I'm riding the boring bits in-between and then take it out ready for the trails !
New camera is very nice!
Just what I needed on my first ride I only saw my arms and handlebar 😅
Great content thanks guys!
hi, is the magnet strong enough to hold when you jump your bike?
Loved the shots near the wheels…
Would you recommend the Go2 or the One X2 more? If you had to choose one?
Go2 is cheaper, much smaller and easier to mount anywhere (wheels!), but has only max. 150 field of view, while X2 has full 360 field of view so you you can make two shots from one video (eg. front and back simultanously).
@@flyingJoe yea I think I prefer the option of a an actual 360 cam, especially when I have a regular action cam already
Clever work. It’s the variety of angles that makes for an entertaining vid. What’s the Insta editing software like compared to DJI?
For this I only used the insta360 software to choose how wide the image was, then used premiere pro to edit the video from there
Awesome footage!
Hi how’s it going watching from broomfield Colorado
Brilliant filming and all angles brought something different. Very boring but I wish Grand Tour road racing had some on bike footage. Although how would they cope carrying an extra 26g
They do, look at Velon on RUclips. BTW Go pro's are over 100g.
Awesome footage.
Hum .. interesting! Our tracks look way more rough than tours but I may give it a try (we have footage 🤪). Everything can be fixed with duct tape and ty rap over minus 30 degrees 😂
Sweet shots! How was the magnets, did it come of at any point?
nope!
We did destroy the selfie stick though...
I strongly recommend not relying on the magnetic mount long term. They do sell an action cam mount.
Hi I have a go 2 and I'm filming enduro but my footage looks really bad, how did you do?
Tony Fawcett - Caravan Dreams
Retirement dream is to sell the house and move into a static somewhere nice. My wife is not so keen. LOL
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett ive heard all the RUclipsrs move house for content nowadays Tony so it's deffo on the cards for you 🤣

yes indeed!
Been thinking about getting one of those cameras vs a GoPro… it looks more versatile but??? Any noticeable limitations??
depends what you want from it - it's smaller and more discreet, but doesn't have a screen so you can't see what you're shooting.
Battery life is short but you can charge it up in the little case it comes with
@@Cade_Media Gotcha! Thank you sir!
That auto horizon had me thinking I was about to get a mouth full of tire ;p
Interesting camera, thinking of getting one for my spaniel , GoPro is I bit too big on her.
Two Wheel Cruise and Path Less Peddled both had the idea of vlogs about the same camera as you did . Great minds obviously think alike or do they 💰🤔
i like how you didn't use their bike mounts to show another way to mount the go2
How long the battery last?
Are you still running Hutchison kraken ? . nice vid Francis as always
yeah! Just the standard version in 2.3 buy might try the hardshell for stage races
@@Cade_Media which have you found to be better 2.1 s or 2.3 s

you didn't talk about the pendant result, did it fall off?
nope!
And the battery length?
