Congrats, you have what l believe was the first S-VHS deck National/Panasonic released in my part of the world. They used the same chassis as the D80 VHS deck. Not that many of either models around. I regret selling mine years ago.
These PSU’s get really hot. The boards used to brown and the tracks on the pcb would loosen making cap replacements challenging. Best kept out of cabinets or stacked with other hot gear. Lots of boards in them but they were pretty reliable. PSU aside.
Looks like a really nice VCR, but what a nightmare to work on. Just minutes before I saw that you'd posted this new video I was looking at a VCR that's advertised in a local Cash Converters store here in Perth AU, and it's coincidently a Panasonic NV-FS1. They want $249 for it but no remote.

Ah, good to know thanks. Probably explains why the electronics are a bit of a mess.
Well, very interesting and unusual components layout. Most of Panasonics/National VCRs from that time have power supply unit in the top left corner..
Some of the G series are like this. NV-G20 and similar models.

@@michaell2120 Agree. I even considered an option to order modern replica of the pcb made of FR4 instead of shitty getinax..

It is a nice one. Until something in the electronics needs replacing.
I see Japanese professional wrestling is every bit as fake and silly as American professional wrestling.
Must be a winning formula.
