We are sooo thrilled with the results! It's been 12 months since we painted (obviously the bus build vids got a little delayed) and we've since met a few people who painted vehicles with the same product with great long-term results! Gertie bus has been a real head-turner when we pull into camp, we are considering painting our everyday car with it too 😂
1 year later and it's brilliant!! We've since met multiple people who have 4x4s with the same paint as well as other motor homes. They are all thrilled too! Before we took the leap we did consult with an automotive paint specialist and made sure we followed all the correct steps to guarantee a long-lasting result. We are most likely going to do the same with our everyday car now 🤣
Hi mate, sorry it’s taken so long to reply, have you painted already? I was going to check our records cos to be honest I couldn’t remember but I checked and we started with 8ltrs (6 green 2 black) and purchased 1 more of each. We did the nooks and crannies/cut in, using cans first. Hope this helps
Heya! Ummmm, are you referring to the paint job or the entire build? Ok, so our entire paint costs were $2004.70 This includes prep supplies, auto paint for bus and any interior paint required. Our overall spend including bus purchase, repairs, build, onroading, you name it, was $50004.62 to be precise 😂 We will get our butt into gear and share a more detailed vid on the finished bus with expenses, actually we should really get it done before the end of the year 🤞🏻we have to now that I’ve said it here 🤣
Great video! Looking to do something similar with our coaster! How many litres did you need to do the whole thing? Im looking into getting the 8Litre pack
Hey there! Thanks ☺️ the raptor paint has definitely been a head turner and convo starter in our first 18 months on the road! Ooft, brains a bit foggy, can definitely check our records to confirm but I feel like we started with 8 litres, maybe 6 coloured 2black and maybe got 1-2 more. But we did have a little leftover and painted a few random things for fun, like outdoor furniture 😂 please DM on IG if you’d like more info and good luck with yours 😉
@@GinandRing Cheers legends! Hopefully will see ya out on the tracks ay! Keep an eye out for a double decker butter coloured raptor coated coaster haha keep up the great content
Hey mate, yeh we figured it out after finishing the body work and paint 😄 We converted the door to outward opening using the bifold door. At first it was a little overwhelming thinking we’d have to purchase an expensive prefab motorhome door we hadn’t budgeted for but once we did some research and realised we could modify the existing door, we simply did that. We’ve now been living in the bus since May 2022 and super stoked on the outcome. We hope to film a “bus tour” type vid at some point to show what we love, things we’ve changed or we might do different if we build a third time… are you building or do you already have a van/bus??
Hey mate, 187cm. We originally planned to line the ceiling with shiplap but realised it would reduce the height just so that I'd be slightly crouched. So we went bold and used 3mm mdf which flexed into the bus shape for a firm fit. Eventually we'll do a follow up vid on the complete fit out. We've been living in the bus for 14 months now and the ceiling is often a talking point. Just need to be 100% certain theres no leaks and the mdf is fine. As for height any taller and you might struggle.
Oh wow that’s a first. Hope it holds up well

I've just got myself a 92 Coaster with a 1hz motor.
I'm looking forward to some adventures
Woohoo!!! The best, you’ll have a grand time 💛
Let me know how well that liner holds up, some of the DIY stuffs works pretty good and some don’t!!

Hey there, how much paint did it take to cover the whole outside of the bus? Love your series of videos - helping me heaps with my 1997 conversation 😊

How much did you guys spent in material?

YASSSS!!!!! Keeping an eye out for sure!! When do you hope to be on the road?
@@GinandRing still got the inside to build so most likely half way through this year
How’s your build going? Almost road time?
Hey guys, do you know you can't use bifold doors on a motorhome? You have to have a single, outward opening door.
