iPhone 5s with Moondog Labs Anamorphic Lens Adapter

My very first test with the anamorphic lens adapter by Moondog Labs and the Apple iPhone 5s. This very roughly edited film should give you an idea what to expect. I was especially interested in the bokeh-or background blur-which can be achieved with the adapter. It looks quite similar to the blur of real cinema lenses, but with the iPhone it’s very hard to achieve a shallow depth of field due to the small sensor. Still, I’m quite satisfied with this adapter and will film more.
I didn’t do any editing in the clips itself and just uploaded and combined them with the RUclips editor. For shooting, I used the Filmic Pro app for the iPhone, which has a dedicated mode for the Moondog adapter so that you don’t have to de-squeeze your clips in post.
