KEXP is where I’ve listened to the best live versions I have ever heard. This song is something else, “made my mess, feel things I cannot express” really resonates with me. Definitely shed a tear or two listening to this one here.
7 years ago? God, where the hell is time going? My life is such a waste. I still haven't got the dog, wife or house with a garden I see when I listen to this song. Fuck. So stupid and such a waste of time. Spent in concrete city hell. Thank you Alex. God bless you, your wife and child.
this is incredible! i listen to this song as if bobby was the demons inside alex (or a character he wanted to create) that make him depressed. that's sad but it's a nice story anyways. alex g is a great musician!!
Great song regardless, but would really love a live performance that contains the violins. Even if acoustic. Such a great song lyrically though so really any version sounds good.
Someone up there nailed it pretty good I think. Bobby is the dark character that follows Alex around(depression/fear/etc.) and Alex is saying he’s going to drop Bobby for someone he loves
@@janattaaya i mean no one says it can’t be but the original song has female vocals singing with him and a lot of alex’s songs are either sung by a woman or perspective is from a woman.
@@xo.42 fantastic cover no doubt. Wolf Alice is a great band. I’m mainly into metal/death metal etc but I very much enjoy wolf Alice and their cover of this rocks
I really want to like Alex G's performance on KEXP because the album was mostly really good but it's so lacking without the vocal harmonies and broader instrumentation
Point of what? I know some songs have intentionally out of tune parts to sound relaxed or wild, but he doesn't sing off key on the record and here it just sounds bad.

Absolutely! Whoever mixes it does a PHENOMENAL job
Thanks Wolf Alice😀
Wolf Alice ❤
KEXP has been my lifeline to great musical performances these past two years. Thank you. This one is a classic performance.
I enjoy this more than the actual recording of the song....
not gonna lie same but its close
Me too
I'm adopted this is about me why do you like it? Want to elaborate.

That was a weird little rollercoaster
That's some solid playin' from the lead guitar there.
This is freakin great
This guitartune. I love it so much
This feels like love should feel
Here from Wolf Alice... Happy I am.
Alex G is our Bob Dylan

That makes so much sense! Leaving him for his love interest could mean trying to get rid of the demons, in a way!!
holy crap that changes everything, thats amazing. like bob from twin peaks even
Oh wow, crazy interpretation. I just thought he was bi lmao
I've never thought about it that way
I’m fairly certain this is actually spot on. He mentioned as much in an interview
the guitarist.... is wearing a hop along shirt :O I am so pleased
Cool!
i really enjoy this

Yeah this is it. Nailed it.
this song
who else b singing the harmonies
👌🏻
Merci de l'avoir fait découvrir dans TU TUBES!
love
So cool
the bass player is effing hot imo
Is this on any streaming services? The live version
Good performance, but this song really isn't the same without the vocal harmony.
I took it as a chance to sing the harmony myself
@@unwashedgrapes8605 yes!!!! completely hehe
i agree, especially because the harmony is more of a melody
Wolf Alice brought me here
Me, too! I saw it was a cover, so I tried to find the original. Both great performances.
anyone got a tab for the slide part
I do, I do, I tell you whut
Nice
I’m confused about the lyrics
Someone up there nailed it pretty good I think. Bobby is the dark character that follows Alex around(depression/fear/etc.) and Alex is saying he’s going to drop Bobby for someone he loves
Yeah it couldnt POSSIBLY be about a bisexual person 😂
@@janattaaya i mean no one says it can’t be but the original song has female vocals singing with him and a lot of alex’s songs are either sung by a woman or perspective is from a woman.
This is like watching Kyle Gas singing backup parts without Jack Black.
This song NEEDS the other harmony and violin.
check the wolf alice cover

I disagree. Much better live without the violin and the chick

nobodythe7th the live versions of Bobby and Proud stand out to me but the other two songs were lacking in energy.
i like it for the reasons u dislike
Agree, this is the only song of his I really like and this version doesn’t cut it.

I miss the old drummer
This guys leaning tower of drums got me all kinds of fucked up
It's different though, ain't it? Seems to be what matters. Not like he's likely to play anything difficult.
Reminds me of Bob Dylan
He's out of tune
That's the whole point
Point of what? I know some songs have intentionally out of tune parts to sound relaxed or wild, but he doesn't sing off key on the record and here it just sounds bad.
@@ivan5083 what and you expect it to sound like the record? It isn't even that bad
He sounds good even if you dint think he sounds good he's a genius no need to hate
