This must have been a repo flight, because I don't know how I'd feel if my pilot was filming a youtube video while I'm paying him to be 100% focused on flying.. I do love his videos though.
Well Steveo, I can honestly say watching your videos will never ever get old for me. It is always exciting to watch you at what you do effortlessly, Safe flights and continue to have the time of your life.
I caught the recent recording from VASAviation of your landing gear issue recently. Glad all worked out and you got down safely. It’s certainly not something anyone looks forward to experiencing but it was clear that you handled it really well and stayed calm and focused the whole way through.
Went ro ERAU many years ago for my aerospace engineer degree. I remeber when there was nothing around the airport except for the speedway and Riddle. Still remember them installing the Wright Flyer statue and the old library. Things have changed.
Wish videos like this were around back in the early 2000s when I first started to fly. You are not only inspiring them but you are also teaching the next generation of aviators. Love the vids. Thanks for all you do. Stay safe up there.
Steveo, thanks for taking me back, albeit virtually, to my alma mater, ERAU. The campus has changed immensely from when I was there (80-84), but the memories are still the same.
Hey Steveo, I've been watching you since approximately 2016 when you started your vlogs. I've always enjoyed watching you and for a while I lived vicariously through your videos and a few other youtube contributors. That experience with you helped to fuel my passion as an aviator. Since then, I've gone from my PPL all the way to my ATPL with a Embraer 170/190 type rating. Although, I've gone a different route as far as my professional career, your contribution to aviation was insurmoutable in helping me stay motivated. In addition, I listened to your landing gear emergency on VasAviation and very much appreciate your professionalism and airmanship. I've had some issues in my flying career, along with earning my type rating. I can very much appreciate what you do and how you handle your self. Blue skies Steveo, hope to catch you in person one day!
I have been watching your channel for about 3 years now. I was always intimidated by the thought of being able to handle the radio traffic. I must say after watching you over the years it is rather easy.
Steveo, two things. This was another great video you put out as always, I love watching them. Just wanted to commend you on how calmly you handled that emergency you had recently. Another job well done. You are by far one of the best aviation channels out there if not the best. Showing us all that the more you practice the easier things can be bc it will be second nature. Cant wait for the next video.
Shout out to the Steve's great boss. Thank you for letting him video these flights. Nice bumpy flight - nothing like flying in the summer / warm months. Hope everyone is doing well - take care - be safe.
I have to comment as a an English guy who loves flying and motor racing that brought back some memories for me as I did my commercial at Daytona some 22 years ago there, cheers for that.
Thanks for another great video from my aerial playground in the late 1980`s. Went to flight school in Daytona and finished my CPL and Flight instructor education in lovely Florida and Daytona . Very nice for a guy coming from snowy Norway. Keep up making those great videos- Thanks.
Congrats! As I'm currently sitting in Zurich, you managed to get me homesick for the shores of Daytona! Many years ago I lived right across from the speedway. Now St Augustine is my home away from home! Cheers
Steve-O glad to see a new vid is up! Also, you handled that gear extension issue (St. Pete) like a true seasoned professional, which you obviously are!
I love your videos, Steven. I know that you are busy, but I hope you continue to put out videos, the more the better! Your videos are absolutely my favorite thing to watch on youtube!:)
The autopilot disconnect during rougher bumps is a common thing with that model of autopilot. Its not just your airplane. It is common in PC-12s as well, but really anything with that autopilot.
Love your stuff. Today I had a deja vu moment when at 15:09 the controller is heard calling 2959U. 59U was one of the Warriors I took my PPL training in way back when. It was based at KBVY then. Nice hearing the numbers again!
Thanks Steve, i use your videos to refresh my memory if i haven't flown my TBM for a while N559CA. the more you talk about the sequences the better i like it!
Thanks for filming this flight. I am from the Lakeland area and enlisted in the Air Force about a year and a half ago. Being stationed in DC and getting this little taste of home was nice. Really appreciated.
I have two boys coming along to Oshkosh. They are both plane crazy. My 4 year old is autistic. He runs out the house and screams at the planes when they fly by. We went to 3MY in Peoria to watch the planes. A plane landed and they let us out on the tarmac. It was a very small plane cant even remember what it was...almost a kit plane. No parking brake even- we had to push it to the fence. For him to touch it and get that feedback of pushing a plane back was huge. He is now hooked and sold out to planes! Hopefully we can find you and say Hi at Oshkosh. Been watching for years.
Steveo, your videography and video editing skills have reached a whole new level of greatness. I really enjoyed the intro, especially your use of time lapse.
That’s a new hiding place! Love the start-up and flow detail. Great video SteveO! And thanks for showing the 850 Mode switch, that was me on IG! All those Embry-Riddle students are looking at all the planes going by and saying…someday that’ll be me!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I did many landings there at DAB in a little 150, on the short runway, back in the late 1970s. That was long enough ago that 7/25 was 6/24. Some of the best years of my life. There was a little cemetery on a hill, off the departure end of 6L back then, and we would go there some evenings of the winter months because Eastern Airlines would bring in their L1011 during those months when the air was cooler. The runway was only 7500' in those days and when the L1011 departed, it seemed like we could reach up from the cemetery and touch the rotating beacon on the L1011's belly.
The cemeteries are still there. 3 of them in fact. I ran alot while i was at ERAU, one time i decided to explore a new route, but I started the run abit late. So i ended up run on a completely deserted road with cemeteries on either side. I still remember how the sprinklers were going off and some water was hitting the metal fence. I’ve never ran faster at the tail end of a 11 mile run, and never happier to see a plane on approach to 25R, guiding me back to the land of the living haha
I’ve been to Daytona Beach a lot of times! I have a condo there ! I’ve been to the Daytona 500 , Pepsi 400, and the Rolex24 at the Daytona International Speedway and was able to take a tour of the track it’s pretty cool! Also only a handful of us can say we have sat on the backstretch for a race before they tore it down! Love the videos Steveo!
The excitement at "three green" feels like foreshadowing of the VAS video (assuming this recording predated VAS). Another great video, thanks for bringing us along!
Reminds me of my flight instructing days in Daytona. Always busy there! Fun fact, at about 28:47, that Skyhawk N416WR and I have logged over a couple hundred hours together. What fond memories! Great show as always Steveo!
You always have the smoothest landings. Yep, some days it very bumpy no matter what altitude you're flying. Always a great flight with you flying. Thanks for posting.
As a private pilot studying to get my IFR license it amazes me how you handle your crossed control so smoothly! Definitely something that comes with years of practice! Cheers from Uruguay SteveO, great fan of your videos! Keep up!
As an Aerospace Engineering graduate from ERAU, I tip my hat to you. Thanks for the mention. Too bad I didn't go into aircraft; rockets are more my speed.
THNX STEVEO! This one was AWESOME!!! A most beautiful Deja Vu seeing my beautiful and radically changed Alma Matter ,for the first since my graduation in '78. And The Speedway!!! 🙌☮🤘🙏💫time
Great video. My son attends school there, and sent me this video. He was excited to see you land at DAB but sad that he’s on summer break. He missed meeting you at Sun-n-Fun this year because he was studying for his instrument check. You’re a great inspiration to young flyers (obvious with all the over the radio shoutouts) and I hope he can meet you next year. Fly safe.
Throwback to the days when I used to fly from KSUA. Steveo had landed at home airport, gave him a shoutout on 121.7 G frequency. You make really good videos Captain, it's always fun to watch em. You are a true Inspiration to many pilots out there. I wish you all the best Sir, also I hope you hit 1M subs soon
You help me so much with my IFR training, I can't thank you enough and I love your videos. Thanks to your boss for allowing you to film and share with us all.
Welcome to DAB. I have a son at Riddle, 6 mos from graduation trying to figure goals and steps. If you ever fly up to KFIN, we'd love to pick your brain and boiled shrimp are on us at Highjackers. We love the channel and Supercross as well. #3
Been to that airport many times as I flew out of Deland just to the west. Doing instrument flight training and check rides there is extremely hectic. At one time I had my own NOTAM at KDAB as I was working at the speedway during the renovation, I was operating a crane and my tip height was right at 350ft AGL so it was right inside the traffic pattern.
So you took a venture to the beach side of town. Down famous main street onto the beach. And the good ol ride on the sand. Hopefully you had a good time. The approach in over 95 is something if I'm lucky to be driving I happen to catch a plane passing over. But if you're up between 6 and 7 in the morn and in a quiet area you can hear the first flight smoking out of DAB! The best spot to stay at on the beach side would be the hard rock hotel.
I wonder how many of those student pilots decided to take up flying due to your YT videos.... it must be a thrill for them to see you coast past as they're waiting for their turn at their holding points at KDAB. :)
I thought I saw a tbh 850 flying into DAB a while ago. Figured there was such a small chance it was you so I didn’t get my hopes up but now I know it was. Pretty cool
loved the erau footage at the end of the video! fall class of 2019 :) man i miss my school and daytona! miss it so much that i’m gonna fly my cherokee 6/300 into it next week with a couple of friends:)
Thanks to Steveo’s boss for letting him film the flights. One of the best aviation channels.
Bravo!
Absolutely !!!
*one of the best aviation bosses 😉
I guess not so many people can say that about their boss. Steveo really is my favorite pilot here on RUclips. 😊👍
This must have been a repo flight, because I don't know how I'd feel if my pilot was filming a youtube video while I'm paying him to be 100% focused on flying.. I do love his videos though.
Dear Mr. Steveo’s boss,
It’s about time you upgrade his plane. His content is out of this world. Thanks.
-The aviation universe
He opens and closes the hatch twice, just so we get to watch... Appreciate the quality flying and great content!
Sometimes I feel like I'm watching the Bob Ross of aviation....there's a happy little cloud and we are going to deviate 10...very relaxing to watch.

Love the Embry Riddle shout out! Keep up the good work on these videos Steve O!
Always a great day when you drag out the 850. We miss you Reggie.
Been watching this dude since 2016...
Best job on the planet....
Kicking myself in the teeth for not finishing my flight training.

Love the Eli Tomac shoutout in there! He's my favorite rider as well.
I agree! Flying is completely calming for the soul. ✈️
Afternoon Cb's keep life interesting in FL as well as AZ. As an Embry-Riddle alum I smiled at the shout out. Nicely done.
