Hi mark. Looks real good mate ,love the symmetrie of the scape. Nice wood and rocks .not seen that rock before...wait for the update cheers and greets theo 👌👍😉🤛🥃
Wow,I love this Geordie, the second and final stone arrangement looks awsome pal,I love everything about this, very clever with initial media setup, can't wait for the flood mate!..👌✌️👍
Hiya mate ill be ordering my juwel 240 soon and ill be using your videos for help..last time i owned aquariums it was under gravel filters and gravel 30 years ago haha.. you dont happen to have a list of all what you used in the first half of the vid of all the substrate and nutrients you used and the amounts please 🙏thanks
Found out about your channel today from the guys at East Lothian Aquatics near Edinburgh. Briliant videos, spent this eve watching. I am thinking of starting a 240L myself. What setup do you have for Rio is it the default? Interested in lights and filtration especially. I saw in one videos with a working setup you have the default filtration and another internal one on the other side. Lastly, I’m deciding between Fluval Roma, Juwel Rio and AquaOne OakStyle Urban Collection. Any advice? I would go for Juwel after seeing your videos. Thank you very much for the content, really nice
Hi there, yeah, I met Phil and his partner last year, great couple. We had a blast. I would recommend watching my Juwel Rio playlist, and hopefully, this will help. I would favour the Juwel over the others you mentioned. These days I use nothing but external canister filters on the Juwel's. Oase Biomaster thermo 360's, awesome filters. I remove the juwel filter housing to make more room inside the tank (there's a video on how I do that too)
@@GEORDIESCAPER thank you for your answer. Yes, will definitely watch all Juwel videos and some others i found really informative for what i am aiming to do. It’s a pleasure to watch your videos. After I’ve seen some of them I actually decided on the Juwel Rio 240 which we ordered today. I will try your no co2 setup see how it goes. Thank you again and keep up the amazing work you do.
I am thinking of starting with the Juwel Rio 240. Have had an aquarium decades ago. However, the only available place is behind the corner sofa (the short side) which looks like a good place to me. Problem is that it will be more or less in the middle of the room. therefore I would prefer an external filter and besides hoses etc. should be "limited" as much as possible. And what about the decoration? It has to be a kind of "see through". Do you havy any tips for me?
@roadrunnerruud61 I'll have a think and get back to you after the weekend, probably best by email. Drop me an email next week sometime, and I'll help you out. geordiescaper@gmail.com
There is one thing I don t get. Juwel are using 6 mm glass even for the bottom on all aquariums. I just do not have the courage to buy a 240 l juwel, not to mention a 400 l one with a 6 mm bottom. This is crazy. And it s a shame because I like everything else about Juwel when comparing with other brands.
Because the silicone work is so thick and it's braced, I'm guessing that's how they get away with 6mm. I don't mind juwel aquariums but I'm still a big fan of low iron, minimal silicone, braceless aquariums.
This man is amazing have had the privilege of meeting him will definitely use you for inspiration on my rio 300
Thanks Liam, appreciate it mate👍
Very cool! I really like the large wood in the front!
Thankyou😊👍
Caint wait for the update!
Cheers Matt, let things settle a little and I'll get one straight up👍👍
Looks great. Loving that wood. Can never find pieces like that. 👍
Thank-you, I think it's fave wood at the minute.

Hi mark , what did you use between the lava soil and the planted substrate ? Not the flourish tabs by the way
I think it was some old substrate from another setup (mix of volcanic gravel and Seachem's Aquavitro Aquasolum). I'd recently stripped another scape.
@@GEORDIESCAPER cheers mark , just went with the lava substrate and aquavitro , love your scapes , keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻

Look forward to seeing how this grows in, are you keeping the fish south American themed too?
I am yes, fish I've always wanted. As soon as I know I get my hands on them I'll do a video.

Do you mean it will be acting as a room divider, separating wall in a way, viewable from 3-4 sides?
@@GEORDIESCAPER yep, that's exactly what I mean.
