Flying from Los Angeles, CA (LAX) to London, UK (LHR)
Flying out of Los Angeles afternoon departure with British Airways. This is leg 1 of our trip to Amsterdam, Netherlands. Short connection in London Heathrow. Quick 1hr flight to go to my final destination.
We arrive at Los Angeles International Airport. Departing out of Terminal B (Tom Bradley Int'l). We arrive early enough to take advantage of Chase Sapphire Reserve card which includes complimentary access to 1000+ Lounges in airports across the globe. Baggage drop was a breeze as we had checked in online and security took less than 20mins to go through. We went straight to the Korean Airlines Lounge at Tom Bradley while we waited for our time to board.
The lounge offered mostly finger foods and snacks, I was expecting a more filling menu but It does the job. Beer, wine and drinks are complementary with your entrance and it’s a self-serve bar.
Unfortunately, we were one of the last groups to board So I was unable to have good footage of the empty cabin. Our seats were actually very comfortable, the seats hugged your back, like a bucket seat. It was better than I expected for economy class. The only downside was that the person in front of me either broke their recline or unlatched the last stop and reclined 45 degrees into my face... Unfortunately, I had to live with that for 6hrs of the flight.
Overall the flight was a very pleasant experience, the food was ok and the service was on par with what I was expecting from British Airways. Flying the 747 is unique in its own way, I say it's one of my favorite aircrafts to fly in. It is incredible smooth and you are being part of history.
Due to a really strong tail wind, we arrived one full hour earlier than scheduled. We now had 2hrs30mins to catch our connecting flight to Amsterdam. Please stay tuned for leg 2 of this trip, London-Amsterdam on British Airways.
