War at Fort Pocahontas Virginia

This weekend I found myself in the middle of a war! Actually it was a reenactment of a Civil War battle at Fort Pocahontas Virginia. This was a battle in which the Northern defenders were made up of mostly colored troops. Eventually the North prevailed over their Confederate opponents. Since the Civil War the contributions of blacks and women during the war have been pushed aside, hopefully we can bring them forward to their proper place in history.
