Yep, I asked him on this earlier in the comments, and he said his next two videos are the invasion of Kentucky up to the capture of Frankfort, and then one focusing on Perryville itself.
If Mcclellan actually focused his generals(Mansfield, Summer, Hooker) on the corn field and Sunken road then they could have completely defeated the Confederates. The problem with the battle overall has to be Burnsides failure to move up to take the bridge in the first place. Also Mcclellan failing to bring up reinforcements in the right area like the center or on the left to ford across the water to take the bridge long before AP Hill took the field.
Thats the problem, McClellan did not really have a plan, he didnt enforce his plan with all his officers, and was worried about Lee's phantom brigades hiding behind every hill.
@@WarhawkYT That and Burnside did not figure how important it was for him as a rear guard unit to trap the Confederates on the other side of the river. If Burnside's and Hooker's attacks were timed for the same time it would be different results.
Let‘s not forget Franklin, too. He wasn’t present for the battle, but his mission was definitely crucial to what McClellan was doing, and his failure to push forward probably hampered his own side badly.

Even better than I anticipated, can't wait for the next one.
Glad to hear that kid!
The battle that is (partially) famous for being the divergence point of Harry Turtledove's TL-191/Southern Victory series.
Lesss goooo WH is so back!
Excellent video. It would seem McClellan only need to have ordered burnside forward earlier, and it would have been check mate.
It’s amazing to me the number of Generals KIA in such battles. It seems very different from today.
Hell yea been exited for this one!
here it is Zac!
Burnside failing to get across the creek meant Lee wasn't pressured hard enough and was free to use interior lines
The 1st Minnesota Regiment on Day#1 at Gettysburg also suffered 82% casualties like The 1st Texas Regiment at Sharpsburg
My great great grandfather fought at the battle of antitam and survived he died later from no shoes in the snow hypothermia
Yessir!! Perryville next ?!
Perryville campaign first
@@WarhawkYT God Bless You ! 🫶🏾
@@WarhawkYT Are you doing the whole campaign all in one go, or break it out into different battles? It was a big campaign, and Richmond (KY) and Munfordville (which actually is in progress as Antietam unfolds) probably deserve their own videos at the least.
@@thomasrinschler6783 the video will lead up to Perryville. So it will cover Bragg taking over all the way to him taking Frankfort KY
@@WarhawkYT Sounds good!
Hell yeah war of rights advertisement
Keep up the great stuff!!
We will!
I only recently found your channel so ive currently only watched till Shiloh so itll be a while before I catch up to this but one thing I wanted to say is when I tried to find civil war videos I was looking for videos just like yours but your videos don't pop up when you look up American Civil War videos I had to like search and hunt to find your series for me it wasnt even in the first page when I type in American Civil War documentaries maybe if you typed in a specific battle it would pop up better. But I just wanted to say the ACW at the start confused me slightly when I first glanced at it while scrolling throw it and I think that could also affect the algorithm not having the full "American Civil War" in the title. Idk I just wanted to say my opinion because I can see the immense dedication and research that's gone into it. Epic history recently re changed all their thumbnails and a lot of titles which re kicked them into the algorithm idk if you've thought of doing something similar but it might help, these videos just deserve to have a lot more views. Thank you for your work
Thank you dude, I didnt realize this at all.
@@WarhawkYT I'm glad I could help for real once I started going through your videos and saw how many there were I was genuinely shocked at it not having more views I've watched history videos for years and your channel hasn't popped through my feed somehow. I know key words and hashtags are huge for the algorithm some people even name the video file that they upload to RUclips a bunch of key words and because the algorithm will look at the file name to get more info ittl take that into account def look into it its basically free marketing also I loved the Texas Revolution video thank you for the hard work
Beautiful as always!
Thank you! Cheers!
Saris doing a WoR ad is truly an event i did not see coming
@@Strength-b1z we live in an alternate universe and nothing been the same since 2020
Can't wait for it! :D
Thanks For this! Love your content ❤❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome!
if only the cofederates had destroyed the bridge, in fact why couldn't they? honest question
Burnside bridge? The federals would just use the fords to cross, Antietam is only a creek and is shallow in a lot of places
Battle of Perryville, Ky is comin up Oct. 8, 1862
Yep, I asked him on this earlier in the comments, and he said his next two videos are the invasion of Kentucky up to the capture of Frankfort, and then one focusing on Perryville itself.
@@thomasrinschler6783 didn’t know however thanks for lettin me know
If Mcclellan actually focused his generals(Mansfield, Summer, Hooker) on the corn field and Sunken road then they could have completely defeated the Confederates.
@@the1magageneral323Mac's original plan was for both attacks to be timed
But burnsides just wasted the entire morning doing nothing
Let‘s not forget Franklin, too. He wasn’t present for the battle, but his mission was definitely crucial to what McClellan was doing, and his failure to push forward probably hampered his own side badly.
@@raylast3873 What mission was that and how does that have to do with the many flaws in the battleplan?
