- Another LED H8 bulbs to test with halo rings (angel eyes) in BMW 1-Series E87. This time I believe that those are OK. Brightness is at the same level as the halogen H8 35W. Color is more pleasant, white is pretty close to the bi-xenon beam.
Those H8 LED bulbs did not cause an blown bulb error in my car BUT most likely previous owner recoded the car since I don't see any information about those bulbs being CAN-BUS ready.

Now you still needs to change the old fashioned indicators bulbs. 😉
I’ve already done it, using LED’s I’ve purchased on Ali. Notice that they are consuming 21 Watts to avoid problems with the computer.
This is probably the easiest install I've seen cause the bulb design is different and does not have all the junk other parts with it. Do these hold well with time, and are they brighter than the ones the car came with?
The ones that come standard on the car are yellow halogens
i have e87 2009 but i dont have like this yellow , this type of H8 is buying or i cant have angel eyes on my bmw ? any sugestion pls ?
If you have standard halogen lights then you don't have ring DRLs. You can retrofit xenon lights (expensive and complicated) or find some aftermarket lights with rings (not as pretty as BMW OEM).
You have Halogen lights. You are better to buy Depo V2 angel eye headlights. They are plug & play and are a lot cheaper then retrofitting xenon. I actually think the white Depo V2 angel eye rings look brighter and more full then BMW OEM's

I went back to halogens and sold the car 2 years ago. Can't tell if there's anything better (not at this price point anyway) but I was happy with those ones.

I just bought Silvania LED h8, I get lamp malfunction error code but I can code that out. They are bright as hell for the angel eyes. Only problem is they flicker for like 8 seconds at the start
I have the same car do those rings on the lights come as standard I’ve never really noticed
What about bmw e87 2005 not facelift, are the bulbs for angel ayes same as on this model?

Do these use two bulbs per unit (one for each halo) or just one bulb per light unit ?

Ostatecznie wróciłem do halogenów. LEDy mają lepszą barwę, ale nie znalazłem żadnych, które by idealnie wypełniły oba ringi.

Should work in your E81 if you have DRL rings.
Those will produce error code but you can install load resistor or recode your car to disable bulb check.
Will these work in e92 setup prelci?

What was the socket type for E87? Because H4, H7 and H11 are available at seller. Also I confuse I will take error code when plug them
I believe it's H8.
I think the pre facelift model (2004-2007) uses H7 for the angel eyes. H8 for the newer E87's. Does this sound right?

I saw your previous video about a different led bulb which causes the outter rings to hardly light up. It looks like the bulb is positioned towards the inner light rings and uses optic to distribute light to outter rings. Why do you suppose this one is better? Do you think it has to do with the precise location of the light diodes? This one only has two diodes? Do you have to orient the 3 slots a certain way. I believe the slots are equilateral triangle so you could have the two diodes in different positions. Thanks in advance for reply. MEssage me directly if you wish. Thanks again.
LED location is better. Light hits the part that's responsible for the outer ring.
H8 bulb can be installed only in one way.

Ringi są zasilane w tym reflektorach żarówkami w5w w ilości 4 żarówki na ringa.
A i mam jeszcze takie pytanie:
Czy jak włożę te lampy i włączę ringi to nie spali mi sterownika switatel? Bo jedna żarówka w5w jest w oryginale a teraz będzie aż 8 na lampe

Niestety nie wiem jak jest to rozwiązane w lampach depo. Nie mam z nimi żadnego doświadczenia... Najlepiej pytać producenta, bo może w lampie zasilanie jest doprowadzone inaczej, a sam sygnał postojówek ze sterownika przełącza przekaźnik wewnątrz lampy. Ale najlepiej pytać producenta/dystrybutora/sprzedawcy.

Czy wymieniałeś kiedyś żarówki "ringów" na H8 z filtrem niebieskim, czy zmienilo to kolor ringów na biały?
Wolałem zostać przy zwykłym żółtym H8. Ringi mają różną jasność w zależności od funkcji (dzienne, pozycyjne). Przy niskiej jasności żarówka będzie i tak miała cieplejszą, bardziej pomarańczową barwę.

Będzie to zgodne z prawem?
Jeżeli dobrze pamiętam, to przepisy wymagają jedynie, aby żarówka miała homologację.
Oczywiście oprócz mijania i długich, gdzie homologacja klosza określa technologię świecenia.
karol kozlowski póki co nawet Osram czy Philips pisze, że tylko do użytku poza drogami.
Sprawdzał ktos te żarówki w ringach w BMW E90 lci?
A jak mam bieda edition po lifcie bez ksenonów to można jakoś ringi dołożyć ?. Jak rozebrać lampę ?
Rozebraną lampę będzie ciężko złożyć, aby nie straciła szczelności i nie parowała.
Wymiana lampy na bixenon z ringami też nie jest łatwa, bo trzeba dołożyć czujniki na wahaczach do samopoziomowania, zmienić włącznik świateł, dołożyć czujnik zmierzchu/deszczu, dołożyć brakujące wiązki, zakodować...
Można też założyć nieoryginalne lampy halogenowe z ringami, ale chyba nie warto, bo nie wyglądają one tak dobrze jak fabryczne.

I’m having the same problem you did with my current h8 bulbs not lighting up both angel eyes like it should
If the bulb is twisted slightly both rings will light up.

Wróciłem do halogenów, bo jednak bardziej podobała mi się różnica w barwie między ringiem a soczewką. Ale LEDy działały bez zarzutu.

Jeżeli chodzi o efekt fade-in i fade-out, to czasami było delikatnie widać skoki jasności.

Hi there, a month ago I installed a LED bulbs in my BMW series 1, and each time I started my car, the lights flashed two or three, I guess that was because the computer was sending same power to check if the bulb are working.
Are you be available to tell me if I will have the same problem with this type of bulbs?

The only 100% sure solution is to recode the car so the module does not check this circuit anymore.

There's BMW service tool called NCS-Expert but it's so complicated that I can hardly imagine that someone is actually using it professionally.
There are also devices like Carly for BMW which (i think) can disable the circuit check.

Nie dadzą rady, bo mają za dużo diod. W tych lampach najważniejsza jest precyzyjna optyka. Dioda musi znajdować się tam gdzie żarnik, żeby światło zostało dobrze rozprowadzone po wszystkich ringach.
Jak założysz, to sam zobaczysz, że będzie biło światło ze środka zamiast z obwodu.

Przy pełnym słońcu będą prawie nie widoczne, a kierowcy z naprzeciwka będą mrugać żeby włączyć światła. Uzyskałem ten sam efekt przy użyciu innych Led'ów ale to i tak jest za słabe światło.
Przy pełnym słońcu zwykłych H8 też nie widać.
Testowałem wcześniej inny model i jak na razie te wychodzą najlepiej.
U mnie jest jeszcze inaczej
Ciekawe co będzie przy pełnym słońcu.

Check you're socket from the bulb I called autozone for my info I have 2008 e60 and socket size is h7 so that should give you a hint
They have 3 sizes for these and says it's for motorcycle but socket fits also its 5 $ and u get like a 4 $off coupon for first time customers so like 2$ worth a try
