I am reading, "Uncle Tom's Cabin", for the first time and surprised at how much I am enjoying it. It's difficult at times, but so rich and involving. You feel like you are really there.

Don't feel bad for reading 'only' 20 books! You can only do what you can do. I read 100 books in 2022, but only 36 in 2021 and 18 in 2020, even less in prior years lol. I will say that in 2022 I really got into the cozy mystery genre so that is the main reason I read so many books. I did read some novels, but the majority were cozies. I also wasn't a fan of The Guest List (gave it 3⭐'s) and I tried getting into Tilly and the Bookwanderers but didn't make it very far before putting it down. I absolutely want to read The Great Divorce. It sounds really good - as does Life Together. You sounds like you DO have a fantastic community around you. That's such a blessing. Thanks for your Wrap Up. I look forward to seeing your content throughout 2023! 🙏🤗

100 books?! You’re amazing! 🤩 My reading preference changes throughout the year- I think based on the seasons- and the cozy seasons, when I usually read the cozy mysteries was my busiest, so I feel like I missed out haha! I’ll take any recommendations on your faves! Thank you so much for always being so encouraging and taking your time to watch my videos! 😁

Hey Taylor! My reading goal is currently 52 books for this year. I am also doing an independent study through Luke this year as I am a college student and don't have the time to go to a bible study. Hope you have a great year!

One a week?! That’s amazing! 😄 I remember the busy days of college! Great job finding a way to get in your time with God despite your busy schedule. Here’s to a new year filled with more Jesus! 🥳

Thanks for the book recs!! I’ve bought the Nevermoor series but haven’t read it yet. I have a goal to read more Christian books this year. I read The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe in December and loved every minute. I need to read all The Chronicles of Narnia now

That’s a great goal and one of mine too! I need to finish that series as well. I’ve heard only good things, and loved the books I’ve read so far. I’ve also been tempted to just fast track the the last one because my sister said it’s so beautiful it made her cry! She says the imagery of heaven is superb.

I think it's "Life Together" that I read some years ago at a Bible study. I don't remember the details now, but I remember it hit us all pretty hard. Thanks for the reminder. I need to look around and see if I still have it. I have got to get these shelves and (literally) piles of books under control!
As to the number of books, I do think we all put too much emphasis on numbers. I know I have been doing that since I began watching Booktube! I can understand why it's more of an issue for Booktubers because they need content. But, really, if you're just reading for numbers but you're not enjoying/being impacted by your reading, what's the point? Again, I have to keep telling myself this all the time because I've been falling into the same trap, even just as a Booktube viewer, not creator.

Thank you for this wisdom! I can definitely get in the rut of reading for numbers instead of pleasure/knowledge. I definitely think it comes from wanting to earn the title of “booktuber” haha. I love making videos and do want more books under my belt to talk about, but doesn’t want to do it at the expensive of the joy I find in reading for fun. I just recently bought Uncle Tom’s Cabin and want to read it this year, especially with the recent buzz it’s started to attract again.

OH that's it. We're going to have to revoke your booktube status. 🤣 Life happens and I love that your life is so full of joy. People could take lessons. 🤗 One of my goals this year is to memorize more of God's word, since it is our sword in the armour of God and not many Christians read the Bible let alone memorize. I'm hoping to get people inspired. I heard so many Christians go into the new year wanting to read the Bible, get deflated and stop in Leviticus. =( May you and your family have a blessed year. P.S. Could you please pray for my family to find a Bible enriching church? We've been looking for one since 2018 and the churches around us fall flat. Seriously weak. We're probably going to move next year and I have faith God will give us a place to fellowship when we move. =)

You are too funny 😂 thank you for your kind words and encouragement! I also want to make an effort to memorize scripture! I’m always in awe when my grandparents can rattle off the perfect verse for every occasion. Unfortunately, I usually just applaud them without making an effort to have the same word in my heart. My sister gave me a flip book to start writing verses in that I can carry around fairly easily with me to get started. Thank you for shari g your prayer request with me- I will definitely be praying! Finding a fitting church can be difficult, especially in the end times when more false prophets are going to enter the scene. I pray your family finds a home and a community that enhances your walk with Christ! In the meantime, thank you for being a part of mine! 😁
